⚠️ALERT⚠️ meat eater review of a vegetarian eatery will commence... ... Now 👀 I'm venturing out of my meat eating, animal product consuming, farm/ranch raised roots (thank you sweetheart 😘 for broadening my horizons). So, just know that if you are with me on this journey of trying new things Urban Fresh is a fantastic place to venture. I had the 🍄 burger and not only was it filling but it's one of the top 3 no meat burgers I've tried so far. I did get a bite of the dark chocolate and cherry scone and wow! And just FYI they cater 👍 I heard good things about the spinach wrap and the green berry smoothy too 😉. If that's not enough to get some of my fellow carnivores to join me in trying a meatless meal I don't know what will 🤔 - do it, try it, be brave 💪.

I come here regularly, at least once a week, and am so grateful for the wonderful food offered at Urban Fresh every day. Their specials are diverse, creative, and delicious. The soups are flavorful (that creamy roasted tomato soup blows my mind!!), and the taco salad? A work of art! Go. Talk to Chauncey. He'll steer you right. :)

I really wanted to like this place, but it just wasn't for me. I'm still learning my way around Tucson, and I didn't realize it was Downtown and I would have to pay for parking. The parking took a lot of my time, and I was already racing a clock. I took my food to go, but ran out of time and had to eat my lunch later in the day. The salad didn't hold up well on those couple hours. I'm really not sure what the goopy topping was, but it was pretty gross and I ended up throwing the salad away after a few bites. I just couldn't eat it. I think that's probably the first meal I've had to throw away. I will usually eat my food even if I don't love it. I'll assume this is better when fresh, but I still don't think I'll go back.

Five years ago, as we ventured through downtown Tucson in pursuit of a plant-based dining experience, we were met with a closed door of our first choice, leading to an unexpected gem – Urban Fresh. In the realm of second choices, this one turned out to be nothing short of remarkable. Having sampled vegan fare in various cities around the country, I can genuinely say that Urban Fresh holds a special place in my heart. Whenever I visit Tucson, it's become a must-stop. We wholeheartedly recommend Urban Fresh to our friends and colleagues who visit Tucson. The owner and staff treat each visitor as if they were an extension of their own family. The true measure of a restaurant's excellence lies not just in its wonderful dishes, but in the way it makes you feel. Every visit is a memorable experience. Stop in and you’ll see, Urban Fresh will beckon you with open arms and a menu that's nothing short of plant based excellence.

Food was fresh and delicious. The specials of the day were reasonably priced and included great tasting healthy drinks with free refills. The strawberry scone I bought for dessert looked delicious; however, it was undercooked which was disappointing. It's my second time here. I will give it another try.

Amazing! From the moment you walk in the energy is always great and you can tell they put this same energy into the food. The owners are very kind. I like getting the lunch special. The dish includes a side and a drink and as their menu consists of whole foods, the options are always extremely creative and balanced nutritionally. I have even had instances here of dishes I absolutely loved, that I didn’t even used to like before eating plant based. If I could eat here daily I would 😂 Also the raw veggie tart is SO good and filling!

Within hours of getting to Tucson, the impeccably crafted food and warm-hearted people at Urban Fresh had us travelers feeling like we were at home! We’re on a long bicycle tour with our dogs, and the owners & staff noticed our bike setup and came out to chat and give fresh water & homemade sweet potato treats to the dogs. The Reuben was easily the most satisfyingly umami plant-based sandwich I’ve ever had; the house-made seitan “pastrami” packs a flavor punch. The pad Thai wrap is equally delicious, with intense nutty-gingery sauce and the kind of crisp veggies I most crave when I’m on the road. Oh and the vegan cupcakes? They’re dense, moist morsels of dessert heaven. We especially loved the frosting on the berry zinger, which tasted just like a strawberry smoothie! Huge thanks to Urban Fresh for the generosity and amazing food!! It’s clear that this eatery serves a community and does it with heart. We strongly recommend it, to vegans or flexitarians or anyone, even an avowed carnivore should be happily surprised by the hefty, healthy sustenance here!

First vegan restaurant and it was amazing. Even got some homemade sweet potato scones. The tea was also tasty and the service was impeccable. We will be back!

This place is awesome! I was skeptical at first (I’m an Omnivore & this is the only place my very strict vegan cousin will go - I figured fairly boring vegan food). I WAS WRONG!!! Everything I’ve had / tasted here has been fantastic, full of flavor & filling, but not heavy! Lately my husband has been having lunch there & tried the blueberry, watermelon, mint lemonade - and he’s been going on & on about it. Ok honey… But he brought me some home today - it’s insane!!! Naturally sweet, refreshing & the combination is nothing short of heavenly! Do yourself a flavor & add it to your order! 😉 Thank you for being such a great restaurant!!!

As a vegan it can be difficult to find vegan options sometimes. And even more difficult to find unique options that are also nutritionally dense! They have absolutely nailed it. Plus their kindness in guiding us to vegan options and kind words about my friend in the ICU solidified that we will be back many times during our stay here in Tucson. You absolutely should try this place. We all loved our food and especially loved our BLTs!

So far so great! I've been here four times now and keep getting impressed. From the BLT to the juices to the wraps.. this is a must try for anybody who enjoys flavorful food!

We are in love with Urban Fresh and can't wait to return. The food is Fresh, healthy and delicious. Even the corn chips for my chiliquiles were baked instead of fried, allowing for a tastier meal and the chance to savor the rich flavors without being heavy and fried. Simply delicious. My hubby got the biscuits and gravy, which were incredible. The gravy was outstanding and different from other kinds we have tried. We got two raw items to go to eat on the road for lunch and they held up great and were outstanding. Words can't do justice to how amazing the onion tart with walnut/pecan crust tastes - one of the top vegan items I have ever enjoyed. The collard green wrap with Sunflower pate blew my mind it was so flavorful! And then there are the baked goods... omg! Flavorful cinnamon roll and out of this world good scone. And the staff were wonderful and the owners/cook were there, too, and so kind. In addition to incredible food, we got wonderful tips on places to explore in beautiful Arizona and tips for parking in downtown tuscon next time we come through. Grateful for an amazing culinary and personal experience 🙏

Wow, I am not a vegan but this place was seriously fantastic. I will be coming back to try other dishes, there were too many to try! I had their okra gumbo and Bombay burrito- finished both. This place is proof you don't need meat to have seriously delicious food. And I got to eat a lot of veggies 😋. Win win. Definitely come by and try it if you love food.

Best lunch spot in all of Tucson! They have a variety of food options and everything I've tried is quality and tasty. They also have breakfast food but I have not tried it yet. Service is superior. Clean. Quick and convenient. Option to sit inside or outside. My only wish is that they were open more!

Had a wonderful lunch experience there today. Everything was vegan, and flavorful and fresh, paired well the amazing blueberry watermelon lemonade. The outdoor seating is plentiful and offered a great view of downtown shenanigans. I feel like it was priced well for the quality of fresh food. Would highly recommend. Wow. Just wow. No more words. SO much food, with some fantastic tea, for the cost of a chain fast food burger? Bargain of the century. It’s healthy, service is immediate, everyone is super friendly. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We have tried a wide variety of vegan food and this was some of the most memorable, not just because of the food we tried but also our overall experience. We appreciate this being a vegan restaurant, options like the rice paper bacon which we do not often find, and how what we tried was fresh, delightful, and not greasy. Although there was a mishap, the individual at the cash register was sincere, apologized, and even offered us a drink. In our experience, when things like this happen, others are definitely not always honest, sincere, and apologetic like this and it really makes a difference, especially during an anguishing time for us. If only there were more places like this.

I'm not vegan but I love this place. The recipes they come up with are so creative- full of flavor and texture. The employees are nice too

My favorite place to get smoothies. It's not full of just fruit and sugar like most places. It has actual ingredients like cacao, nut butters etc.. I also love the pad Thai wrap, it's full of flavor. Employees are always friendly too.

I was delighted to find another vegan restaurant in Tucson! Urban fresh is unique and very good. It seems to be more health oriented, and they even had a raw section of the menu which was awesome! Everyone really enjoyed the food, the staff and atmosphere were great!!

Was visiting Tucson from out of town. Ordered the pad tai wrap. Was about to bite into the second half when I noticed a small fat worm in it. That was a crazy surprise and a little too organic for me. However, they were nice about giving me a full refund.

We had the BLT and Reuben plus the lemon cupcake and Chocolate Cranberry Scone!! I am blown away by how phenomenal this food is!! Probably the best meal I have had from a vegan restaurant in a while. The ingredients tasted so fresh and my body afterwards even felt great from the food. The bacon is the best vegan bacon I have ever experienced. I want to buy it in bulk!!🤣💃

This morning I made my way to Urban Fresh, and it’s been a while since I’ve been in! But let me tell you how satisfying my green goddess wrap was!! Not to mention my warm berry scone. It was AMAZING and I couldn’t get enough! If you are looking for something fresh and delicious this is the place! Great customer service! This place is great. If you're visiting Tuscon for the first time make this your first stop like we did. After a long flight we got refreshed and refueled on wraps, smoothies and juices. Then got ALL the local food recs and travel tips from Chauncey, the wonderful owner of this spot. He clearly has a deep affection for the city and the good food and people in it, and deserves all the loves he gets back.

Cannot recommend this place enough. I was introduced to Urban Fresh a few years ago, and it's become one of my favorite places to eat. Delicious and healthy recipes made with fresh ingredients, reasonable prices, welcoming atmosphere and wonderful staff and owners. They go all-out when it comes to providing truly healthy food, and you can tell they love what they do. Definitely a great place for vegans and omnivores alike!

Oh Urban Fresh, how I love thee. Just a stone's throw away from my office, this has been become a weekly staple in my lunch selection. Urban Fresh puts the "fresh" in "refreshing", let me tell you. They make your order on the spot with fresh ingredients, and have rotating delicious specials, in case their main menu isn't enticing enough for you. Often the healthy, vegan/vegetarian restaurant selections seem to be bored with their own menus, and lack the enthusiasm of creative recipes - but that's not the case here at Urban Fresh! The owner always has a smile on his face, and greets customers in a personal manner, where you truly feel welcomed and happy to support local. Highly recommend, I often order the Green Goddess salad, or Liquid Lunch juice.

He provided us with a list of vegan friendly restaurants and had us explore the oldtown neighborhood which we would have sadly missed if not for him. Highly recommend this spot!

I’ve been here a few times and everything has been great! I had the mushroom tofu burger once and it was awesome. My favorite so far is the Thai wrap, but I’m really curious about the BLT! I’m not a vegan but I love having tasty healthy options downtown. Fingers crossed they’ll have a dinner menu and dinner/weekend hours one day so I can bring my spouse who can’t make it during the week :)

This place is a downtown gem. The owners are always friendly and willing to explain anything, and every time I come in there are specials that I have to try. My favorite meal are the sweet potato pancakes, and the breakfast burrito is also pretty amazing too. Be prepared to see new specials and sometimes your favorite from the week before won't be there. But trust them then know how to make great Vegan dishes!

One of the best vegan places in town, had the biscuits and gravy in addition to the French toast. Both were fantastic. They serve a variety of meals using their own unique style as well as a full menu of fresh made smoothies and juices to suit any taste. The staff there are very friendly and the place is well kept. Been there several times and will surely be there many more times. Thank you for all of the advice on vegan options and keep up the great work!

What a healthy and delicious oasis in the middle of the Sonoran desert! My husband and I were in town for a half marathon (Revel Mt. Lemmon), and just as we would do before traveling to any city, we did some research on what to do and where to eat that would fit our plant-based and active lifestyle on the go. Urban Fresh was our first stop after picking up our rental car at the airport, and it set the tone for a wonderful few days in Tucson! We shared a Green Berry Smoothie, a Green Goddess Wrap and a Power Slaw. Absolutely delish, and so fresh! It was the perfect meal to fuel us up after a super early wake up to get to the airport and catch an early flight into Tucson, plus get some healthy nutrients into our bodies before the race. We were greeted by the owner, Chauncey, and about 10 minutes later we met his wife Dana too! She came out to introduce herself after learning that we were in town for the race that she herself was also going to be running! Dana, I hope you had a great run that morning! Wonderful local restaurant, friendly staff and gracious owners...what more could you ask for? They even had beautiful plants for sale for $8 from Dreamflower Garden. Yup...plants RULE, don't they? Amazing for the body and a treat for the eyes too. Thank you, Urban Fresh!

We skipped up on this place after looking for a Vegan restaurant after just starting a plant based diet and I can’t even find the words that describe this awesome joint well enough! From the young guy who took our order to the owner, they were so pleasant, friendly and helpful explaining their menu! Being unsure of what to order they offered us a sample of their Vegan Gumbo & Vegan Chili and it was delicious!!!! From our cinnamon roll to both my fiancé’s & I’s teas, his plant based burger everything was great. We live 30+ minutes away & it was beyond worth the drive! Can’t wait to go back & try other things.
