Place sure was spooky but beautiful. A must visit when visiting Costa Rica. It’s close to volcano Irazú so both can be covered on the same day. The place needs to be conserved and loads of restoration is needed. It’s sad seeing how the days would have been for the patients and kids who spend their days here. It should be declared as heritage site.

I visited the viewpoint but not the sanitarium itself which is abandoned now. It is on the way to Irazu volcano. From the view point you see the sanitarium nearby but more importantly you get very beautiful views of the Costa Rican Central Valley and the mountains. It is no wonder the TB Sanitarium had been built there long time ago.

Pretty nice view, worth to visit for 10-20 mins, sky gets cloudy and clear pretty fast so hanging around is a good idea if you want to get nice pics

Outstanding view! Totaly worth 1 hour driving uphil. If you'll ever pass by take a minute and stop for a good picture

Great look out. Windy and cold at night, dress accordingly. The view is lighted. It overlooks the sanitorium which is able to be seen as it is well lit as well.

A must if you are around this area. Great view of the valley.

I went on Halloween so it was a bit packed but overall it seems like a good spot to check once if your in the area. Maybe it’s best that plenty of people were around because it might be scary otherwise. I would give it a 10 out of 5 if I had seen a ghost, alas..I did not. I did enjoy walking around and it’s great that there is some signage in certain rooms so you can imagine how the building was used during its operating years, I wish people didn’t mark it with graffiti as much as they have.

Excellent cuisine, although a little more expensive. Nice place. I met this beautiful car here.

I went on a rainy day which added to the affect this place has on you when walking through the eery hallways of this "haunted" place. Walk through and imagine how patients and staff might've spent their time here. Close your eyes and listen and you might here or feel something that's not quite explainable.

This is cute, you can buy from the locals or take your food. Bathroom is 500 Colones and you can do a picnic there.

The experience was very calm, it is a very calm place with a lot of tranquility, the viewpoint is excellent for any time and for people who love the cold it is a great place, some drawbacks are the damaged structures, being so many years old, the structures are very damaged and can be dangerous, also the people who go leave many things and pollute the environment, my recommendations for the place is that they implement a better efficiency in the administration of the place
