This hotel is very upscale to what I have stayed in outside of Lisbon. Excellent views overlooking the city of Castelo Branco. The evening meal I had at the restaurant was the best Portuguese food I have enjoyed so far. Staff are very professional and very helpful. I did return to this spot.

Beim Hotel gibt es gratis Parkplätze. Der Empfang war sehr nett und die Zimmer mit Stadtblick kann ich empfehlen. Super Ausblick am Balkon und man kann hier einen wunderschönen Sonnenuntergang bewundern. Frühstücksbuffet Mittelklasse, aber nichts Besonderes. Den Stadtkern kann man in 20 Minuten sehr gut zu Fuß erreichen. Swimmingpool haben wir nicht getestet, da Badekappenpflicht besteht. Um 4,50€ kann man aber an der Rezeption eine Badekappe kaufen.

Hotel is located behind the castle, so going into the city it's a 20 min ( hilly)walk. Hotel needs renovation ( all is not anymore up-to-date, laminate flooring is broke) and in my opinion the staff needs some lessons in hospitality.

THE BEST WEEK WE HAVE EVER HAD IN ANY HOTEL EVER. Spotlessly clean. Every member of staff from check in, bar, restaurant, chef/ kitchen, cleaners, gym/swimming pool and anybody we haven't mentioned deserve top marks in every category. We have never been so well looked after or cared for. Room was top notch (premium city view) robes, slippers, luxury toiletries, massive towels, shower cap, shower always hot no matter what time of day or night. Cleaners absolutely respect your privacy if you have your do not disturb on door till 12pm - get back at 4pm and your room has been cleaned. We've read some quite bad reviews on trip advisor and ABSOLUTELY think some people need to spend £180 on a nights stay in Manchester or Liverpool- get a grip people. Melia Castelo Branco is the best place EVER.

When visiting Castelo Branco we always base ourselves here. The friendly staff make you feel welcome from the start. With great facilities, lovely food and easy access links to the city and beyond you can't better Melia.

Overall great! Not Allowed to serve tap water which is not great. Free water should always be provided in a place like this. Gym and spa is nice and quiet with saunaand jacuzzi. Nice helpful staff. Nice rooms.

What started off with a few hiccups(room change) ended with a rather enjoyable stay...I do feel that the property is in need of a makeover...for the better to bring her back up to par with a 4 star rating...the pool was nice but lacked a surrounding of tranquility...My favorite area was the bar...with a special shout out to the bartender who made great drinks but was also outgoing and positive...Resident Cowboy and supporter of the economy of Portugal since 2016...

Very nice hotel, perfectly situated on the top of a hill with great views over the surrounding area. Great rooms, WiFi in the room was weak. Good breakfast. Buffet for dinner was quite good as well. Friendly personell.
