To be avoided as a practicing Muslim. This place is about worshipping the dead, saints, holy men and to ask other then God for help. If you know anything about Islam this is instint Kuffr/disbelief and is unforgivable of you die in this state. Seeing fortune tellers or psychics and those sorts is also forbidden in Islam. Admire the architecture from afar but as a Muslim do not enter this evil place. I saw it as I was approaching the Mall but aftee being told what place this was I kept well away. God protect us. Ameen

According to a legend Sidi Abderrahman (a hermit from Baghdad) settled down here in 18th century. He was poor and couldn’t read Quran. So he did his best in praising God the way he could – playing his lute. The hermit had abilities to cure diseases, to break curses and even to walk on water. After death he became recognized as a Saint. Nowadays the island looks like a small town around the tomb of Sidi Abderrahman. Some say that the bridge has destroyed the mystery of the place – before 2013 one could reach the island only on foot when the tide was low. Nevertheless the island remains a place of pilgrimage for many Moroccans. They believe that this sacred place still owns the healing power of Sidi Abderrahman. Really interesting place!

I don't know what the h*** I just walked through, but it sure was authentic. Like a little village out there with tiny basic accommodations, a little Mart and i think a place they were selling food with a little patio with chairs and umbrellas

Very mysterious and interesting. Learned a lot about ancient things and something I can only describe from the west as Santeria. This is certainly a mystical place with a strange draw. Don't go if you don't have a Moroccan friend or speak Darija so you can understand whats happening. Lots of rituals for good luck etc but nothing to be afraid of.

The known for: The sorcerers' island. The place needs cleaning! This is an old attraction in Casablanca hidden somehow but widely famous! In the old days, it used to be surrounded by water and one has to wait for the tide to calm down to cross. Now they've built a connecting bridge.

When far away, it seems to be a nice fishing village with a bridge, a nice terrace.... Not at all; it's one of the filthiest places I've never been to. Litter, garbage everywhere... It stinks. Not worth to visiting.

If you walk past it and see the kind of people walking into it and put 2 and 2 together you can very quickly realise its not a tourist destination. It's a residential slum for locals. Don't go here

wouldn't recommend walking through the breach. There are a lot of people who will ask you for money, which can be quite annoying and scary. At the end of the breach, there is a small village where you can find some vendors selling souvenirs. There is also a place that looks like a restaurant from a distance, but it's not. The smell there is disgusting. I suggest you just enjoying the view from a distance.

So worth just for the aesthetics but don’t have expectations, it is a simple, quaint but beautiful island — go for sunset!
