Do not pay extra for the “unlimited alcohol” package. Travel agent was pushing that it was beer and spirits and stopped us buying cheap beers at the supermarket. 30 minutes into the trip we found out that the bus was stopping so they could buy us a bottle of spirit and that was the package. Got refunded the alcohol portion and had to spend the rest of the ride buying beers everytime we stopped from people on the street.

It is a must to get in one “Chiva party bus” if you go to Cartagena, Colombia ! In the Colombian coast, the Chivas are used as a tourist activity (see real definition below). The bus chauffeur will drive you, and everyone inside the bus, through the historic neighborhoods while singing and dancing with a local band. Bring you own alcohol as you will have a blast! Normally you should end the activity in a nightclub for a short period of time. Make sure to ask before booking to make sure you have the best night. Oh yes, they do not speak Spanish so make sure to book with small agents wondering around the streets selling different touristic activities. It is not expensive but I can’t recall. I would say around 20-30$US/person (let me know if prices have changed) Definition: A “Chiva bus” is an artisan rustic bus used in rural Colombia. Chivas are adapted to rural public transport, especially considering the mountainous geography of the Andean region of these countries. Most have a ladder to the rack on the roof which is also used for carrying people, livestock and merchandise.

The lady in charge Dina, was not an honest person . She was dishonest about the money that was paid to her in cash . The owner should be worried !!!! We had paid her a deposit prior to the event . She then asked a group member for the full amount . She failed to mention the deposit that was paid . Our mistake in not communicating to the other group members . The next day when we figured out we had overpaid and had asked her she completely denied the amount paid . We had several people who confined the amount paid . Our mistake for not getting a cash receipt .

I worked closely with Dina to have two chivas for our pre-wedding event and OMG!! This was the hit of ny wedding. Dina went above abd beyond to make sure we had palanqueras, a papayera group and the animators were so funny and made us all dance like crazy! All my friends were from many parts of the world and this was one of the best experiences they had in Cartagena. The staff was so professional and sweet, the sweets they gave us was delicious and the way they organized everything with a camera guy was flawles! We rented 2 chivas one was more modern and I recommend that one it was spacious and beautiful. We got the traditional chive because I thought people were going to want to sit and I was soo wrong! Get the big one with the full dance floor. Either way it was so so fun the stops were great and they had both chivas be dropped off close to our hotels and the other one in Havana. Thank you Dina and team for one of the greatest nights of my life!

The best Chiva ever! Had a lot of fun! The staff were very friendly and responsible, and kept the party going all night! Highly recommended, big applause for our host "James Bond" 😂👏 !

This was an amazing experience! From booking the activity to actually enjoying the chiva ride, everyone involved in the process was very professional, accommodating, and fun. .. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking to enjoy two hours of a great time in Cartagena! - 5 star service for sure !

Super fun, you meet cool people and enjoy your time. In my case they didn't "refill" my rum allocation and then it stopped being fun

It was great experience going around with and drinking inside the bus and dancing.

Three stars because while I recommend going, the 1 hour we spent in an empty lot being "entertained" by a street preformer before they'd let us go to the club really had a bad effect. We were the last bus there, even vendors were gone and everyone wanted to leave.

It was a super fun ride!! You get to see the main landmarks while partying! Music was great and ambiance super fun!

We had a blast on the Chiva party bus! The music, the tour and overall experience was great. After the tour we went to a few discos (clubs/bars) and enjoyed our first night in Cartagena!

Updating my comment since it was a mishap on my part. I was surprised since I rode with them last year and had such a great time that I wanted to do it again but we were able to square it way. Those guys put on a good show. Riding again with them on Friday.
