This place is awesome. Our tour guide was amazing, answered all our questions. If you love manufacturing, technology, etc you will love this tour. We brought our 2 year old and he had a blast looking at all the trucks, plus we got a free surprise at the end of the tour!

Hour long tour that seemed to go way too quick. Tour guide "Jim " was a wealth of information. I recommend getting there an hour before to watch the movie so you can understand and apply info from the movie to what you actually see on the tour. The equipment is massive,

I have been to the Discovery Center many times and I am always grateful that this wonderful place exists. The people that run the facility and the people that come to visit are very very nice and helpful with our journey for knowledge. Copper is an amazing metal and I believe ever good thing said about it. See for yourself...more to follow.

Outstanding and informative tour, hats off to ARARCO for sponsoring this and encouraging the public to visit and learn - most miners don't want to bother with the public. Very knowledgeable ex-teacher as docent. Scale of the mine (when you first get to the overlook, reminds you of the Grand Canyon) and equipment is incredible - and you get to see it in operation. If you have the least curiosity of what happens at a mine, put this on your list - you won't be disappointed.

Cynthia was a wealth of information and had a great sense of humor. If there’s an interest in learning more, I highly recommend the tour! It definitely gave a greater sense of appreciation for the copper we use in our daily lives. Thanks, Cynthia!

I wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. The gift shop had cute "junior" miner clothes. I got one for my nephew! Also, I got a photo with a real sized haul truck! Those things are huge and could probably crush a car no problem. It amazes me how much they are able to transport in the mine from day to day. The solar panels are neat and it was cool to hear about the sustainability projects with solar power going on with some of the mine land that isn't used any more. The building has its own panels but I guess there are other panels somewhere that contribute to Tucson's power. Overall, it was an educational experience to see how copper is everywhere!

So glad that we took a tour of this copper mine. First stop there was to go through the Discovery center and watch the videos which I recommend before you go on the actual tour so get there an hour ahead of your tour time and watch the videos it will enlighten you to what your tour guide is going to talk about. Also Cynthia are tour guide was fabulous and our bus driver was very nice also be sure to tip them after your tour. The gift shop is a definite must grab something for yourself or your loved one you will be so glad.

If you are interested in learning about copper and Mining this is an active mine. The things that copper are used for from Cars cell phones windmills and medicines it is such a useful product. Very large mining trucks and equipment on display. The staff and guides are very friendly and happy to answer any questions. It is definitely worth the stop and reasonably priced. Phill White

Charlie was our tour guide and knew everything about their operation and the mining process. Tremendously interesting and entertaining as well. Views of mine and and equipment were fascinating.

Very interesting operation. Disappointed in the tour guide, only on the job for 3 days. Totally unprepared for answers to many questions. Video should have been shown to our group before we left the visitors center. The video player at the crusher drum building had no sound. Tour guide couldn't get it work. Overall disappointed as compared to Titan Missile presentation.

All you could want to know about copper in the area. The tour leaves from here with well versed and knowledgeable guides. I was personally overwhelmed by the vast width and depth of the mining operation. The visit to the copper separation facility was awesome. Don't miss a visit as this is one of a kind.

As recommended, I called to make reservations for the tour. I was told by the extremely nice lady at the Discovery Center that they were not doing tours because they didn’t have a working bus so did not know when they would resume tours.
