Great adventure today, can’t thank the Diego and his guys enough. incline hike up was challenging. The rest of the time was easy and very cool. zip lines and repelling were great. Saw 3 sloths and a great view. My 8 year old Son and some of the ladies in the group rode with one of the crew. They kept it safe and fun for all. Highly recommend you try this activity. Not suitable for people who have mobility issues or can not hike up steep inclines for 15 plus minutes.

Awesome guides, beautiful scenery and we got to see a sloth with her baby! It's a pretty good hike up to the first zipline but totally worth it! I recommend when they ask you do you want to repel fast or slow say "rapido!" 😁 Highly recommend!

Omg, I had the best time zip lining on my birthday. It was my 1st time canopying and I'll admit I was very scared at 1st due to me being afraid of heights but it was well worth it. I purchased my tickets in advance off of Viator, I think that's how you spell it. I was part of the 10am group. I checked in and waited for the driver to come back to pick up the 2nd part of my group. We started with the ride up to the area we were to hike up 1st. And trust me you want to make sure you're prepared for that hike, just remember I said you're going up so you'll be doing some climbing. Make sure you bring hiking type shoes so you're not slipping on the mud. Once we got to the top where the zip lining was, training and safety precautions took place. Then we were on are way to the 11 lines. It was a really dope experience, it sucked they didn't have a professional photographer there to capture photos but I said multiple times that I needed a photo of me zip lining, especially since it was my bday and my 1st time and I meant every word of that. So Diego (super cool), I believe his name was captured me at some point. He even did a video of me coming down the line, so that was cool. I wish I could remember all the La Carpintera team members names but I don't remember. Everyone was cool and again I 100% enjoyed my time there. I'd definitely do it again. After zip lining, I went to the restaurant and had a sangria and nachos.

Guides/Instructors (Diego and Dylan) were super nice & at no point did I feel unsafe. Meeting point was a restaurant at the bottom of the mountain, just 20 minutes outside the city ($11 USD Uber). Great experience! A little bit of climbing to the top of the mountain using stairs, so not for the faint of heart. They give you a small nap sack to hold your belongings during the course so keep it to bare minimum.

My family had an amazing time here. We booked the night before and they fit us in no problem. Diego was the best guide, and the others were very awesome as well. Would highly recommend everyone check this place out. The hike up was definitely worth it. My 8 year old had a blast and the guides were so great with him. They were also very supportive to the ones in our group that were scared. Couldn’t have asked for a better zip lining experience. Nice short Uber drive from San Jose as well, and we even saw a sloth just above the first rappel line.

The belayer is attached to a figure 8 secured above the rappeller, and the other side of the rope is in the hand of the belayer who stands next to the rappeller. The rope is not attached to the belayer in any way. The client is slowed by the belayer maintaining the angle, and friction of the rope through the figure 8. If the belayer lets go, the client would be in free fall. If the belayer is bumped, stung, scarred, or even distracted, they could easily let go of the rope. If the client steps off the edge before the belayer is ready than the they would fall some 20 odd feet. It is not hard to imagine a scenario when this would happen. The first of two repels left me somewhat weary, as the redundancy didn’t seem exactly “bomber”. I originally questioned it but moved on as I thought “these are professionals, they know what they are doing”, but I am starting the question the safety of this first system as well. If anyone with some knowledge sees it, and wants to let me know what they think, I’d love to hear it. Apart from the experience with the rappel system, I had a great time. The guides were super, and the location is wonderful. Please fix this!! Thanks

We loved the tour and our guides were amazing. Diego and the others do a great job making you feel safe and confident. You should know that there is a hike on the way up that will leave you huffing and puffing if you're not in pretty good shape. The zips were all a ton of fun, and the views were amazing. We saw 2 sloths and heard toucans calling in the trees. 100% recommend!

The 13 zip lines and the 2 rappels were good. This is the first time I did zip lines. Looked scary at first but was more comfortable after doing the first one which was a short one. Same with rappels, they look scary but when you do they are not. But climbing up 600+ steps was the difficult part. Hope the restrooms are cleaner next time.

We had an amazing afternoon at the La Carpintera Canopy Tour. We visited with our fearless teen daughters and they were thrilled. The views were incredible and the guides were fantastic. They made us feel very safe, and also pointed out interesting plants and quartz along the hike. The hike to the platform took about 20 minutes and it's pretty steep, but we were able to go at our own pace and take little breaks along the way. Definitely remember to apply insect repellent before the hike. We absolutely recommend the tour and will definitely go back if we visit San Jose again.

So much fun. I went with my teenager and 8 year old. It was my son's first time. He was allowed to ride by himself on most of the lines and on some of the longer lines one of the guides assisted him so he wouldnt get stuck. The guys were all super helpful. Got to see a sloth sleeping in a tree as well as some amazing views. Would definitely recommend this activity.

Fun zipline tour with a great views of the forest and city, plus a few rappelling drops as well. The guides were really cool and made it easy and enjoyable.

Easy booking experience via WhatsApp to confirm our group size and which tour we wanted (9am or 1pm). Drove there and parked in the parking space for La Chirraca, there won’t be any sign boards for La Carpintera but the steak house is the meeting place. Go inside to the counter and identify your guides by their turquoise polo shirts. If you are doing the 1pm slot, make sure to eat something first as it’ll be a few hours (2-4 hours depending on your batch of people) before you’re back in civilisation. After waiting in the playground they’ll take you up half of the way in batches by truck, then you’ll hike uphill for about 18-20 minutes to the 1st of 12 platforms (and amongst that 2 rapelling). Guides Diego, Dilan, Dani and Juan are fun but they take your safety seriously, so no worries there. Every zip line has fantastic views and superb fun! There’ll be a bit of waiting if you go on weekends as their batch per timing can be between 25-35 people. So you have to wait for the guides to finish sending people off previous zip lines to get to the next ones. I’ve heard weekdays has less people. I actually think a bit of wait time is better so that you enjoy each zip line. If you have children who are lighter than 90lbs they might have to go with the guides across some zip lines to add weight and momentum or for one rappelling they will have to miss it due to the weight necessity.

This was a fantastic zip line experience. On 20 minutes away from San Jose! Many long lines- very thrilling experience! Long hike up with many stairs, but we were able to take breaks on the way. The tour guides help you to get dressed in your harness and helmet and are very attentive and encouraging throughout the trip. Would highly recommend!

The ziplining was amazing at La Carpintera Canopy. First you go to the top and from there they put on your armor and guide you what to do and don’t. The guys who are with you the whole time and are very friendly and kind. The adrenaline pumps through your veins. From my perspective it is the best zipline I’ve done and really recommend this half day filling trip! Thanks for everything!

Be prepared to walk up 630 steps to get to the top to start your ziplining. The crew was excellent, the zip-lining was so much fun. We were in Costa Rica for 10 days and finally saw a sloth that the employees pointed out. The most important event that we did not agree that they handled properly was the employees saying whoever gets to the top will zipline right away. We had 3 adults and there were 2 other adults already waiting. We then waited for a church mission group of 50 people to get to the top and by the time everyone got to the top and put their gear on it was 1 hour later until we started ziplining. It started to rain heavily the 5 of us went first and after ziplining that portion of it we then were told to move to the next zipline. It was pouring rain on June 23(rainy season), in the mountains, and was actually cold and had to wait over 1 hour for the church group to get done and then the employees said we can continue or call it a day. We had about 3 runs left with one of them being the longest but my wife was shivering because we were so wet and were only wearing T-shirts and shorts. I would go back and hope that one group at a time would start and not have to wait for a group of 50 to arrive before we start.

Great people and SUPER fun activity! For the price this is a fantastic value and quite the adventure. Be sure to bring a water and spray your bug repellent then get ready for a wonderful time. Be sure to stop and see Carlos in the restaurant before you leave. Enjoy

10/10 recommend! Our guides (Diego & Ebi) were super nice, fun, and very patient. Especially with me, I took my time during the walk up the mountain (stairs). I never felt rushed or unsafe. They gave me an extra harness to allow me to lean back a bit more during the Zip Line since I had accidentally stopped too soon on a line but again, they were super helpful! The views were amazing and so worth the trip.
