This cathedral is now (11/2021) closed for rehabilitation and remediation works. The former cathedral will be reformed to a cultural place. It was built in 1930 in Art Deco-style after a design from the French architect Paul Tournon as a Roman Catholic church. Since 1956, the independence of Morocco, it's no longer used as church. It's a beautiful Art Deco- style building.

The cathedral is closed for renovation. The guys working here want to get money from you for access to the cathedral yard (for taking pics). It's a pity that arab guys don't let you to the temple of your religion for free... Would like to see how they don't let Muslim guys to the mosque... With great pleasure

(Translated by Google) The Church of the Sacred Heart in Casablanca (French: Église du Sacré-Cœur de Casablanca, les de Sac Guj) is a church located in the Moroccan city of Casablanca. [1] It is wrongly known as the Casablanca Cathedral, and this name is wrong because the church was never a cathedral where a bishop had ever lived. Its construction was completed in 1930. After the independence of Morocco in 1956, it ceased functioning as a church due to the evacuation of the colonial community, but out of respect for the Christian religion it became a cultural center preserving its distinct European glory. The cathedral was designed by the French architect Paul Turnon, using the Neo-Gothic style. Yup, it's closed for renovation, no timing in site. Don't bother. Looks business like outside, nice park land around it.

The Casablanca church was constructed in 1930. The cathedral ceased its religious function in 1956, after the independence of Morocco. It subsequently became a cultural centre which is open to visitors. It has hosted numerous art exhibitions. The Institut Français in Casablanca even organized an electronic music night inside nave of the former church on October 10, 2015. The church was designed by French architect Paul Tournon, using the Art Deco style. It is commonly referred to as a cathedral, although in reality it has never technically been one as it was never the seat of a bishop.

Only open for a selected few. We saw the guard escorting two people into the church so we approached the locked gate to ask if we could go in. The guard told us the church is always closed and a few seconds later he let two men in while we were still there.

This church looks interesting from far away. But when you come closer to the church you will see, that it is closed. Barricades will even block your sight. When you finally get a view inside the complex you will notice, that the church is closed for quite a while. Broken windows, long grass and rubbish is everywhere. We went here to visit the church but that's impossible. Very disappointing (01.2020)
