I'd experienced my first case of (extreme) vertigo...for a week! I booked an appointment with Dr Alverez. They were very polite but offered no assistance or suggestions unless it was "bothering me for a few more weeks... then come back". I can't afford to be out of work for a month, so I found my own resource via "Apex Wellness". Dr. Tiffany Lamonde provided IMMEDIATE results the first treatment! I am including her info in case anyone needs it. Vertigo is miserable and I would hope others can benefit as well! #vertigo

Edited: They called me back about this and were empathetic, so adding another star, but the issue of being quoted one price and having to pay 2x that is still an issue. I understand insurance is tricky and there's no guarantee, but I made it clear I was hesitant to do the balloon sinuplasty for the $800 they quoted me. A year later, after insurance, I've paid $1600. This is still ridiculous. Communication needs to be better and for people who don't have $2k to throw on procedures, it needs to be cautioned that the out of pocket might be more. I appreciate the company for reaching out to me, but it doesn't absolve the trouble I've had both trying to communicate with their billing department and trying to understand why I am now paying twice as much.

Wow. Find another practice that respects your time. Read the other 1 and 2 star google reviews - they echo my experience with customer service and management. In particular, look at recent reviews, they are all quite poor. Read the Yelp reviews on ENT Institute too. Today was my third bad experience with ENT Institute. I was told in my pre op appointment I would have to arrange a ride and someone to wait with me during procedure. Great. I did. When i got confirmation call yesterday however, I was told I could Uber home, just to tell them when I arrived that I would schedule an Uber. Great! I cancelled my ride and saved them the hassle. When i arrived this morning, there was no receptionist at the office just a tablet, so after I sat there for an hour, I was told that i actually couldn’t Uber, that someone indeed had to be there so I couldn't get the procedure, lol. I am a single parent so securing a ride, childcare, arranging time off work, are a big deal for me and took a lot of effort. So, I’m out the $250+ I already paid for the procedure ahead of time, meds, copays to prep for procedure, plus $50 in Uber rides, and all the time, but no procedure. I was very much looking forward to the procedure to help me with sinus issue. Previously, I had an appointment with the Brookhaven office for a CT scan where I sat for 2 hours in the waiting room before being told the CT scan was broken and needed to reboot, and asked to come back in an hour, lol. So I switched to the Alpharetta office. Then I had an experience in the Alpharetta office where the nurse was late (she was sent to the wrong office by management that morning) and everyone had a 2–3-hour delay. Oops. Things happen, I understand, I didn’t complain. But today's experience was ridiculous and frustrating. As a customer, I don’t feel like my time, money and effort are valued at all, and makes me skeptical as to how my health and well-being are valued as a patient. I will pursue my health care options with another practice and suggest others do the same. (Also, their billing department is unable to give me an itemized list of costs and services provided for my 125-plan reimbursement. All they can give me is a list of appointment dates and receipt for what I paid, not enough for my 125 plan to reimburse me. I find this weird that they cannot, but it means I cannot be reimbursed for $355 I paid for medical services.)

My two sons had an appointment with Joel Alexander wasn’t very pleasant or too friendly with my children he seemed frustrated and irritated and annoyed. My eldest son went back for a hearing test and I guess because he looked at his phone Frankie Walls who completed his test was making nasty faces at him. She never returned with results. Not sure if it was me. But everybody felt the energy. It wasn’t inviting

If I could give this doctors office a zero I would. First of all, they act really prejudice. My son and I arrived for his appointment and the receptionist never turned around to acknowledge or greet us. After signing my son in, he was called to the back. The ENT doctor did nothing but look up his nose and write a prescription for nasal spray, when the issue is deeper than that. I paid what was owed with my debit card. My son gets a call today saying he owes $269. I will be calling them tomorrow to handle this situation. Save your time and money and go to a more professional ENT office that cares for their patients because clearly this ENT office doesn't.

I've had a bad experience with this clinic. I went in to get my tongue checked for discoloration in a spot. It was just a regular consultation. They billed me for consultation plus an extra $316 for nasal endoscopy. During consultation, Dr Carothers asked if I have allergies. I said I have seasonal allergies. He voluntarily peeked into my ears and nose with what appeared to be a small handheld flashlight. I was not aware I will be billed for a nasal endoscopy. I did not go in for that. I tried to work with them but the clinic refers me to billing. And billing refers me to admin. And admin refers me back to clinic. Cant get anyone to have a reasonable conversation to get this sorted out. It is frustrating to say the least. He did not have an answer for the tongue discoloration and I'm having to waste my time and pay over $500 out of pocket. I do not recommend this place. I read few other reviews here and others have complained about an unexpected $300 bill for a nasal scope. This is a regular, bad practice by this place.

This hospital has many branches all over the place ,I thought I could be treated near my place in Lawrenceville BUT the real big treatment can be done in Alpharetta. Very frustrating. And I had my right ear clogged with water so I had CT SCAN and Sinus surgery ,Dr said allergy caused the problem and need surgery. and the right ear cured BUT I have another problem (ringing both ears). So I told to the doctor But he said it's my heredity. If that is right ,how come I didn't have ringing both ears BEFORE the surgery? After then I contacted the doctor but never answered my email.

Jennifer and the team in physical therapy are amazing. I had been to the Mayo clinic and Emory for help with little success. Jennifer took a personal interest and has tailored a rehab program that is working to bring my life back to normal. She has the experience, personal touch, and caring that will help you overcome the obstacles along the way. I am very pleased with her and the entire team. An update after a year post rehab - I am able to effectively manage any recurrence of my symptoms by using the skills learned from Jennifer and the team. They gave me my life back!!! They are an amazing group of caring individuals

My 1st Dr I was seeing and did my surgery was understanding made sure I understood what he was doing and showed me he cared . Now the 2rd Dr wouldn't listen or communicate with me. Nor did he help me find a infection control Dr after several infections from the 2 surgery. All in all its a great place with a so so apple

Do not waste your time coming here! I am experiencing extreme vertigo and lightheadedness, and the doctor saw me for less than 5 minutes. The only thing he told me was “I think it’s an inner ear problem” and to “see someone in their PT department” to find out what is actually wrong with me. These people have no sympathy for their patient’s symptoms nor their time. I am so frustrated I was miserable for a week waiting for my appointment, only to be told I would have to wait another week before they could get me in to the PT department. Do not waste your time with these people, go somewhere that is actually concerned about your well-being and safety. Edit: my doctor was Joel Alexander. According to other reviews, Dr. Alexander has a history of underserving and underestimating his patients. I would highly recommend anyone against seeing him. No wonder he was the first available doctor!

This is the first time I've had a doctor walk out of the examination room mid sentence and walk down the hall continuing the conversation. The FIRST. I guess the expectation was after 5 minutes or so, that I should follow him out of the examination room to continue the conversation as we walk down hall and end the appointment? Nope. I sat right there ready to continue saying "hello". He never return. It's unfortunate because their PT department is OUTSTANDING but the office is THE WORST.

Do not go here. It was just one red flag after another. The PA that originally started my first appointment, couldn’t figure out why her machine wasn’t working and left the room to consult with coworkers- it wasn’t plugged in. The dr immediately suggested having my tonsils removed and a septum surgery, and asked me to come back for a ctscan and sleep study. He also prescribed me antibiotics, nose spray and anti acids to “try” to clear up my snoring. I mentioned to my PCP that he prescribed antibiotics and she was concerned by this. I showed up for my appointment for the scan and to get the machine to take home, for the receptionist to tell me not only was my appointment was canceled, no one called my insurance to confirm the sleep study was covered so I would have to come back again. I went back yesterday and was told I had a $75 charge to pay before they would see me. I paid it thinking it was for a copay and then was told I owed $320+ for the sleep study equipment before they would release it to me. I canceled right then and there since I had a letter from my insurance that the ct scan and study were covered. When I got home last night I had a letter from this office stating the $75 was from my “missed” appointment. Their billing department doesn’t answer the phone and has a full VM so who knows if I will ever see that $75 again. Just stay away.

I absolutely love the ENT institute. Dr. Carothers is so nice and patient whether I’m coming in for an appointment or visiting with his nurses for allergy shots. The entire staff is always so nice and friendly. They always make sure I am completely comfortable and taken care of. If you’re suffering from anything ear nose or throat related, I highly recommend visiting Dr. Carothers and his lovely staff.

Worst experience ever. I visited the Hearing Center at ENT Institute via a referral from my PCP for tinnitus and high frequency hearing loss. They made me have a high-cost consultation exam before visiting the audiologist which was an additional charge. They prescribed top of the line Phonak hearing aids which they said would alleviate the tinnitus and allow me to hear conversations in crowded situations better. I purchased them through the Hearing Center but they did neither. The did allow me to hear the high frequencies in music, but it sounded artificial. After a year, one of the hearings aids would not charge properly so I wanted to have it sent to Phonak under the 3 year warranty. I was told by Phonak that I had to go through the provider. So I contacted The Hearing Center and told them of the issue. They wanted to schedule another office visit but I didn't want to incur the additional cost just to sent them out for warranty repair. So I brought them into the office and dropped them off. When I got home, they called me and said there would be $50 charge to send them to the Phonak. They hadn't told me of that charge up front so I said I would come in and pick up the hearing aids. I asked if the office was open and they said yes and it would be open until 5:00 pm. It was 4:25 pm so I left immediately and arrived at the office 15 minutes later but they were closed. I was fairly livid at this point and talked to a manager about my frustration with the lack of service and wrong information. The manager was sympathetic and said they would waive the $50 fee and send them in for repair. She said it would take 1-2 weeks. I agreed. After 2 weeks of hearing nothing (no pun intended), I called in to get a status and it turns out they had NOT sent the hearing aids in for repair. They were still sitting in their office! So I called the office but was not able to talk to anyone and left a VM said that I would just come in and get my $1,200+ hearing aids. I didn't get a call back after 24 hours so I called again and asked to speak to the manager of the practice. I have still not heard back from anyone, so I guess my next call is to a lawyer and launch a social media campaign. This is not a well run practice. If they can't handle this simple task, how can you trust them with your health care?

I have been going to the Alpharetta location for my allergy testing for a couple months now, and could not be happier! Dr. Carothers and his team with Brook and Hailey are always incredibly quick and in a great mood. 10/10 service without fail!

I came to see Dr. Carothers with ear fullness and fluid in my ears. He was very quick, thorough, and had great bedside manner. He identified and treated my issue instantly. I love the ENT institute. I will be sure to come back to see Dr. Carothers and his friendly staff for all of my ENT needs.

Have been coming to this office for over a decade. They are great with treating allergies. I had to have surgery multiple times for sinusitis and nasal polyps. This year, polyps went as far as blocking my tear duct and we thought I had to have another surgery. Though thanks to advanced technologies, like Xhance spray & Dupixent injections, my symptoms cleared up and I was saved from another procedure!

The worst! The three star is for the nurse who was courteous and professional. Doctor Alexandre spent literally less than 2 minutes, literally, with me and told me since I was not having any symptoms currently there’s nothing he could do and told me to go home. I’ve been experiencing noises in my ear for days and hearing loss, asked him what may have been, his answer “I don’t know. You’re good to go”, then all but shove me out the door. Didn’t answer any of my questions. Simply awful through and through. Do not come here!

Excellent experience with Dr. Carothers and his staff. The complaints of others here are unwarranted and neglect the fact that he's a busy surgeon. Dr. Carothers helped me with a deviated septum and will be forever thankful for his help. If you need quality and punctual care come see Dr. Carothers.

I had the pleasure of seeing Sajani Patel today. Her bedside manners were 10/10. I did go in a little nervous because I wasn't sure what procedure needed to be done with my ear. I am so greatly that she was the person to assist me. Excellent service!

DO NOT GO HERE. This office is an absolute joke. I had called 3 TIMES to verify they accepted my grandma’s insurance and was told that it was accepted. Showed up to the appointment on time, signed in and 10 minutes into waiting, the front desk tells me that Denise in the billing department just notified her that my grandmas insurance isn’t accepted. I explained that we checked with both her insurance company and this doctors office 3 times and both said it was accepted. I explained that I would not have made the appointment to begin with if her insurance wasn’t accepted. I asked her kindly to check again with the billing department and try to run it a different way. 20 minutes later the front desk tells me, “yes we can see her.” 10 minutes roll by and no one calls her back. Three people who have arrived after us are seen so I ask if she will be seen today. The front desk kindly explains that audiology is backed up but she should be seen shortly. Probably in the next 5 minutes. Mind you it’s 40 mini past the appointment time. We wait 10 more minutes and NO ONE SHOWS UP. 50 MINUTES PAST THE APPOINTMENT TIME. I told the front desk that we cannot stay any longer because I have a meeting to get to and she has the audacity to ask if I’d like to reschedule the appointment. Are you kidding me? Absolutely not. This is a joke. The front office communication is literal trash and I can’t even tell how the providers were because WE NEVER SAW ANYONE. Listen to the other reviews and don’t waste your time.

They will charge you extra fees without disclosing them. Very unprofessional experience. They rushed my whole appointment and had me out in 15min and then charged a "surgery fee" which apparently applies even if they look in your ear with a light.

  • 1/5 Ashley C. 1 year ago on Google
You have to sign a consent form to be nickled and dimed to death for 'routine' procedures that should be included in the ENT appointment. Be expected to cough up a copay IN ADDITION to an extra $300 for a 'routine' nasal scope. Expect this for other mininal procedures. Do not come here. They're not upfront with costs and you'll be taken advantage of finanically.

What a fantastic company. Same day appointments, no waiting in line. I would highly recommend the ENT Institute to anyone and even showed my aunt who is having trouble hearing this location. They have a hearing center in almost every clinic. Dr Pack gave her her hearing back with affordable instant hearing aids. It brought tears yo our eyes. Only place to go in atlanta for your ear nose and throat needs!

Worst place to get treatment they tell you one price and come up with another after they do the procedure. They dont communicate what time commitment you are going to have to do with treatments they recommend. They will also treat you like you are the bad guy when you call the billing department to ask why the prices are so high for something that in the office was sold to you for $300

  • 1/5 Madison T. 1 year ago on Google
I've never felt more brushed off by a doctor in my life. Dr. Alexander talked to me for maybe 5 minutes and I felt like he didn't care at all. I'm not sure if he assumed because I'm younger, my hearing loss and tinnitus "can't be that bad" and he just told me it would go away and utilize a sound machine and said sorry I can't help you and left the room.
