First time trying this place and it was great! The owners are Australian and he and his daughter were both there and able to chat through the menu, talking about customization to the drinks and what were customer favorites. Very friendly! Lots of space to sit inside with some outdoor seating available. A little hard to find in the parking lot due to no sign on the building but there is a yellow flag on the corner marking the place which was helpful! All of us ordered the #25 which was a honey vanilla coffee drink (usually made with their house brewed cold brew), I opted for espresso and it was very good as well! They also have fun puppychino drinks for your dogs with whipped cream and homemade organic doggy treats! My dogs loved it! Thanks for a great first experience!

Awesome service, great tasting coffee. Homemade banana cinnamon roll was outstanding. Subtle sweetness allows you to still taste the coffee, which has nice uplifting fruity notes without added acidity. Tons of flavor options, cute interior decor. Informed and friendly service is so important, and this place nails it. There is love and dedication seeping out of every inch of this shop, hope to see it around for a very long time!

I absolutely adore Cup of Joey! We have been following them since they were a Coffee Truck that came by the Nationwide Offices in Scottsdale. A big part of why people come back and seek out this business is because of the owners - a father-daughter team that affectionately refers to themselves as Uncle Steve and Cousin Amy. They make you feel like family, and support their community through charity drives (one drive was selling kibbles for puppies to fund a high school sports team trip), holding Disney Princess parties, doing trivia nights and supporting school events. They also foster an environment where they want all members of the family to have fun - they have a little library in their shop and they have a little play area for the kids. And on the weekends, they do food offerings of hamburgers and breakfast burritos Australian-style using Australian spices and sausages. They are so delicious! We took advantage of the Build Your Own Burrito (eggs, Australian sausages and spices, onions, cheese, hatch green chilis, potato) and it was soooo good - not greasy or wet (as sometimes meat or cheese can make a burrito) just perfectly soft and savory. They also have THE BEST blueberry muffins and the fandoogly (basically an Australian savory pasty/savory pastry with eggs, cheese and a breakfast meat). And the star of the show are the drinks! The coffee is roasted by the Cup of Joey team, and it has such good flavor by itself. Their coffee options go from blended drinks, lattes, the usual coffeehouse assortment to flavored waters and energy drinks. All are delicious and for someone on a strict diet, the flavored waters were amazing. Also, something that is a recent development is...they are now a Pokemon Go stop! So you can refill your energy and your PoGo bag at the same time.

A wonderful shop hidden away! I came here looking to surprise for some of my loved ones with some AZ coffee, as they're in WA. The gentleman was so kind and so was the gal behind the counter! They made me laugh and feel like I had walked into a shop that felt like home. They explained the difference in beans, the best way to keep them fresh and tastey, and left me with a slogan for life. Left with a bag of coffee beans, a delicious drink, and a little part of Australia. Thank you both so much, you have a customer for life 🖤

Cup of Joey might be the best coffee house I have every visited. I started working next door this week and walked in to get some coffee. Within 30 seconds of walking in door, the owners greeted me and introduced me to their staff and welcomed me. The prices are very reasonable and the taste is bold. Today I walked in a second time and they remembered my name and welcomed me again. This is beyond customer service, this is like being at home with a cup of espresso. I will continue to be a loyal customer.

Cute little coffee shop. Delicious coffee and a huge selection of unique flavors. Everyone there was so friendly - just a great way to start the day.

I've found my new favorite coffee shop! This is the most genuine group of people and they serve up not just amazing food/drinks, but also human kindness. The owners were on site and are the sweetest most genuine people. If you are bored of the usual routine getting coffee or even a breakfast burrito, I highly recommend this place. You won't only leave with your order, but a smile as well. We will definitely be back!

We literally just went to this place for coffee while running some errands and needed a good cup to get us started for the day, and honestly it’s WONDERFUL! A fun atmosphere, the owner greeted us himself, and GREAT coffee! If you are in Mesa and want a great cup of coffee and friendly people you need to go to this coffee shop, and if you can take a picture with the crocheted koala!

What a nice 'local' coffee shop. You don't find that very often anymore, especially in such a thriving area. Coffee was good. On the dark side, robust flavor. All the flavors are named after Australian things, fun idea! Owner was so nice, and greets all the customers. We had a long conversation about what they are doing for the community. Strongly encourage trying out this place. Also, although I didn't get food, their breakfast offerings looked amazing!

Good strong coffee, amazing service, and the food was scrumptious! Our burritos were filling and the coffee is strong and delicious! Cup of Joey was recommended to us by our Airbnb host and we’re glad we tried it! Such great energy from the owner and all the staff. Great place to start your morning! Note: I believe the burritos are only available select days, so I would double check ahead of time if you are planning a visit with burritos in mind.

Amazing place with amazing people, service, and food. Some of the best coffee I've had. The best part about this place is that the owners are on-site chatting with you and showing that authentic, wonderful Aussie hospitality. The owners also make a huge effort to support local schools and other organizations. These folks have huge hearts and they wear them on their sleeves. 5 stars just isn't enough.

They give so much back to the community, and welcome everyone into their little corner of town with smiles and Aussie greetings! 10/10 recommend cup of Joey!

What an AMAZING experience with their coffee truck!!! I booked them for my staff appreciation day at Salk Elementary. We had around 85 orders to fill but it went so smoothly!!!! Mark & Alyssa arrived right on time, they were professional, friendly, patient, fantastic and efficient!!! A lot of us had never had their coffees or pastries before but they were all a hit!!!! Everybody said they were happy with their orders!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!

So glad we stopped in while passing by! We are visiting from Salt Lake or this would be my new regular coffee shop. Everyone was so friendly, the owner greeted us, gave menu recommendations and even let us try the cinnamon roll, I chose pistachio and it was so delicious! The coffee drinks were customizable, we just ordered regular and they were perfect. The right amount of sweetness and flavors! I'll be coming back next time we're in town to try more! Thank you for your hospitality and amazing coffee!

Have been a fan since the truck days, now they have a store with lots of options!! I tried the oatmeal and it's so good!!! And a fan of the Lotus energy as well!! But the Geelong is amazing if you need a coffee fix. 😀

Absolutely wonderful. If one needs to be concise and quickly describe this place… it would be absolutely wonderful. Immediately, when we walked in the door, we were greeted by the owner, Steve and his daughter, Amy. They were kind, thoughtful, and genuine. He is from Australia and asked us where we were from. He was curious and engaging in conversation. AND THEIR MENU - It’s extensive and exquisite. See photo lol. Not only do they have a multitude of flavors and combinations, they encourage you to “create your own” among the flavors they have in shop. Wonderful place. Wonderful people. We will be back whenever we are in town again. - MN Folks

As a former barista from a coffee roaster shop, this is hands down amazing coffee. There are very FEW places we drink coffee at in AZ and Cup of Joey is one! Not only are the people who work there personable and care about you they care about your dog too! ❤️ we love you guys!

Best coffee in town. Lots of fun flavors available but honestly their straight coffee is great on its own. The team is also very friendly and will chat with you when they’re not too busy. They even have a kids’ corner with books and toys.

Good espresso, friendly staff, chill environment. If you're looking for a new coffee shop, check em out. They have much better coffee and it's a way better alternative to being front-run by mobile orders and drive thru at the "bux".

    1. The entire staff and owner make you feel like you are family. 2. The coffee choices and options are fantastic. 3. The coffe is amazing. Not the burnt bitter coffee you get a chain coffee places. I encourage you to visit them and enjoy the coffee. I am so glad they moved into the neighborhood.

This place has given me the best coffee I've ever had. That's not hyperbole. It's quite literally the best coffee I've ever had. Their baked goods are incredible as well. The banana cinnamon roll is a slice of heaven.

'A Cup of Joey' is a newly opened coffee shop/cafe in Mesa next to Basha's Grocery Store on N. Ellsworth & Brown. Their huge selection of premium gourmet blends are ground fresh daily with an Aussie twist. Fresh off the success of their 'A Cup of Joey' coffee truck the friendly staff 'wow you' with custom brews and Grandma's recipe baked goods. Known to be dog friendly too. Drop by for out of this world coffee with an Aussie smile from co-owners Steve and his incredible Barista/daughter Amy. Tell them Rick D. Lucas sent you 'down-under!'

Stopped by a little after 12(was still open, maybe hours are incorrect online?) And was glad I did! Oh my goodness. I'm dairy free and they catered to that, had so many cold brew flavors and options.... I'll be back. And be recommending this to my friends and family. Be advised - your order may come with a pronunciation lesson in Aussie ☺️❤️

First time in and the whole staff was so friendly! The owner took the time to introduce himself, his family, and the staff they had working. There’s so many delicious flavors and they all have unique names. Definitely boosted my mood first thing in the morning!

Awesome place. We showed up and they had a closed sign up because there AC had died. The owner came out and told us they could take care of us. We got three different iced coffees all of which were awesome. Customizable drinks , milk options and sweetness levels if you’re in the area you gotta stop by the baked goods are also amazing.

Got some excellent cold brew here this morning - some of the best coffee in East Mesa. Definitely make time to check this place out.
