What
a
misnomer!!
I
was
scheduled
for
an
audition
last
week.
As
a
potential
member
of
the
worship
team
(Mesa
campus)
I
came
thoroughly
prepared
(musically,
mentally,
in
proper
attitude
and
especially
spiritually)
for
this
audition.
Beforehand,
I
submitted
all
and
everything
required
of
me
(performance
samples,
brief
personal
description
and
references)
on
time
as
requested
of
me
by
their
worship
"leader".
I
was
punctual
to
the
core
in
all
the
required
sections,
even
before
my
supposed
audition.
But
once
I
arrived,
I
can
honestly
state
that
I
have
never
been
treated
with
such
disdain,
disrespect
and
contempt.
1st
of
all
I
was
instructed
to
be
present
at
6pm.
I
was
there
by
550pm
and
that
rehearsal
started
at
630pm
sharp.
1st
red
flag,
actual
rehearsal
didn't
start
until
740pm.
2nd
red
flag,
I
now
truly
believe
the
worship
"leader"
had
no
genuine
desire
for
me
to
even
be
there.
When
I
told
him
I
already
had
my
wireless
mic
ready
to
connect
(of
which
he
instructed
me
to
bring
to
the
audition)
he
then
informed
me
he
had
no
intentions
to
connect
me
to
their
house
sound
system
at
all.
I
couldn't
understand
his
reasoning
for
this
change
as
this
was
a
huge
stage
and
large
auditorium.
All
the
other
instruments
(bass,
lead
and
rhythm
guitars,
and
the
drum
set)
were
appropriately
mic'ed.
As
a
result
these
instruments
were
loud
over
the
sound
system
that
drowned
me
out.
3rd
red
flag,
I
was
instructed
by
the
worship
"leader"
to
sit
in
the
auditorium
side
and
wait
for
me
to
be
officially
called
up
to
perform
(audition)
with
the
band.
By
815pm,
I
realized
I
was
being
played
for
a
fool.
Since
6pm
I
had
been
on
time
and
was
more
than
prepared
for
this
audition.
I
then
tried
to
pack
my
instruments
and
leave
quietly.
I
was
noticed
by
the
worship
"leader"
and
didn't
even
ask
why
I
was
leaving.
Up
to
this
point
in
time
I
haven't
been
contacted
by
their
"leader"
for
a
kind
and
reasonable
explanation,
a
responsible
and
respectful
apology
or
even
a
simple
"thanks
for
showing
but
we
don't
need
you".
This
was
by
far
a
complete
waste
of
my
time
and
effort.
All
this
could
have
been
avoided
if
at
the
very
first
of
contact
their
worship
"leader"
would
have
just
simply
and
politely
informed
me
he
was
not
interested
in
auditioning
an
older
and
well
experienced
Sax/Flute
player.
