IT'S MAGNIFICENT! Favorite visit in Casablanca by far. For only 130 MAD (13$) you get a one hour guided tour inside the mosque in French, English, Italian. I learned so much interesting facts! Make sure to visit at 9, 10, 11 am or 12 pm. You can't just enter whenever.

Will leave you breathless! Excellent setting by the ocean and can take a guided tour in all popular languages for the same price as the entrance fee. No additional cost. Best was pictures were allowed which is progressive as if something like this is built why keep it secret. Ticketing very efficient. Noted closed from noon to 3 pm each day so plan accordingly.

It's a wonder of Morocco. Second largest mosque of the world. Really impressively huge architecture building. Interestingly enterance is not free that this is the first time I've paid for enter a mosque. But this place is iconic in Morocco that's why I can recommend this place.

Loved it! It's even bigger and grander in person. The premises of the mosque aren't just beautiful but they carry a sense of peace. The cool sea breeze is just perfect. On your Morocco trip, I'd definitely recommend visiting Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca. Be mindful of prayer times as access will be restricted. Non-muslims are able to visit too. Either early morning or close to sunset makes for a wonderful time. If you enter after 5 pm, there is no entry fee for the premises. You may need to purchase a tour during the daytime hours to access the interior. There is no issue for capturing photos and videos with your phone but a with a proper camera - it will depend on who is patrolling the area. Some days, they don't care if you're shooting with a DSLR. Some days, they will object (especially during busy hours). I would avoid bringing tripods that could draw unnecessary attention. Please be respectful and dress appropriately (nothing too revealing).

Incredible experience. Worth the price. Most impressive mosque i have seen. The English tour guide was very professional and experienced. Answered all questions the group had. A must see place when visiting Morocco.

A really cool place, a must visit location in Casablanca. It costs about 130 Moroccan Dirham about 14USD. This is a rather modern construction but the architects and the workers have done just phenomenal craft work here. The English speaking guides were not great so you might want to catch up through other travel blogs for history. Since this mosque is also used for prayers watch out what time the prayers are since visitors and worshippers are not allowed together. Definitely hugely recommended.

Must see place in Casablanca. Huge, beautiful mosque by the sea. It creates nice silhouettes of the coastal line of the city. Has a huge courtyard. Detailed architecture and Morocco's finest craftsmanships. Interior very impressive. You can get inside unless it's time for Muslims to worship and pray to god. Even if they don't let you get in because of the praying time, just wait for it to be finished and you can get in. The people working there might not speak English. I think they are letting tourists in at the beginning of the each hour of the day. There is also a museum of mosque including parts that were originally meant for the mosque.

Absolutely stunning inside and out and a must see in Casablanca. Huge facility, stunning views with the ocean air. No entry fees needed unless you need a guided tour in a particular language (see mosque website). Very easy to get to and can walk to the site from the city center

Traveling during the pandemic has it's many downside risks, including having many attractions closed and tour cancellations on top of contracting the virus but one advantage is being able to photograph attractions without the throngs of tourists jostling for a spot. Enjoy this magnificent gargantuan mosque with traditional Moroccan ornate designs from the Corniche with freshly-squeezed orange-pomegranate juice.

This mosque on the water in Casablanca was one of the most beautiful and different religious places I have ever had the chance to visit. Even though it is often quite hot - it was 90 degrees (31 Celsius) the day I visited - both shoulder and knees have to be covered to enter. When there is service this Muslim house of worship has separate areas for men and women but if their is no worship you can explore all of the parts once you take your shoes off. In the main room you pad around the carpet and cool marble and make sure you head downstairs to see the Turkish style baths which are beautifully decorated and where worshipers clean themselves before prayer.

I walked 3km to Hassan II Mosque from where i stayed. This is the second largest mosque in Africa. Its minaret is 60 stories high and the laser light is directed to Mecca. The building stands partially on land and partially over the Atlantic ocean, walls are hand-craft marble. A real masterpiece by French architect Michel Pinseau. Its really worth visiting and I am truly impressed.

Amazing place, one of a few mosques in the country to allow non muslims access. It was very enlightening to visit on my own faith’s Good Friday, I had a contemplative experience. You get to learn about a people and country by visiting their places of worship. Magnificent.

Visited Casablanca Mosque and had an amazing experience with a private guided tour booked through the Get Your Guide app. The guide was knowledgeable, providing insightful information about the mosque's history and architecture. The personalised attention enhanced the overall visit, making it a memorable and enriching experience. Highly recommend this guided tour to truly appreciate the beauty of the Casablanca Mosque. Seen some guided tours were too fast and too many people.

An amazing oceanfront hotel which is one of a very small number of mosques in the Kingdom that tourists can actually enter inside. The architecture and workmanship both inside and outside the building structure is remarkable.

An impressive huge historical birthday celebration landmark monument right along the Atlantic ocean. The second largest functioning mosque in Africa and the 7th largest in the world. It's the world's second tallest minaret. A must visit landmark in Casablanca.

An awe-inspiring and majestic structure located in Casablanca at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. A true marvel of architecture. Although modern in age but deep rooted in history and architecture. Highly recommended for a visit if you find yourself in Casablanca Morocco.

Number 1 site to visit in Casablanca. I’ve there twice with guided tour and if you’re lucky, you’ll get very good 👍 tour. Worth to consider to go in the morning, when it’s not so hot ( summer time) and not many tourists. The massiveness of work and handcrafts are amazing.

Beautiful mosque which is built on water and on land. The queue to they the tickets was not long. And then we were transported by golf car near the mosque doors and then we were asked to come in and place our footwear in a bag provided. We had English tour guide who took us around and explained every bit very well. It was fascinating to learn about the mosque. Well organized place the only thing I would recommend is to get sustainable bags for the footwear so you dnt add to the landfill.

The mosque is huge and sumptuous but I wasn’t impressed. Those mosques in Istanbul are more beautiful for me. I also think that there is no need to come inside, if you visit a mosque before. BTW, I was so cold there as the excursion lasted for an hour and we were barefoot. If they spent so much money for building they could at least made floor heating as well.

Beautiful place to visit and take pictures. This is one of the only a few mosques that allows none Muslims to visit. However, in order to go inside the mosque, you need to follow the schedule and buy the ticket at the museum.

Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco is such a beautiful mosque and a must see if you are visiting Morocco! The architecture, the beautiful colors and the view is just breathtaking. I would have to say that it’s the most famous and top visitor site in Morocco. It has a beautiful ocean view and we were able to catch the sunset. It was a little chilly as the sun went down, thankfully I had a sweater, it got windy in the low 70s. We didn’t do the paid tour but it’s totally worth it to see all the hidden areas of the mosque that you won’t be allowed to see on your own. We couldn’t enter the mosque until it was close to prayer time, we headed downstairs to the Turkish bath area to make wudu (cleansing ritual before prayer). It was really beautiful inside with delicate architecture and chandeliers. After prayer, we enjoyed the sunset! It was such a beautiful evening to spend here.

I would recommend visiting this Moroccan Monument. It is free after every prayer. However, I’d recommend buying tickets for a guided tour as the mosque would mainly be reserved for the guided tour only. Moreover, you’d gain more info about the mosque and its history. Guides speak loads loads languages and are friendly as well. The ticket would cost about 6$ for locals, and about 13$ for tourists. I highly recommend this place as it is one of the best Moroccan monuments.

Such a breathtaking mosque from both the inside and out. Tickets weren’t expensive either and my family thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We also got to pray at the front of the mosque thanks to the security guard who let us in before the guided groups got in. Would highly recommend visiting this place when in Casablanca. It took us about 45 minutes to complete both the mosque and the museum. NOTE: It is not required to buy tickets in advance as majority of people were purchasing tickets at the site.

Really beautiful mosque right by the sea. Saw someone bathing directly in the ocean next to the mosque too. Apparently world's 3rd largest mosque. Muslims get in for free to pray, but you have to pay as a tourist to get a guide and take pictures. I didn't think our guide was really good. It felt like he wanted to get it over with and we didn't get to go up the minaret like what the tour describes. You must also go in with the tour at set times (check the website). The mosque itself is very beautiful. It was also nice watching the prayers happening from outside. There's also a nice little museum right next to it, although everything is in Arabic.

(Translated by Google) The city itself did not attract my attention although I understand that economically it is the most powerful city but the large space next to the sea and the mosque with its towering minaret is very spectacular despite being a modern building. Magnificent tile mosaics, there they still preserve that ceramic industry that we lost in Seville despite the fact that the tradition in the use of ceramic is common. (Original) La ciudad en sí no me llamó la atención aunque entiendo qje económicamente es la ciudad más potente pero el gran espacio junto al mar y la mezquita con su altísimo alminar es muy espectacular a pesar de ser un edificio moderno. (Translated by Google) The Hassan II Mosque, as seen from the air, with its gigantic construction on the banks of the Atlantic Ocean The mosque was partly built on the sea, depending on the Qur’an verse from Surat Hood (and his throne was on the water). The mosque is located on the coast of the Moroccan city of Casablanca, and is one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the world. It was inaugurated by the late King Hassan II in 1993, after a six-year construction process. Stunning architecture and views but not many activities going on in the mosque itself. The staff are a bit authoritative and even rude at times, they need proper training in people management. As for the Moroccan public policy of not allowing people who are not Muslim inside the mosque based on the Maliki School of law, I think this needs revising, or at least an exemption made for this mosque.

This place was absolutely amazing, the architecture was fabulous with ceiling decorations, magnificent columns and eloquent scripture. I was blessed to see such a fantastic sight. I can not wait to go back for prayer. I took the English tour with a guide. She knew all the questions our guide asked and was fluent in the language. I was excited to learn the history of such a magnificent place. This is the only mosque non-muslims can visit in Morocco, however you do not need to visit another one. Muslims pray free :) This is definitely a sight to behold and you should go to any extent to see it if you are in Morocco. About $15 a ticket.

THE ATTRACTION for you to check while in Casablanca! The Mosque is simply breathtaking and totally worth your visit. Do not limit yourself to the exterior. But the ticket and step in with a guided tour! Do not forget a scarf and appropriate cloth if you are a woman. Buying a traditional Moroccan cloth is always an option to make sure the photo will be the best possible (what I did and do not regret—the perfect souvenir from such a place)!

Yet another astoundingly beautiful mosque. Such amazing architecture, such intricate details. Only if the place was allowed to be open all day. The security kept chasing out visitors at 5pm on a Saturday. Love the walk by the corniche outside as well. A beautiful spot to spend some hours of your day or night when you visit Casablanca

Such a beautiful mosque that is so proudly Moroccan in its architecture. The attention to details and the materials brought in from all over Morocco is simply incredible. The amount of resources and time spent to build this mosque is a definite testament to Moroccan’s devotion. Definitely a highlight of Casablanca. Ticket cost 130 MAD for tourist, 140MAD if you would like to visit the museum too. You can buy the ticket over the counter, but do come earlier as the there are language-specific tour organised by guides within the mosque. Look out for the language tour you would like to join - there are signs marked inside the room! The tour is available at each hour (except during the 5 daily prayers time), starting on the dot. Pro-tip: I wasn’t aware of the guided tour and missed it, but waited for the next tour, this gives me time to take more pictures as the guide may only give you 5 minutes to take pictures inside. As the mosque is facing the Atlantic Ocean, it gets very windy and chilly so dress warmly!

Upon entering, a guide led us through the mosque. We were driven in a golf cart to the mosque and the guide walked us through and around and explained the architecture, the history, and taught us about the different features of the mosque. He was a great guide and helped us take photos as well. We lucked out that almost nobody was there when we went. We were able to get a lot of beautiful pictures around the mosque, admire the intricate detail that went into it's design, and enjoy the serenity of it's emptiness.

Wonderful. Right on the sea and really spacious inside and out. Ornate design throughout in so many places. Came on a day when the fog had rolled in so it looked really ethereal. Went in to pray and found loads of people milling about outside just soaking in the presence of the mosque. Still has covid restrictions so only open for short periods of time. But beautiful for the short time you’re allowed in.

Definitely worth a visit. Beautiful area outside near ocean to walk around before or after your tour. Some information that may be useful for others. The ticket office opens about 30 mins before the timed tours. I think it’s mandatory to have a guide, either a private one or the one from the mosque. I thought the guide from the mosque was great! The tour is about 40 - 45 minutes. Everyone waits around the ticket office for the tour to start. Then the whole group will walk over to the mosque. When you enter, you remove your shoes and put them in bags that are provided. The bags get returned after the tour. After you remove your shoes inside, there are signs for the different languages. You go to the sign with your preferred language and wait for your guide. Definitely worth seeing. It is a 10 minute walk from the train station Casa Porte.

The mosque is absolutely amazing and definitely worth the visit! We bought a tour online beforehand and this tour also included a hotel pick-up. The driver took us all the way to the entrance where we met our guide. The amount of people not respecting the dress code inside the mosque was devastating. One should always keep in mind the locals wishes when visiting holy places, such as churches and mosques etc.

It’s an impressive structure. It’s also sad to think about the amount of money that was spent on a building that is empty most of the time. Visitors are not allowed into the main area during prayer services. Check the schedule before you go. Dress appropriately. You may not be permitted to enter if you are wearing shorts or a tank top.

It is the largest mosque in Africa and has the tallest minaret in the world, which can accommodate 100,000 people praying at the same time. It is the only mosque in Morocco that can be visited by foreigners.Beautiful architecture, worth a visit. Tour guides are only in French, but English-speaking guides are occasionally available. If you want to see buildings on the sea, you have to look from the outside. There is a fence near the seaside and you can't get in.

While Sahara is a must see when in Morocco, Hassan II Mosque is a must see when in Casablanca. I wish Casablanca to be endowed with a large, fine building of which it can be proud until the very end of time. I want to build this mosque on the water, because God's throne is on the water. The faithful who go there to pray, to praise the creator on firm soil, can contemplate God's sky and ocean.

All of it is not forbidden, and God deprived us of a reward. As for the neighboring landscapes, beauty in beauty, welcome.

Best and first place to visit, it represents history and religion of Marrocon and Islam. Location is amazing on the beach. One of the biggest Mosques in the whole world. Prayer there is much better than meditation. Worth to make it first on the plan.

  • 5/5 Nicola C. 2 years ago on Google
Beautiful mosque but unfortunately we were unable to go inside even for prayer. It seems that there are restrictions on the number of people allowed to enter at prayer time. One security guard told us we could get a permit to enter after prayer from the large building next to the mosque… the building was closed. Another security guard told us that permits are temporarily suspended. A beautiful place to sit and listen though and the location by the sea is superb.

Mosque was breathtaking! I loved the beautiful edifice. It was a sight to behold. It cost 130 Dirhams to go inside and it makes for great pictures

Spacious graceful and wonderful mosque. The architect is based on concepts from the Holy Quran phrases discribing how God created the world and heaven. Every thing is made by Moroccans except the chandeliers. A must-visit preferrably with a tour guide.

Gone from Marrakesh on a one day return to this mosque at Casablanca. We visited the museum, which includes its original doors, arches, and many original items. One off the best building I have came across in my visits around Asia and Europe. Was first time but hoping not to be the last. I would love to pray the Jumma and spend some more again to see the full scale of the work been done to this mosque. Will recommend to every one to see once in life time.

I am so thankful for the staff for helping me with my visit. I wear braces on my legs that go into my shoes. Usually when I visit a mosque or temple and explain this, they still make me take off my shoes or chastise me for not having someone with me to push a wheelchair. Not here. They gave me a ride via golf cart and assisted me in covering my shoes inside the mosque. I could not have seen the inside without this help. For others- I think it’s possible to see the prayer hall step-free but I did not see or was offered a lift to the ablution rooms, but please try to see as much as you can! I have been to many places in this world, many churches and mosques and this one blew my mind! And the guide was great, I loved the close up look at the crafts inside the museum. Worth a trip just to see this in Casablanca

Obviously one of the must places to visit whilst in Casablanca. You must visit the place with a tour group and they don't let you wander around by yourself.

The walk along here is worth doing. It has some great views of the mosque from end to end. However the upkeep could be better, especially the bay itself, there is a lot of rubish floating in the water.

Beautiful, it's art that captivats your soul. ♥️ If you are someone like me, who loves art, architecture and culture, it's a must visit. I would have the entire day just soaking it. Tickets for the tour and museum for adults is 140 MAD, tours are only scheduled at 8am and 2pm do be mindful.

If you come to Morocco, then it's a must visit place. If you are staying in Hyatt regency hotel then it's about 2.5km distance by cab like petite taxi. Make sure that you carry a very good camera with you to capture lifetime memories. The sky in the background is blue and the tall structure really stands out so well. Since the structure is near sea, it is very windy some time and cold at night. Also you can see a lighthouse in sea. Very nice and clean place. One can start walking from Merina shopping mall to this mosque. It's serene and must visit place. Before your visit check the mosque timing in advance.

If you're going to skip this magnificent Mosque, might as well skip Casablanca altogether. Take at least an hour to visit and either read about it in advance or join a group with a guide to learn everything about it. Beautiful, extravagant, exotic. [You will also find a museum and a hammam right on the same property, which I didn't go for lack of time.] Keep in mind this is a religious temple, show respect by following their guidelines. Go to the right of the Mosque where the Mosque museum is to buy your tickets. Tourists are not allowed during religious events. THIS MOSQUE IS A MUST SEE.

We did not go inside the mosque because during the trip we visited quite a few mosques and saw the Islamic architecture and handicrafts. We did visit the grand entrance plaza. Definitely an impressive tower and a huge square that reaches all the way to the sea. A tour of 15-20 minutes maximum to get a feel for the place

  • 5/5 usman a. 4 months ago on Google
The mosque is indeed a magnificent masterpiece; however, I would like to address a concern with the authorities. Muslim visitors are halted at the entrance and compelled to purchase tickets, restricting entry except during prayer times. While I acknowledge the necessity during prayers, I propose allowing access to the mosque's outer area without tickets. Additionally, questioning the requirement for a ticket to pray in Allah's house deserves consideration.

I was there during weekday. When i first see the mosque I’m amazed to see the unique architecture of the mosque. Its open to public and any muslim can visit to perform prayer. This is the 3rd biggest mosque in Africa region. Looking foward to visit again in future.
