Charles is amazing person and he really knows what he is doing! I really appreciate how helpful he was. We had an incredible time in Costa Rica thank to him and amazing drivers, especially Raúl. Charles always replied to my messages even in the night! And he was always on time! He also created great atmosphere in van, he arranged everything before the journey and he helped with all unexpected situations. Thank you is not even enought for all his help. We can't wait for next adventure!

Best experience and worth every dollar spent and then some! We booked this trip to Costa Rica with very little lead in time, and could not rent a car, so we realized we needed car and driver service from point A to B to C and so on. After a bit of research, we found Baqueano Tours. The communication with owner Charles prior to the trip already brought us a sense of ease and comfort. He was knowledgeable, helped us choose destinations, provided exact information about times and places, and made the payment process easy. Once we got here, we were treated to first-class cars and drivers who did not just arrive on time, but early. The drivers were flexible, friendly, expert and flexible with any/all requests. I cannot say enough about our positive experiences here! And driving is no easy task in Costa Rica. There are rough roads in places, no shoulders sometimes, and people who rented cars told us of the need to add insurance. Once you are in destinations, getting around is relatively easy, so with service like this available, you can see many destinations hassle free. Not to mention, you can be a spectator, take a nap, and arrive refreshed at your destinations. I’m not sure if all car & driver experiences in Costa Rica or elsewhere would be this convenient and positive, but I can tell you, as a former travel industry professional, Baqueano Tours is a top-notch operation!

The Baqueano are life savers. After missing our flight from Guatemala to Panamá City and the first leg of our cruise. They truly came to our rescue in Costa Rica. I had reached out to them to get us from Sam Jose to Limón to catch up with our cruise ship. We had booked a flight to Sam Jose the next morning. They got back to us immediately and made the booking process really simple. Even making suggestions on places to stay in Limón and places to visit. Their driver Rafeal was at the airport when we got there. He would tell you his English was not good but he did incredibly well and with the help of Google translate showed us the sights of Costa Rica. He was simply amazing and honestly on a trip that had gone horribly wrong, set us on track to have a great experience. He got us to Limón and helped get us to our hotel. Even doing some translation work for us there. If you are ever in Costa Rica and need a car service for the day or to get to a destinations there could be no one better. They truly saved our vacation.

Both Charles and Denis are very friendly, attentive and fun people. The are punctual, knowledgeable and really caring go their clients. Denis is good and safe driver, car is very clean, soft music is enjoyable. He know all areas around the country, and recommends best venues for all occasions. We got a trip for San Jose airport to La Fortuna using your Baqueano Transport. The ride could not have been any better or more professional. Our driver Denis was amazing. He was knowledgable of the area, funny, and easy to get along with. The trip was about 2.5 hours of driving + a stop for lunch at a great place Denis recommended. During our lunch stop Denis taught us about Costa Rican customs and culture. Denis even spotted a sloth and stopped the car to show us!I recommend everyone uses Baqueano’s transport and tour services.

The Baqueano is an excellent tour company. They had us covered from the moment we arrived at the airport. The driver was waiting, holding a sign with our name, so there was no guess work. All cars for the the duration of the trip were air conditioned and in perfect riding condition. The drivers spoke English well enough to explain details of the day and answer any questions we had. The tours were phenomenal with the deep sea fishing tour winning over my husband’s top spot for the trip. The tour company also recommended a restaurant in town to cook the fish my husband caught. The chef prepared our meal to perfection and we had the best tuna steaks ever. The hiking and hot springs tour was my favorite, everything was arranged for us including a hiking guide to the waterfall. We were given all the time we wanted and since we did a private tour, we didn’t feel rushed by a group or as though we had to stick around longer than we wanted. This was truly a private experience. They picked our family up from the hotel daily and brought us directly back. They brought along extra towels and iced cold drinks. There was a toddler snorkel device and they even brought a car seat for our toddler on the days we were riding in a car opposed to the turismo van. I wasn’t expecting this, so you can imagine it was a pleasant surprise. They thought of everything. The drivers were on time, lighthearted, funny, and very professional. We had a local contact person to reach out to if we needed anything. We only needed to use this number once and were greeted by a happy voice on the first call (turns out our driver was actually waiting on us and we were in the wrong spot, haha). What a wonderful trip. You will not go wrong in choosing The Baqueano for your private itinerary. Don’t be afraid…..book The Baqueano! Highlight of the trip. The tour guide on our beach hopping day picked my toddler up and went running shouting grab your camera. No worries, we had excellent rapport and weren’t alarmed by Charles running with our kid. We were so grateful to arrive behind him and see what all the commotion was. Charles spotted a sea turtle all the way down the beach and couldn’t let my son miss his up close opportunity. What an amazing family man. My son was beaming ear to ear for the rest of the day. We are home now and he is still asking to see pictures of “myself with the sea turtle.” Such a wonderful trip.

Fernando was awesome! We just needed transport from Jaco to San Jose but he was good to stop and show us crocodiles and macaws along the way. We also asked about stopping by a good souvenir shop and he found us one. Definitely highly recommend!! Way better than driving yourself around.

My daughter and I vacationed in Costa Rica in June and we contracted with The Baqueano Chauffeurs to transport us from Liberia Airport to our resort. They also were our private tour guides for four full days. Charles Forbes took wonderful care of us the entire time. We didn’t have an itinerary established before we got to Costa Rica. We left it up to Charles to hear what we like to do and plan our daily activities. He was always on time, very entertaining, listened closely to what we like to do, planned the days activities and made sure the car was clean and fully stocked with beverages and snacks. Denis was our driver to the first resort and to our second destination. He was courteous and professional and also took us on a hike on our way to the second resort. I had a very pleasant experience with my driver Denis yesterday. He picked me up from San Jose airport and drove me to la Fortuna. I felt very safe, the car was clean and we had very nice conversation. Also it was quite late and I was very hungry so we stop to cafe, I thought to grab food to go to eat at the hotel but he offered for me to eat there since I was very hungry. It was very nice and thoughtful and I appreciate that a lot. 5 stars for service, safety and kindness. Denis gave me a lot of helpful tips and information about la Fortuna making sure I have my best time here. Appreciate Denis a lot. Overall communication with the company was very smooth and quick responses, which I appreciated. Would definitely use their service again. Thank you!!

We booked the private shuttle to go to the Poas volcano and hidden treasure waterfall. Fernando was a great guide with so much knowledge to share about the history of Costa Rica, the landscape, and animals that we saw. Definitely worth the money that we spent for it. I highly recommend this service! It was a wonderful time!

We had a great experience with the Baqueano: clean vehicles, competitive prices, English speaking drivers. We brought our service dog to Costa Rica and needed to find a private transportation company to get us from San Jose to Puerto Viejo. Charles and his company did a great job and accepted our service animal with joy. Their communication is prompt and professional. All of the vans are quite new and clean. The drivers we met were very friendly and spoke impeccable English. We especially enjoyed our ride and conversation with Fernando (he took us to a very tasty and super local soda for lunch on our way back to SJ; he leads tours too so be sure to request him if you want to meet him :).

Charles was easy to communicate with, super patiently, and friendly. I gave him the amount of time I had and an idea of what I wanted to do and see, then he helped me finalize the perfect itinerary and arranged all the logistics. He made it pain-free and easy for my family and me to enjoy the trip. Very responsive to whatsap messages, and advised me on everything from suggesting food, sights, prices, weather, to COVID tests. In the end, we paid less for this private and personalized trip than booking some big tours with a big agency. There was so much flexibility and personal attention, which makes a huge difference! Our driver/guide was Fernando, and we could not ask for a better driver or nicer person! He was so kind, patient, knowledgeable…and even helped us take some amazing pictures of during the trip.
