    This place is a great example of the racism within social services of Italy. Foreigners are treated terribly and not given the same services even if they pay for volunteer subscription to health insurance. For example, we don’t get the access to European Health Insurance Card, which is something incompatible with EU health law and even Italian regulations regarding healthcare. This is entirely interpretation based and Bologna has decided to give foreigners no healthcare right in EU. When you ask them, they say it’s not us who decide, and they actually fail in providing you with a legal basis for their decision of depriving you the full access to healthcare rights. I am a phd student here, the first problem with the system is that I have to pay 150 euros for healthcare that is obligatory to have for getting a residency permit. Even though I pay, they still don’t give me the EHIC which is necessary specially for PhDs. I studied in Milan for 3 years and they released an EHIC card for me even though I still wasn’t a resident. The second problem is that they have an inconsistency in their treatment: if you are lucky and you get one of the good people handling your case, they accept emailed documents or ask for a health card for you. If you are unlucky, you are treated totally differently and you might have to go back there a million times or walk out crying because of their racist behavior. There is never a consistent treatment with these people. I speak Italian fluently and I’m treated this way the moment they see my documents and understand I am from Iran. You can double all the problems if you don’t speak Italian as they don’t even speak one word of English. I don’t wanna play the victim here, but I have thought about it with some friends to actually sue them for their way of treating foreigners and for not providing any legal basis for their different treatment in healthcare allocation. The whole Italian healthcare systems is terribly racist, slow, and doctors are so incompetent here it’s incredible. I have lived 21 years in Iran and 5 years in Italy. Their system here is even worse than my 3rd world country of origin.

    I didn't know the CAU, as a first emergency assistance centre! It was recommended to me by 118 after an intervention at home. I went there with difficulty since I wasn't well. The welcome was, to say the least, harsh, unpleasant and inhumane. Yes, because of humanity on the part of a young doctor from the top of her gown, her words in a loud and authoritative voice were "I scare you on purpose because you shouldn't come here for this reason"! I HAD CHEST PAIN. They didn't let me explain why I went there... I was attacked with these words, they didn't understand my state of mind, an anxiety attack, a panic attack transformed into a nervous breakdown. I would like to point out that at around 8.30pm there was no one waiting. Dear Doctor, sometimes the first welcome is to listen, smile, give a hug if needed or simply be a little empathetic human, and the best medicine would not have taken up any patient's time since there were no emergencies. Just to inform her it didn't cost her anything. Just as it didn't cost her an apology. Instead, thanks go to the nurse who listened to me, understood me, reassured me, and advised me, thank you very much.

    Niente da dire sulla struttura e sull’organizzazione. Puntuali. Visita oculistica di controllo ai limiti del ridicolo, durata letteralmente 1 minuto e mezzo. Non ho fatto neanche in tempo a mettere a fuoco le lettere quando il dottore mi cambiava la lente nell’occhiale. Sconsiglio di fare la visita oculistica qui.

    A more than positive experience, as both the staff and the doctors are very kind and even if I was then referred to the Maggiore, because a specialized ENT specialist was needed, it still remains an excellent service even as an antechamber to another possible hospital: Highly recommended!! ! PS: If I had gone directly to the Maggiore I would have certainly waited over 4/5 hours, so instead I did everything in half an hour!

    Let me start by saying that I discovered this place thanks to a work colleague. The place looks like a nice structure, new and clean, however the staff needs to be much more empathetic. Those who go to the CAU are because they have a problem and are not well, they don't want to be treated like a doormat. Depending on the problem one has, the waiting times change: I have been twice for 2 different problems. The first was for a cut on my hand and I was happy with everything, waiting time was about 1 hour and 20 minutes, they treated me. The second time, pain and swelling in one leg and I was treated more superficially, waiting time 1 hour (there were only 3 of us). I hope the staff becomes a little more humane and not just people who are there just for the paycheck.

    At a time when there is often talk of cuts to healthcare and long waiting lists to access services, the Assistance and Urgency Center model is absolutely a winner. For an annoying rhinitis I turned to them and after taking the temperature and saturation they immediately referred me to the doctor who examined me after a few minutes. Speed, great efficiency, courtesy and also humanity. I recommend it to everyone.

    I happened to come other times. For clinic visits, and they were always competent and really good doctors! Above all, empathic, one of the most important qualities that those who do this profession must have. Today I had blood tests done for the first time in this facility, the nurse who did them showed zero empathy, was very cold and detached. When I told her I had anxiety and felt faint, she didn't pay any attention to me, other than making me lie down on the bed.     Sono in cura da alcuni giorni a causa di un abrasione all'occhio dx causata durante una visita oculistica di pachimetria per un malfunzionamento della sonda utilizzata a tale scopo. Risultato visita non effettuata per il non funzionamento della sonda ed un occhio dolorante che ho curato seguendo il consiglio di un bravo oculista nel modo più appropriato.
