BE
RESPECTED.
Second
visit
with
the
urologist,
this
time
with
a
certain
dr.
Calogero
Di
S
******.
I
felt
treated
unprofessionally,
with
the
doctor
who
surprisingly
switched
to
a
personal
bickering
plan
in
response
to
my
concerns
about
outpatient
dynamics
(see
below).
I
am
writing
here
to
avoid
wasting
time
in
the
usual
bureaucratic
cover-up
of
the
official
complaints
of
these
places.
The
most
disconcerting
and
embarrassing
thing
(especially
for
the
CMP,
but
starting
with
the
patient)
was
seeing
arrogant
nurses
come
and
go
at
will
who
wanted
a
document
or
a
signature
from
the
doctor,
regardless
of
the
fact
that
there
was
a
patient
in
a
vulnerable
condition
and
intimate
in
the
middle
of
her
visit
(i.e.
with
pants
down
and
in
need).
Having
witnessed
no
less
than
3
of
these
nurses
(even
2
at
a
time,
who
interrupted
the
visit
like
that)
I
had
to
protest,
but
the
doctor
has
done
nothing
but
turn
my
protest
against
me,
claiming
that
they
are
all
people
who
work
in
the
facility
(as
do
the
cleaning
staff,
I
replied).
Apparently
this
unworthy
and
absurd
practice
is
normal
for
the
CMP.
The
doctor
(who
was
convinced
by
me
to
fulfill
1
of
the
3
wishes
mentioned
above
-
prepare
and
print
a
document
for
one
of
the
nurses
-
and
then
lock
the
door
to
conclude
my
visit)
consequently
behaved
very
unprofessionally,
countering
my
complaints
with
vitriolic
words
like
"it's
mutual"
or
"I
don't
want
to
get
rid
of
you
but
..".
The
result
was
also
a
diagnosis
in
my
opinion
superficial
and
partly
in
contradiction
with
the
previous
one
(made
by
his
colleague
in
the
same
structure),
without
even
a
referral
for
the
next
visit,
following
the
examinations
indicated
to
me.
A
refresher
course
on
patient
empathy
and
dignity
is
recommended,
as
I
pointed
out
at
the
end
of
the
grotesque
visit.
Furthermore,
I
would
like
to
point
out
that
in
countries
such
as
England
the
patient
is
asked
if
he
has
no
problems
with
having
a
trainee
doctor
present
for
the
visit.
Here
at
the
CMP
it
is
the
second
time
that
I
have
an
intern
automatically
included
and
not
introduced
to
me
at
the
beginning.
This
too
is
a
lack
of
respect
towards
the
patient.
If
we
want
to
be
proud
of
an
effective
and
modern
healthcare
system,
we
must
begin
to
progress
in
this
respect,
moving
away
from
practices
in
which,
at
best,
one
feels
unfortunate
extras
in
a
film

FATTI
RISPETTARE.
Seconda
visita
con
l'urologo,
stavolta
con
un
certo
dr.
Calogero
Di
S******.
Mi
sono
sentito
trattare
in
modo
ben
poco
professionale,
col
medico
che
è
passato
sorprendentemente
a
un
piano
personale
di
bisticcio
rispondendo
alle
mie
perplessità
sulla
dinamica
in
ambulatorio
(vedasi
sotto).
Scrivo
qui
per
evitare
di
perdere
tempo
nel
solito
insabbiamento
burocratico
delle
lamentele
ufficiali
di
questi
posti.
La
cosa
più
sconcertante
e
imbarazzante
(soprattutto
per
il
CMP,
ma
a
partire
dal
paziente)
è
stata
vedere
entrare
ed
uscire
a
piacimento
infermiere
arroganti
che
volevano
un
documento
o
una
firma
dal
medico,
incuranti
del
fatto
che
ci
fosse
un
paziente
in
condizioni
vulnerabili
ed
intime
nel
mezzo
della
sua
visita
(vale
a
dire
con
pantaloni
abbassati
e
in
stato
di
necessità).
Avendo
assistito
a
non
meno
di
3
di
queste
infermiere
(anche
2
alla
volta,
che
hanno
interrotto
la
visita
in
quel
modo)
ho
dovuto
protestare,
ma
il
medico
non
ha
fatto
altro
che
ritorcere
la
mia
protesta
contro
di
me,
adducendo
che
sono
tutte
persone
che
lavorano
nella
struttura
(come
del
resto
il
personale
delle
pulizie,
ho
risposto).
A
quanto
pare
questa
prassi
indegna
ed
assurda
è
normale
al
CMP.
Il
medico
(vistosi
convinto
da
me
ad
esaudire
1
dei
3
desideri
di
cui
sopra
-
preparare
e
stampare
un
documento
per
una
delle
infermiere
-
e
poi
chiudere
a
chiave
la
porta
per
concludere
la
mia
visita)
si
è
conseguentemente
comportato
in
modo
ben
poco
professionale,
controbattendo
alle
mie
lamentele
con
parole
al
vetriolo
come
"è
reciproco"
o
"non
voglio
liberarmi
di
Lei
ma..".
Il
risultato
è
stato
anche
una
diagnosi
a
mio
avviso
superficiale
e
in
parte
in
contraddizione
con
la
precedente
(fatta
da
suo
collega
nella
stessa
struttura),
senza
nemmeno
un'impegnativa
per
prossima
visita,
successiva
agli
esami
indicatimi.
Si
raccomanda,
come
del
resto
ho
fatto
presente
alla
fine
della
grottesca
visita,
un
corso
d'aggiornamento
riguardo
empatia
e
dignità
del
paziente.
Inoltre,
faccio
presente
che
in
paesi
come
l'
Inghilterra
si
chiede
al
paziente
se
non
ha
problemi
ad
avere
un
medico
tirocinante
presente
alla
visita.
Qui
al
CMP
è
la
seconda
volta
che
ho
un
tirocinante
automaticamente
incluso
e
non
presentatomi
all'inizio.
Anche
questo
è
una
mancanza
di
rispetto
nei
confronti
del
paziente.
Se
si
vuole
essere
orgogliosi
di
un
sistema
sanitario
efficace
e
moderno,
si
deve
cominciare
a
progredire
sotto
quest'aspetto,
scostandosi
da
prassi
in
cui,
nel
migliore
dei
casi,
ci
si
sente
comparse
malcapitate
in
un
film
di
Alberto
Sordi.
