The hotel service is very bad. It is not what they offer you. You have to make a reservation for everything and they also offer you an all-inclusive service but that's a lie. In the bar you only have the right to one type of beer and national drinks, if you want something else, they charge you. I do not advise using this all-inclusive hotel. is a lie.The wifi does not work on the floors above. The staff is very unfriendly....The food in the restaurant is very poor quality. In the room every time I use the shower I smell a rotten garbage smell for more than 30 seconds. As an all-inclusive hotel I do not recommend it. does not meet the standards of an all-inclusive hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at he Cartagena Plaza. We thought the location was ideal in Bocagrande, a quick and inexpensive cab ride to the walled city. We felt safe in the neighborhood and there was 24 hour security on the premises. The staff was excellent and went above and beyond our expectations. Whether it was Alfredo at the front desk, the helpful ladies at the Concierge desk, or the buffet staff (we visited the Omelette chef every morning and he always had a smile on his face) we were very impressed. The housekeeping was excellent as well. Our Spanish is very basic at that—yet we never had any problems communicating with staff members and they were very accommodating. Had to give 4 stars because of the elevators. The hotel facility could use more (and faster) elevators. But that was just a minor inconvenience and we were on vacation so we were never in a hurry. For the price we felt it was an excellent option and we would definitely stay there again.

The location of the hotel was pretty good which is a huge big ups, nonetheless the hotel service was horrible, for example some friends and I reserved a table for the restaurant at 1 pm, and when we got there we had no seats available at all. Another issue I encountered with the service is for example the lack of stuff for the "minibar" and the lack of preparation of such. They took a DAY later to respond about what happened there... Now with the rooms, the beds were okay-ish, the Air Conditioner wasn't cooling the room so I ended up sleeping with no sheets at all on me. Another issue I encountered were the plugs, they weren't doing their job properly and ended up using my powerbank instead which it sucks. Overall I'd say it's a good hotel location but they have A LOT things to improve to be honest. That's all from me.

The all inclusive package included access to level 5, “Lucia restaurante,” we found that this restaurant was peaceful and had an amazing view, it had an outdoor area, with some shaded areas, and an indoor dining area. A special mention to Benjamin, as he was a fantastic waiter and accomodated to our needs! The food was good. We dined at the restaurant several times and all of the waiters were polite and respectful. The all inclusive package also provided a “business lounge,” only available for premium clients, which was a quiet small room to have breakfast, if you did not want to attend the buffet. We also dined at Kazabe restaurant, the service was slow, though the food was good. Please note that the “all inclusive package,” does not necessarily mean this! As you are not allowed to have the premium spirits, as you have to pay for this seperately, though “house spirits,” wine and beer were included. Also as a premium service the mini bar and some spirits were included and provided in the room accomodation. We stayed in the “Tech room,” which basically has a google mini to activate the tv, lights and play music, unfortunately the automatic blinds were broken. Not all jet’s in shower worked, though still had good water pressure. The bed was big and comfortable and the room clean, neat and tidy. The pool area lacked comfortable seating and needed more shaded areas. As it’s family oriented be prepared for lots of children. The hotel would benefit with an addition, and dedicated space for adults, including as adult pool. Though the area on level 5 was perfect to relax. Also our “butlers,” (César, Andrés, Luís, Fabián y Alfredo) were also extremely helpful in answering any questions and attending to our needs. Thank you Hotel Cartagena Plaza

All good for this one, staff is very kind, the food (breakfast specially) is delicious! Great experience, the rooms are clean and organized. The location is good since you have Bocagrande beach in front and you are at 10 minutes from the center of the city taking an Uber or Taxi.

We came here 5 years ago and it was GREAT. This time, it was HORRIBLE. We got 2 rooms, they separated us by 3 floors when we asked to be on the same floor as last time. The way they changed the elevators, you needed your room card to go to your floor, so we had to take the stairs to meet with family. The AC didn't work in our room, and the door didn't lock in the other room. We spoke to the supervisor, Jason. After a while, he agreed to change our room to a new room where the AC works and on the same floor as the rest of our family. They rushed us to move everything. We get to our new room and guess what, the AC isn't working, they sent maintenance and they said its broken and needs to be fixed. I went to complain after the supervisor lied saying the new room AC works. I asked for fans for the mean time until they fixed the AC. They said they would give us 2 fans but only gave us 1. They ended up changing our room AGAIN. I ended up forgetting my wedding band in the last room, and when I asked the supervisor if I could go back to the room to check the safe for my ring, he said no, "I don't know what to tell you". The new room, the AC, worked a little, and they let us keep the 1 fan, we were getting tired of moving rooms that we didn't bother to complain about it. Our kids slept in my mother-in law room since their AC worked. The location is in front of the beach BUT beware these people are like Hawks and try to charge you for everything - we spent 1 day at the beach, had 4 plates of food, 12 alcohol beverages and they charged us a little over 3 million pesos which is around $750/$800. Straight RIP off.

I came all the way from California on a solo trip to Cartagena for a week. If you are a family just looking for somewhere decent and by the beach, book this hotel. If you are a single young person, I would advise against it. This place is extremely family oriented, you won’t meet anyone here. The place does not look like it does in pictures and the rooftop pool was subpar. They do a lot of marketing with videos and stuff, but the hotel doesn’t match the advertisements. The place is full of kids and constant noise even at night. The rooms are good and the breakfast is amazing. The service is also great and the staff are very friendly. Location is terrible… I don’t know if that’s down to the hotel or just cartagena in general but the minute you step out of the hotel, you are immediately harassed by street vendors. They won’t let you breathe for a second. You can’t take a peaceful walk on the beach or have a moment alone. The “massage” vendors will even invade your personal space and touch you. They won’t leave you alone even if you say no. The scene is so bad but people told me to expect it. The police should really do something about it. This is not the place for a relaxing vacation at all.

If I could give this place a less than one star rating I certainly wood. The hotel was prepaid with no refund so we were stuck stuck. One of the worst properties in the world. Tried 4 rooms AC did not work in AC. In Cartagena heat not having functional AC's that cool imagine that. Trust me and go somewhere else.

Check-in went a little bit hassle-full ,maybe because of arrival of a load full of new tourists and the already busy lobby. A good communication internally and less demanding tourists might help. There seems to have been an issue with the elevator, I hope they solved that in the meantime. But , they have a good service and the Excecutive Floor is really recommended- well done whomever invented that , to give an even better service.

Good Points: Free WiFi; some staff are friendly; taxi to the centre is only $8,400 COP. Bad Points: Hotel lookd tired and like jt hasnt been updated since the 1970s; room smells of damp; bathroom smells of drains; air-conditioning in the room barley works have it on all day and temperature of the room is no different; the bed is average; housekeeping come at 9am - seriously what is that about? - and don't come back later; you have to phone to reserve your meal time everyday which is annoying; the pool and bar area are very small in relation to the size of the hotel and there is only 1 bar open during the day; snacks are the same everyday, no variety - cheeseburgers/hotdogs/pizza/popcorn; you are hassled the second you step outside the hotel and; I would not recommend walking the 50m to the beach for this reason.

The hotel was not clean and their windows were the worst with little to no visibility of the ocean due to dirt . Breakfast had no variety to choose from . Hotel is different from how it is advertised online Don’t let those pictures fool you especially if you pay extra for ocean view rooms . Was disappointed

Great experience. The hotel is located right across from the beach. The best of all was the staff. The hotel very clean. They even recommended a lab for the covid test, and we had the results that day. Absolutely everyone was wonderful. I'll mention especially Elkin Madrid in the dining hall. He is a consumate professional - very attentive and remembers preferences unlike anyone!

I once again have stayed at Cartagena Plaza hotel and again they have exceeded my expectations of what great customer service should be. What can I say that I haven’t said before, the staff is amazing and I feel it should be mentioned that they all go above and beyond to make your stay pleasurable. Jeisson and Elkin are great assets to have in this hotel, I cannot thank you enough for making my stay amazing! the food is excellent….good variety, snacks and drinks are available at all times, rooms are always kept clean, beautiful pool to enjoy yourself in. You do need to make reservations for meals and pool, which did not bother at all since we are going through a pandemic and they are truly doing their best to keep everyone safe. I 100% recommend singles and family to stay here, you will not regret it :)

The service during the checkout was pretty bad. My son was very sick, and I needed to do a late check out, the hotel did not care and refused our request, my flight was scheduled at 9:30pm and I had to take my son sick to a mall waiting for the time to go to the airport. Besides, we forgot a vision glasses at the room, I tried to comunicate with the hotel several times without any success. On the other hand, the bathroom supplies are very poor, no tissues, no body lotion. Also when we checked in The room had a weird smell, it did not look clean.
