Kitchen: roaches, dirty floors, cabinets falling apart, dirty, barely any utensils, all old, dirty, sticky, disgusting. Bathrooms: full of mold, faucets/ shower heads all falling apart. Surfaces worn out, shower, bath tub old, stained, black with mold, old dirt, who knows what.....Toilets smell of sewage. No place for towels. Bedrooms dark, window curtains hanging on crooked rods. This place looks outdated, not maintained, should be taken off any listing until upgraded. No amount of mopping of the floors or wiping bathroom surfaces will fix this disaster. No need for fancy kitchen or bathrooms, it is a hostel after all, but clean, neat looking kitchen/bathroom should be mandatory. In the listings, kitchen and bathrooms are not pictured, now I know why.

I really recommend to stay away from this hostel. It is simply disgusting. The place is a dirty hole and honestly a scam. I stayed in the private bedroom which was dirty and so disgusting. When I entered the bathroom for the first time I almost threw up. It is beyond disgusting. I am surprised that I did not see any cockroaches! You really don't want to touch anything in that place. Pure luck I guess. The personell is also just not capable of managing the place. They hardly speek english and are just unfriendly. How is it possible that this hostel even has a licence?? Do not trust the 5 star recommendations, I suspect that the hostel owner/employees write them themselves! Really, STAY AWAY!

My brother got sick and began throwing up in the bathroom, in which there was no toilet paper. The beds had mold on and around them. The bathrooms were slimy and had not been serviced in weeks. Bed bugs!!! Both me and my brother got bitten. Owners dog was aggressive and tried to bite me. At least it was close to the beach! Not really a hostel though, mainly long term guests.

Für diesen Preis kann man echt nix sagen. Man bekommt ein sauberes Bett, eine warme Dusche und ein halbwegs sauberes Klo. Etwas nervig ist der Hund der dauern bellt. Wer richtig sparen möchte oder echt nur ein Bett sucht macht hier nicht viel falsch. Handtuch und Spind bekommt man gegen je 5€ Einsatz. Leider kann nicht jeder des Personals englisch

It was excellent! Super good vibe with barbecues and common areas! Moreover, we had a little problem with our cards and the staff has been super nice and understanding! We recommend :)

If you want to surf at the carcavelos beach this hostel is a good and cheap choice. The staff is kind. you can rent surfboards and do Yoga. Unfortunately the bathrooms and the kitchen area have seen better days...

Great, affordable hostel by the ocean in Carcavelos. Check-in is safe and professionally handled regarding the pandemic. Common areas are large enough to mingle but still feels like a place you can call home. Rooms are simply and beautifully decorated. My favorite part is the individuals you are able to connect with. I stayed here in 2017 and a couple times this year. The hostel grounds and interior been updated with nice renovations. I will be back in the winter!

The hostel is a bit run down and has seen better days. The pool is very well taken care of but the kitchen has very few unbroken pots, only a couple of cups and the oven doesn't work anymore. Beds are clean but there is no room to put your stuff besides a tiny locker. The bathrooms are not mouldy but have seen better times. Overall, the hostel offers what you need: a clean bed and a place to cook your spagetti but there are for sure more up-to-date places around.

We should have taken the name more serious 🤣 when we booked a delux queen room we expected something without cockroaches. Also we expected to have a clean room and not have loud noise until 2 am. Next to that, during Corona we expect at least the employees to wear a mask. Go here if you are young and want to party and don't care! Probably really fun. Anyway the guy helping us was nice.

Bett war irgendwie ekelig. Die Bettwäsche ist sehr dünn und da hängen immer Haare drauf. Die Zeit wo ich dort war, waren zu 95% nur Männer dort und ich hab mich sehr unwohl gefühlt.

This place has so much potential, they should change out the beds and pillows and some more things that would need fixing and cleaning. I did go through reviews before coming and it yeah... I knew what I was going into. I only stayed one night, love the dog

Beautiful hostel with plenty of spaces in the room and around the building to work or hangout with fellow visitors. The hostel is situated in a high-end neighbourhood, so it is a quite and clean area. The highlight is that the beach is located just 7mins walk from the hostel where you can go and surf, swim or simply walk around. If you like surfing, quite area, and laid-back life style, this is the place to check-out.

Beds had a comfortable mattress. Bathrooms big and comfortable. Stuff was friendly and really helpful. Luggage storage was possible. I really like the place and will return here :)

I didn't bother staying for even one night. My bed wasn't ready in time for check-in. When I showed up earlier I asked if I could leave my belongings in their storage room. They don't have one. The guy working there just told me to leave my things beside the main entrance. He wouldn't even put them behind the front desk. The bathroom and rooms were disgusting. No toilet paper. The hot water didn't seem to work very good. They don't accept credit card. "Your bed was not ready yet because you arrived 3 hours before the allowed check-in time." Do you seriously think that I didn't understand that?! I CAME EARLY BECAUSE I WANTED TO DROP MY STUFF OFF! You told me that check in was at 14:00. I came back, not ready. I waited for about half an hour longer and looked at the rooms upstairs. Everything appeared to be dirty or in disrepair and no sign of anyone cleaning or getting anything ready. And also, every hostel I've stayed in has a storage place for luggage. I don't want to leave my things beside the door where someone can just walk away with them. I couldn't do anything that I wanted to do for a big chunk of my day because I had to lug around my things with me.
