My husband and I travel using many bed and breakfast, the River House is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Karen & Keith are genuinely caring people who do whatever it takes to assure your stay is enjoyable, Hospitality, accommodations and cuisine are all outstanding and excellent location less than 5 mi walk to Ellijay downtown ,this property is overlooking the Ellijay river.We left today but definitely come back and visit.

This is a MUST for the seasoned or occasional traveler. I stayed 2 nights and wish It coujj my d have been more. Keith and Karen were so kind and helpful! You can walk to just about anywhere! I chose to remain in my room and have alone time! It was perfect! The private rooms and baths were super clean and decorated.

I have been there twice. Actually this last time I went my boyfriend now fiance asked me to marry him there!! It's such a beautiful place to stay! The owner's (Karen & Keith) are awesome and so friendly, I just love them both! If you want somewhere quiet, cute, and romantic this is the place!

Beautiful and historic B & B right on the Elijay River. Keith and Karen were fabulous hosts. We were visiting from Florida for our 40th Wedding Anniversary. On the way up we had a bottle of champagne come uncorked EXPLOSIVELY in the back of the mini-van, getting on our clothes and everything. Upon arriving what does Karen do? She takes our clothes and washes them. Keith fixes these fabulous breakfasts and always had coffee ready and waiting early in the morning before breakfast. We would get a cup and sit down by the river watching the groundhogs, geese, wood ducks, a wren building a nest, tree swallows, and dozens of songbirds. Lots of great nooks in crannies in and around this historic home. You can relax as much as you'd like or explore the town and nearby mountains. Great restaurants within an easy walking distance. Karen and Keith made our stay very memorable. We can't recommend them enough!

Without question one of the best B&Bs we've had the opportunity to stay. Karen and Keith are absolutely top shelf hosts. The walk to downtown Ellijay is 4-5 minutes. Keith/Karen know every restaurant, antique store and cafe in town. Their knowledge of the surrounding area saved us tons of time and allowed us to visit many more locations than if we were on our own. Waking up to what I would call a gourmet breakfast of local food was spectacular. If you have the chance to visit, please spend an afternoon on the deck by the river. They have done a great job with the rooms and the new private bathrooms. The conversation with the other guest in the morning was lively. We compared the previous days adventures leading to more local knowledge of what to visit next. Every day ended with an evening at a winery. Keith even suggested a trip to the Buckley winery for open mic nights. It appears this is the hotspot on these nights for all the locals. Very cool. So yes, I would say we had a great time and were made to feel as if we were family visiting family. During our stay we wanted for nothing. By the way Karen/Keith make homemade desserts every evening that are super good.

We had a quite wonderful stay at the Ellijay River House. Karen and Keith are so very friendly, gracious and hospitable. The breakfasts were delicious. Ellijay town is just a short walk from the house and quite nice, worth a visit.

Two of my friends and I stayed here for a Christmas “girls weekend”. The Wildflower room was perfect for the 3 of us and the beds were very comfortable. It was our first time staying at a B&B and Karen and Keith made it a wonderful experience! The initial tour of the property + their warm & welcoming energy make you feel comfortable immediately. The house is decorated BEAUTIFULLY and everything is pristinely clean! The modern designs mixed with the house’s historic charm make it the perfect getaway (especially at Christmas time!). It is clear that there is lots of love and care put into the house and every part of the experience. The breakfast and evening desserts were delicious! And the location was great - walking distance to all the downtown shops and restaurants. I highly recommend the Ellijay River House and would definitely love to visit again in the future! We enjoyed our stay at the Riverhouse! It was our first B & B. It did not disappoint. The hospitality was great. Keith and Karen were perfect hosts. Wonderful breakfasts cooked by Keith and delightful desserts by Karen. The house and surroundings were also spot on. We will be back and spend more time there next time. I would highly recommend it.
