Absolutely happy with my time spend with Paraíso Dive Cartagena. There was a miscommunication that happened in the morning but it was all resolved within the hour and I was able to go diving. My dives were absolutely incredible, I got to see so much beautiful ocean life as well as breathtaking corals. I am so grateful for this dive center and their flexibility/ kindness to help with any issues that arose. I recommend this place to anyone; my family and I will soon be coming back to do some more incredible diving 💖

My family and I visited Cartagena in July 2022. We first used the service of boat and guide from Paraiso Dive for offshore snorkeling. The dive master Lea was so good, showing us a few nice areas and attentive to safety at all times we felt we should continue with her for scuba dives (we are certified). In our first scuba dive it was a lovely sight to see a lot of garden eels protruding out of the sandy substrate like sea grass. The wrecks made up of at least five sunken ships were home to diverse species of fish, coral, and sponges. Our second dive focused on a vast area of healthy coral reefs with sea lilies. We saw damsel fish, parrot fish, butterflyfish, sting rays, a seahorse, a school of cuttlefish, and many more. After the dives we rested at Blue Apple Beach House for drinks and food and a quick wash-up before heading back to the marina. The services were great and the operation from this shop was safe. We would use them again for our future trips.

Jose and Eduardo and the rest of the team did an amazing job hosting our dive sessions and training courses! They were professional, provided excellent training, and worked with us to get the course done, allowing us to do some of the theoretical work beforehand and arranging to deliver videos too. Can’t imagine that there is a better place in Cartagena to get your dives and certifications in with. The resort they work through is really nice for others of the family who aren’t diving to spend time around with a beach, nice pool, and available food at the restaurant. Overall our experience was great!

This was the highlight of my trip to Cartagena! This was my first-time scuba diving and I did not know what to expect. It was an easy and quick transfer from the city to the beach club where we dived from. The instructors were very kind, knowledgeable, and spoke & understood English while giving very clear and precise instructions. After a review in open water and all the equipment was inspected by the dive masters, we were on the way into the ocean. It was amazing and so beautiful! The dive masters knew exactly where to go to see the most marine life and coral. The dive masters were close by for safety as they pointed out all types of life like fish, lobsters, eels, schools of marine life, and large coral with even more life to be seen up close. We did 2 dives in different locations, water and snacks were offered between dives. The entire dive team worked together to ensure a fun and safe adventure for divers of all levels. The amount of time spent diving was perfect, enough to see a lot of action, but not so much you end up exhausted for the day. Added bonus, you get a day pass for the beach club after the dive to relax, eat at the restaurant, or just chill on the private beach. They offer certification as well, all at a spectacular price considering all that you get to experience. I will definitely be back!

Esmerelda was amazing. I originally only planned to do a 2 hour mini session but I had some anxiety at 6 meters, before we got to the coral. She helped calm me down and brought me back up to the surface, where we basically snorkeled until the boat came to pick us up. We then joined another instructor and woman getting her certification. Esmerelda said we could just stay at the surface but then she slowly guided me down and helped keep me calm and focus on my breathing. I knew she was doing that and as she held my hand the entire time, I followed her all the way to the coral where we explored for 30 minutes. It was a Beautiful experience and I’m so glad she didn’t give up on me! This may sound corny but without her I would have missed out on a great experience.

Paradiso Dive was a fantastic experience for my girlfriend and I while we were in Cartagena. We were picked up right outside the Walled City and taken to a local resort to get our dive gear before a double dive. Our instructor Dani spoke perfect English and was incredibly knowledgeable in the field and as a tour guide for us. The two dives were beautiful and were exactly what we were looking for. Dani was kind enough to give us suggestions on places to go to in Cartagena after the dives and even took us out to experience the local scene. I would 100% recommend Paraiso Dive to anyone looking to explore while in Cartagena!

Cannot recommend diving with this company enough. This was our second dive day in Cartagena and wish we would have have done both days with Paraiso instead of the bigger company. José was an INCREDIBLE guide. He was great at communication leading up to our visit, making sure the experience was tailored to our interest, abilities, and confidence levels (as relatively new certified divers). The sites we went to were amazing and truly unforgettable. We were in Cartagena for a week and this was our favorite day by far. Also, the beach club was so nice! We loved hanging out there after the dives. Great food, drinks, and vibes.

My girlfriend and I, both uncertified divers, had an amazing time during our 2 dives. The explanation beforehand was super clear and the instructors were patient and very helpful to make sure we knew all the techniques for a fun and safe dive. The dives took us to very beautiful underwater sceneries with plenty of beautiful fish and coral.

I reached out very last minute if they still had a spot for me to dive and I got a super fast reply. Great communication, great bilingual guide (not everybody speaks Spanish so this was a huge relief). Excellent gear, great dive at fair price, with attention for the environment and overall good vibe. Highly recommend diving here!

We had two amazing dives with Paraiso Dives. Jose the owner picked us up with his dog Domino and we went to the island where the diving center is located. The two dive instructors Andres and Javier were really great! Not only they took us to great spots they really cared about our needs and made us feel comfortable during both dives! They also gave me really good tips how to improve my diving. We really enjoyed the whole experience with the diving school and can highly recommend to book a dive experience through them - it’s worth it! My husband is an uncertified diver and I'm certified but rusty. We were looking for a scuba diving experience that would be appropriate for both of us. Paraiso Dive was great! They were attentive with communication in advance. Jose talked to us the entire boat ride to our destination helping my husband feel more relaxed (he was nervous). We don't speak Spanish well, but Jose's English is great. Our dive experience was beginner level, but we felt that it was a very safe and supported experience. As it turned out, my husband didn't go through with scuba, but they were very flexible and gave him a snorkel experience instead. I would definitely recommend for all levels of divers!

Paraiso Dive is a great diving school to get your PADI Open Water. The material en diving lessons are from good quality. The teacher will take her time (big credits to Esmeralda) and teaches you how to become a good diver and not just to get your PADI quickly. Because I was the only one this week who applied for the PADI OW Esmeralda was my personal instructor. You can practise and improve your starting diving skills. The theory is a e-learning. It will take a few hours to get through it, but it’s worth it. The theory is very useful for the lessons. Try to do it in between the first en second day of diving. When you choose this dive school you should be a little flexible. When there is an opportunity to dive the next day instead of the day after, f.e. Because of the weather or applications, you will be asked to changes your days. It was no problem for me and it will get you great dives.

Fantastic 2 dives, on all points! To resume we prefer small, personalized and safe operation and it was exactly that! First Jota could accommodated us just the day before, as we've been diving with a different company a couple day before but wanted a shorter boat trip than to Isla Rosario, and his proposed dive in Isla de Baru was exactly what we wanted. He listened to our experiences and desires and combining with the conditions Jota offered to dive on some wrecks, Underwater Museum and then on a beautiful sand plus coral reef. We felt super safe all along, following all PADI's procedure, he was really active in finding and showing us wild life, lots of it! Lots of new sightings! Equipment in great condition, friendly team, the post dive in Blue apple was very welcomed, it's a beautiful place. We will definitely come back!

I had the best experience with Paraiso Dive in Cartagena, Colombia. We visited some beautiful reefs, very healthy, diverse sea life and saw 2 wrecks and an underwater sculpture garden that was impressive. The Paraiso team is wonderful, fun and knowledgeable guides who love what they do and it shows. High safety standards, quality equipment, good communication and value, they have it all covered! We’ve dove a numerous different resorts and locations and diving here just felt different. The attention to detail in regards to our safety really resonated how poorly trained other facilities are. The team here led by Jota is top notch and the dive sites are beyond gorgeous. Reefs and wrecks were boasting with life and they were eager to show us their different species. After the dive we spent time at the Blue Apple which was a delight. Amazing food, great music, just a perfect spot to stop and reflect on the dives. Without a doubt would recommend this trip to experts or beginners. You won’t be disappointed.

We absolutely loved our experience with them! I am a certified advanced diver, while my partner did his first discover dive with them. For my partner: they put a high emphasis on safety and making him comfortable with the gear, also making sure he feels comfortable enough and can discover the joy of diving while completely save. (I joined his session so he was more comfortable and have to say it was done amazingly). While he was very apprehensiv before, he really wants to do his open water now! Big shouthout for this to Chris! I did my dives (4 in total) with Junior and had a lot of fun. We did ship wrecks, different reefs and in the end also some spear fishing of the invasiv lion fishes (they have to get rid of them). During all times i felt super save and you could feel they understand what they are doing! If you are in Cartagena or terra bomba, this is the dive school for you!

Everything was absolutely amazing. I got my open water certification and loved every minute of it. The staff was very knowledgeable, patient, and fun. The warm, clear water was filled with beautiful coral and countless colorful fish. They made the pickup and drop-off in Cartagena easy and convenient. The gear was all in great condition and the staff was always smiling. The island we dove from had 4 little towns and an old castle that are also worth a visit. There were zero hidden fees or attempts to get more money. After trying to go through another company first, I cannot recommend them enough. One of my favorite experiences in Colombia!

Our teenager was thrilled with the experience, as well! Our 5 and 10 year olds also loved the snorkeling. The afternoon at Blue Apple Beach Resort was the icing on the cake!

My girlfriend and I had an awesome time scuba diving with Jota and Luci. They were both super chill & really patient as we had never scuba’d before. Took about 10 minutes underwater to get the hang of things but felt safe & comfortable the whole time. Saw tons of cool fish, a couple lobsters, and a few schools of fish too. Jota and Luci made sure to point out fish that weren’t as easy to spot for inexperienced divers. 10/10 would recommend you scuba with Paraiso Dive!

Paraíso Dive is an excellent dive center right off the coast of Cartagena on Tierrabomba island. During our multiple dives, we saw turtles, dolphins, a great variety of fish and beautiful coral. The dive masters and captain were very knowledgeable and helpful. After diving, you have the option of eating lunch and swimming at the Blue Apple Hotel. What a great way to spend the day!

Our dive guide Lucia made the experience unforgettable! From the moment we arrived at the dock, she was friendly, informative & most importantly, fun! She had everything ready and waiting for us and was able to explain everything in both Spanish and English! We did two dives- one a beautiful, vibrant coral reef & the other a wreck dive. We also got to hang out at the Blue Apple Beach House during our surface interval and after our dives, which was definitely an added bonus. They even have a beautiful house reef right in front of their paradise-based dive center (located at the Blue Apple Beach House on the island of Tierra Bomba). We had a wonderful time diving with Paraiso! The team was a lot of fun (my wife loved their Dalmatian, in particular), and the two dive sites that we did (one reef, one shipwreck / naval memorial) were memorable. It was the highlight of our trip to Cartegena. Super easy to get to the dock, and Terra Bomba was a welcome respite after the hustle and bustle of the city.

The best time of a wonderful week in Cartagena was with the guys from Paraiso Dive. The excursion was flawlessly organized, everyone was friendly and kind, and the dive itself was amazing. The initial contact and follow up were easy and clear, as was the meeting. All was as represented (better actually). The diving (for a beginner) was safe and gave us confidence, but did not feel at all constrained. The crew were helpful but natural and fun. Jose went far beyond what could be expected to arrange for the post-dive afternoon. All was much appreciated and we would recommend (actually have already recommended) unreservedly.

We (group of 4 from Chicago) had an amazing experience with Paraiso Dive. At first we got unlucky as Cartagena was having annual Ironman event and the harbor was closed for the boats but Jose and Cristina relocated the boat to outside the city harbor and changed our departure time. Everything was simply perfect; the boat, the gear, the service, the guided diving and snorkeling, lots of smiles, bilingual communications. I had never been scuba diving before but decided to get my PADI Open Water cert while on holiday in Cartagena. I booked the course with Paraiso Dive and could not be happier with the decision. Dani, Lu, and Diego were amazing and made me feel like family from day one. The instruction and experience Dani provided me to feel safe, confident and in control underwater very quickly. Just as importantly, the team and reefs were so great that I decided to do another fun-dive on the 3rd day. My 3 days with Paraiso Dive, as well as the recommendations they gave me for my remaining time in Cartagena made this experience the highlight of my 4 week holiday in South America. I had the best time getting my Scuba Diver Certification with Paraiso Dive! The scheduling was super flexible and the 2 dives were amazing and so much fun. I have tricky ears and Jota and Christina were incredibly patient with me while I descended (at snail's pace) and made sure I was able to equalize before descending any further which I greatly appreciated. They are excellent teachers and also just really awesome people (as well as everyone else who works there). I couldn't recommend them enough!

Best place for scuba diving in Cartagena. We came with a group of 4 (beginners & advanced) and booked a tour for the next day. Excellent instructions and beautiful diving sites (reefs, underwater art & shipwrecks!!). 10/10 would recommend!

We had a great experience with Jose and his team. My partner did the open water diver certification (she had never dived before) and I tagged along to refresh my knowledge after 2 years of not diving. Jose did a great job making us comfortable with the various emergency scenarios that could occur and how to handle ourselves. We worked through the material quickly so we spent a good portion of the 2 day course actually diving instead of running through exercises. The dive sites were all fantastic, with coral reefs, lots of interesting marine life (we saw multiple pufferfish, a barracuda, and an octopus) and multiple sunken ships. Overall I would definitely recommend Jose for new and experienced divers.
