This is where you want to go to taste the true atmosphere of a Moroccan market when you are in Casablanca. Do not go to the old Medina! I did and it was dirty, did smell bad and the people invested litle effort in making their shop attractive. Not so in Habous! A bit strange but shops who offer the same thing are all located in the same few streets. So you have an area with copper things, another with books, another with leather, another with spices, clothes, furniture, hi-fi-stores....

Dazzling selection, helpful merchants, and very affordable prices. We purchased herbed green olives, cured black olives, harissa, spicy pickles, and preserved lemons. Heavenly day!

If you're an olive fiend, you'll love this place. So many different types of olives and they've also got chilli and other kinds of prepared olives. Bit tricky to find but you'll be rewarded when you do.

Nested in a small plaza inside the Habbous market, this is one of the places in Casablanca where you will find the greatest variety of olives for a ridiculously low price. You can also purchase fresh harissa, tapanades, pickled lemons and other local specialities.

Moroccans love their olives, and in Casablanca this is where locals go to buy their olives. Different options and multiple flavour options available. If like me you want to talk them back home to England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧, be sure to find a vendor who can pack your olives in a sealable container.

We arrived and left by petit taxi. Really liked this area, too bad we didn't (can't?) visit the Royal Palace and another public building in theory you can go. The area is super authentic and pretty, without much insisting on the business owners and not many tourists. We specially enjoyed the olive market, the meat market and restaurants and just to walk around the area.

Small square dedicated to selling olives and brined veggies. Most stalls seem to sell the same types of olives (green brined, purple brined, black salt cured and various spiced versions thereof. Prices are very cheap. If you like olives, worth a visit.

It’s such a good traditional market, where there is variant olives choices , it backs us to the old centuries, where Casablanca was an important food supplier in favour of all Moroccan cities.
