Great portions, delicious, high quality. Packaging is the best of any meal delivery service I've seen, they send meals in a zippered bag with ice packs that you return with each delivery -- food trays appear to be compostable, only real waste is plastic film on top. Very impressed, and I've tried a bunch of these services. Not sure what's up with the bad experiences on here but for me it's been amazing. Highly recommended.

The food tastes as bad as it looks! Opening a box told me right away that the food was not good (See photos below.) I decided to taste a few to see if looks do deceive. No, they didn’t. The taste of both dishes were strange, heavy spices not matching the cuisine, unrecognizable! My husband is a chef and he agreed with me. The spicing was strange. After checking my account, I realized that I had purchased food from Cook Unity some years ago. The food has not improved!

My first order arrived yesterday. It was a mess with food spilled inside the box and no ice/gel packs. I've been trying to reach someone but no response until finally a please share your email to a post on twitter. I'm supposed to select my next meals today and no way to cancel/skip. I was so excited for these but HORRIBLE customer service and meals that I can't eat because of how they were shipped. After posting on twitter someone finally reached out and they did give a refund but what a disappointment and complete waste of my time...time I value and is why I was ordering premade meals?!

The food is great and really the best I’ve had when compared to other ready made meal services like Freshly or Factor. However I’m giving a poor review because the packaging is terrible, really the worst I have seen compared to other companies I’ve used. Every box has come a little damaged and the cooling gel has been busted. Today’s shipment was terrible. Ten of the 16 meals were crushed, the plastic wrap open, and cooling gel everywhere, and sauces spilled. Will be asking for a full refund on this box. On browsing the other reviews here, sounds like packaging has been a problem for a year if not longer. Love the food but the packaging is so bad I will be looking for a different company until cookunity fixes the problem. Cook unity- I know it must be hard to change your processes but your delivery needs to get better. While the gel is non toxic, it can’t be healthy to have it smeared all over the food.

We have subscribed to CU for several months. It was pretty good at first thus the 3 stars However, when the menu became more expensive and offered fewer options that we liked we started to skip weeks more often. Last week I received a confirmation for a week’s worth of meals for $84. I must’ve forgotten to skip the week and did not receive the usual reminder. The meals chosen at random were nothing like what we usually ordered. Lemon tofu, we have never ordered tofu. some type of cashew chicken drumsticks which we don’t eat. We received the final order today with a slimy jelly mixture all over the meals. The ice pack was not frozen and it looked like grass or twigs were in the package. They used to warn you before your order was confirmed or send you an email asking you to pick meals not just force orders on us.They seem really desperate. Yes, I canceled the subscription. Update to the owner. You are correct. I looked back through my phone and did have an sms. What is the reason for all of your exclamation points? I do not want an algorithm to pick meals for me. It is not possible for me to list everything that we do and don’t like. I have never ordered tofu so I am not sure how lemon pepper tofu was picked for us. If I didn’t select it then, I don’t want it. Obviously, operate your business how you like. It’s just not right for us. Best Regards

Had many, many issues with this company. Several of the meals come entirely unsealed and leaking. Meals were delivered with poor insulation and had to be thrown out because they arrived hot. Meals came soaking wet. So, so many emails to customer service who begrudgingly gave me credits for the *next* order. I only kept going with them because they were offering a good intro deal and it was convenient. Twice I had meals delivered that I didn't order because the website failed even though I logged in and hit 'skip'. Another time I had completely different meals than I had chosen arrive. They told me that it was my fault. When I looked back, I realized their website is faulty and allowed me to somehow choose the wrong weeks meals instead of the current week. Final straw was the second surprise order that couldn't be canceled within minutes of receiving the email. Food made my boyfriend feel ill because it's all extremely high in calories, salt and fat. Ingredients are not fresh and there are pretty much zero salad options. Many are 1,000 calories or more. Wild, customer service kept offering me a coupon on my *next* order as if I would ever order again from this company.

I'm located in Atlanta and that is where I get my deliveries. Overall, I like cookunity the food is fresh and the meal are decent. The problem with some of the meals are that it can be very bland. Its different chefs so while some chefs season well others don't season at all lol. I would order from them again for sure and I'll have seasoning on hand just in case.

This company is a great idea executed by terrible business minds. I received 4 weeks of CookUnity. Every. Single. Week...at least half of my meals come open, the entire box is soaked in a mixture of pungent sauces, shrimp water and food particles. The shipping of their product is absolutely terrible. To the execs at CookUnity, for the love of everything that’s holy either stop using OnTrac who absolutely pummels your packages or better yet invest into better packaging. You ship food products cross state lines...why are you shipping it in packages that barely hold on. You put heavy ice packs on top of flimsy packaging and then have it shipped and tossed around the world. The only explanation I can think of is none of you live far enough from the factory to actually experience this which is pretty telling. I would gladly pay extra $1-$2 per meal if you just get your minds together and invest in packaging that actually makes logical sense for a company that ships food long distance. You save $1 per meal with this package and then refund me every week $50. Makes no sense. I mean this sounds like step 1 during business planning stage and here you are with a real company that still hasn't figured this out. Do better by your chefs.

I think it is a tasty alternative to order pizza or anything delivered. Website is OK... Skip a week is EZ ,... As a new Empty Nester I like the 6 meal plan! Still good!

Delicious food, atrocious food handling. Three orders in and they haven't delivered a SINGLE order without issues of food sealing and temperature. Last week, I had an order come with several meals over 65F, and a couple more between 55F-65F. Unsafe to eat. Others are open or unsealed. This week, two out of six meals weren't in contact with any sort of cooling media. The cooling pack was leaking everywhere and soaked through most meals. Two meals were unsealed. How hard can it be to provide ample cooling and structured packaging for your meals? This is an abomination. Especially at $15/meal after taxes/delivery. HORRIBLE.

After deciding to leave a meal kit delivery service which was, at best, a functional disaster. Mixed up meals, wrong ingredients in bag, and too many calls for butter and oil - I noticed that I was putting on some weight that had coincided with when I started cooking their meals. Plus they used way too many preservatives than I liked. During my search for a new meal kit service, I came across a number of prepared meal options, which was enticing to me as a placeholder between ditching the old meal kit service and finding a new (more healthier) one. So, I decided to take the plunge. The only thing is I took the plunge with the wrong one, and the experience left me infuriated. As a vegetarian they posed as having plenty of “veggie” options. Once I signed up, I was immediately not well pleased that there were, at most, 4 veggie options to choose from, from week to week. What’s more, the food was horrible, the portions embarrassing, and the outsourced and deficient customer service (who read from scripts) only made a very bad decision worse. Hearing up their meals made me feel as if I was about to eat an overly-glorified over-priced TV dinner. After much research, I THANKFULLY came across CookUnity, and I’m so so glad that I did. The rotating menu has an incredible amount of vegetarian and vegan options and the meals are absolutely amazing, — so thoughtfully made with a robust flavor profile. In top of that, Customer Service is swift, knowledgeable, and warm, —and the delivery is set-up impeccably letting customers know how many stops away their meals are and an ETA that updates in real-time. Hands down, I’m thoroughly impressed and am enjoying meals that are not only flavorful but also healthy and transparent (all ingredients are listed). To make the long short, CookUnity is akin to bringing the restaurant to your table for a very competitive price. Go ahead and try it, you will NOT be disappointed!

First of all, I have tried almost every food delivery service in my area and this one is the absolute best! The taste is far superior than anything else. I must say, yes, it is the most expensive but it's so worth it. I feel like I'm eating at a high end restaurant every meal I have. Worth every penny IMO! Try it and you won't regret it!

They respond quickly via text and I thoroughly enjoy their meals every week. They taste amazing, they always have a new menu to pick from to keep the options, fresh, and you can save your favorites to keep ordering. I love that you can see all of the nutritional information and breakdown so that you can pick meals that suit your goal. And I’m never bored of the meals which is really big for me because other services I have tried, they said the same meals every week, and I eventually get bored and cancel. Cook Unity keeps it fresh

I Kept seeing the ads on Facebook so we decided to try these meals. First I will say I wouldn't be able to afford without the discount they were currently running which was I believe 50% off. Once we recieved them my first thought was very small portions and none of the meals looked very appetizing. Out of 13 meals only 1 of them was one that I would say was good. Not worth the money at all. The food was not good and we ended up having to just throw away several. The worst part is the customer service. It has been terrible. I would not recommend this food service. Definitely better ones out there.

Pros: Best tasting meal delivery service. Cons: I've been a customer for 3 weeks. I've received spoiled, spilled packages 2 out of the 3 weeks. Leaving me to have to scramble to find a replacement for the upcoming work week. Even though I received a refund on the first order (and waiting to hear back on today's order) it is not enough. There needs to be more accountability / better packaging. Period.

We are really enjoying the variety and quality of the CookUnity meals at our house! They taste and look as good as pictured! They are fresh and packaged with care! With three very different diet needs in one family, we can all eat together and we can all meet these needs!

Shockingly piss poor. Don't waste your money. Expensive, send you burnt food, chicken curries with almost zero chicken. Plastic packaging from their prep left in the food, late deliveries weekly, food packaged on sundays but food not arriving until wednesday night with very short expiry dates. Tried to speak to custo.er service but no number. Very slow and unresponsive customer service. Not interested in resolving anything, just want you to continue their subscription. Worst box food service we have ever used by far! ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND

I have done my share of delivered meals. This is the only one that has damaged meals 2 out of 3 deliveries. I have yet to hear back from them and it has been more than the told 24 hours. The meat is good the salads they include are a bit nasty to eat. So, I canceled due to quality control and lack of response. I would recommend a different company. This one is way to costly for damaged meals and inedible parts leaving a bit arugula nasty.

Food is delicious. If any food comes damaged they'll credit you for your next order and customer service is done over email with rather prompt response times. Great service overall. Definitely recommend.

The food really is excellent if you actually receive it intact. I really want this company to succeed, but the packaging is so so sooo bad. I’ve had 2 orders from the company. The first delivery had some hiccups with the plastic peeling back leaving the food exposed. But my most recent delivery was an absolute disaster. 2 meals broke open completely and spilled all over the inside of the box (curry sauce) and the plastic on the rest of the meals peeled off again. Not a single meal was salvageable and I had to to throw away the whole box. This seems like it’s a very common issue with this company and I’m shocked this hasn’t been resolved yet. It’s a total failure on CookUnity’s part. Do better.

Past two months initially got the 16 Meal Service and froze the leftovers and now I just get 12 meals and order them weekly because the food taste much better when it’s heated and never frozen. The menu is varied and outstanding The flavors are fresh and vibrant I have only eaten Cook Unity during these past months, and I have actually lost weight without even Trying I can’t say enough good things about this Meal Service they are professional, always on time and most importantly, the variety of the menu is always changing Never leaving Cook Unity!!!

So far the food has always been delicious and they have many options to try. If I'm not a fan of any dish, I always find something good the next week. Their menu always changes so it's not ever boring and the food gets delivered always around same time, I can even see some of it was packed the same day I got it. But what I like the most is their customer service. This is a good company that cares for their clients. I have been using this services almost without flaws for 4 months now and I only had 3 issues, which they went above and beyond to solve them. It seems that's rare now days. I had an issue with my deliveries coming too late at night, and they arranged for them to come in the morning instead (so far so good, always 11 on the dot, shout-out to the driver!). Second issue was my fault, I tried to change my delivery day and instead I placed 2 orders, but they were super helpful with this. Third time also my fault, I missed the cutoff time and they choose the meals for me (most of them were great choices though!) but I didn't like the tilapia or the shrimp option, so they were super nice to help me to change them. In conclusion, great company, great service, delicious food. Highly recommended!

We've tried several meal delivery kits and CookUnity is the best by far. The food is on par with homecooked meals and it's such a gift to have delicious and nutritious meals delivered to our door. 10/10!

I was hesitant about ordering delivered food. I live in a difficult delivery area to find. It was delivered on time directly to my door. Everything was packed with insulated materials and frozen packs. It was packed so well. It stayed fresh. My husband and I loved the meals. He thought their salmon was better than at our favorite restaurant. Every item was absolutely delicious. I like that we each can enter our own foods preferences or diets and still have lots of options.

My first box was delivered and when I opened it the cooler bags had leaked the gel all over the box. All cardboard was soaked and the gel was all over my meals. I had to throw it all out and never got to taste any of the meals that I ordered and paid for.

I seldom give out 5 stars but this is a spectacular service. The food is great—actually the food is fantastic. The packaging is easy to manage and great portion sizing. We eat only organic and gluten-free and CookUnity easily accommodates us with LOTS of options and interesting flavors. We use this for my elderly mother and she too is organic and loves CookUnity. They just make it easy and its great. The price point is perfect for the quality and we are very very happy customers—–something not many people can say these days. Great company.

Wow just wow. These guys take the cake for meal delivery. I travel all around the country for work. Everybody has let me down so far except CU. I'm looking forward to many more boxes. The flavor surpassed even Factor Meals for me, the portions? Perfect. Nobody nails it like these guys. I had some shipping breakage and they even comped me immediately. I didn't even ask, just wanted to let them know. Oh man I'm so happy to not have to eat out while I'm working from hotels. Even my straight filipino fiance loves their fillipino meals 😋

Want to love - I'm basing this review off three things 1. Food (taste, portion, price), 2. Delivery and packaging, 3. Customer support. 1. Food I would give 4 stars. Some meals are definitely better than others, but this can be very preferential based on your own tastes. Overall the portions, freshness, and flavor we're very good. 2. Delivery and packaging (which they use third party services) in my area has been a nightmare. I've had issues with every single one of my orders either the meals were open and spilled all over, or meals were missing. Not a good experience to have to clean up and throw away contaminated meals. 3. Customer support - 5 STARS - their support team is awesome and was always quick to remedy any issues with my order. All in all - I'd would recommend their meal service, but with caution regarding delivery and you may not receive all the meals.

I have been subscribing to cook unity since the very beginning, around 1.5 years, and it is absolutely the best thing service there is. The meals are delicious and with over 350 options every week- you can even search by diet. Each meal is made by private chefs and they feature new meals often so you can experience new recipients from your favorites. These Michelin star chefs and meals are single portion, and also cost far less then me having to go to a supermarket and prepare my meals. I don’t know of any other place in NYC where I can have a nutritious meal with the freshest ingredients delivered to my doorstep every week. It saves me significant time and money and is consistently delicious. Even though the company has grown, I have not seen any decrease in quality from the meals themselves, the delivery service, or the customer service. I am so grateful for Cook Unity and would recommend it to anyone!

I've been ordering with cook unity for over a month now. The food is amazing quality. Great portion sizes, pre made healthy meals that takes mins for a good lunch or dinner. Best part no dishes. I highly recommend cook unity.

I have tried every food service under the sun including all those that prep but that you cook and several ready to eat after heating. Cook Unity is fantastic! There is a great selection of food of every variety. You can sort by diet, cuisine and other filters. My husband and I eat totally different diets and I love that it's so easy to mix and match. I think most of the meals require less microwave time than I'm used to so I suggest you start at 2 minutes and add more if needed. If you have the time, you can oven bake or use a toaster oven. Operations are generally good. Lots of spicy options if you like it hit. Many ethnic food which is so nice! My one suggestion would be to put the meals for which there is an up charge at the end of the searching. They are interspersed right now and it's confusing when selecting. Give it a try, you will be happy you did.

  • 4/5 Eugene W. 7 months ago on Google
Delicious food options, nutritious and easy to prepare. Love this aspect. I did cancel my account today because this is the 3rd time I'm unable to meet the cutoff point, and charged for meals that I won't be able to enjoy. Would provide an option for customers to place order for the week rather than auto-filling the cart. I can't recommend the model to friends or family. I get that this is a business and there's a revenue opportunity for missing the cutoff time - but it's not a customer focused/centric model, the optionality would be welcomed. If this is amended, I'd love to join again.

So far, all my meals have been amazing! I love the concept, the quality, packaging, flavor and options they offer. It honestly feels fresh and so far every single dish has been tasty and filling. I would love to see low calorie breakfast in the near future! 🫶🏼 also dessert option would be so wonderful. Thank you CookUnity, you guys are awesome.

My spouse and I have been using another prep meal service for years. I saw an ad for CookUnity and decided to try it out to supplement our other meal service. The difference with CookUnity is that they have all the meals ready to go. You can pop in the oven or for speedier time, you can microwave. I have to say CookUnity is a game changer for someone like me who is always on the go. First, CU offers a wide variety of meals and the selection is quite extensive. The meals are thus far are fantastic and the flavors and quality of the meals are top notch. I especially like that business model where they have multiple chefs with varying cultures. The portions are generous and packaged well. I have not had any issues with delivery, quality, or taste. I am looking forward to future meals and I highly recommend trying out CookUnity.

I use to subscribe to CookUnity and overall I would recommend it to others. Pros: *The food is really good. *They have a huge selection of meals to fit different diets.(vegetarian, low calorie, high fat, keto, etc.) *Customer service is awesome. If there was ever an issue with our shipment, the problem was handled immediately. *Convenience. You reheat most meals in the microwave or oven. Cons: *Calorie counts are questionable. This is the reason why my husband and I decided to cancel. We both workout and track our calories and macros. There would be a meal that we would think was a certain amount of calories, then a few weeks later the website would update the count to something else. This was annoying, but not a huge problem, because while we were using it my husband was trying to bulk up and build more muscle mass and he was able to do so working out and eating the CookUnity meals. Some might consider the meals pricy. They are about $11 per meal. This is all relative though, because my husband and I felt this was reasonable based on our monthly grocery budget. If you don't have time to cook, this is definitely a great option to try out.

I am in my second week ordering from CookUnity. I am amazed by the fresh ingredients used. This is not your average pre-packaged meal... these meals are gourmet! I don't like to cook and was eating a lot of fast food. With CookUnity, I know I am getting nutritious, fresh food cooked and seasoned to perfection.

I just received my first delivery from Cook Unity Food service and so far so good. I love that they send you a text so that you can track when the driver is in route to you. Then I loved that it doesn't come in a cardboard box but in an insulated reusable carry bag.I had my first meal and it was quite delicious. Hanger steak with pineapple ginger sauce with cilantro rice. Job well done can't wait to try more....
