summary
of
an
unpleasant
and
inexplicable
encounter
I
had
yesterday
with
the
staff
at
the
entrance/reception
around
15h.
We
wanted
to
go
to
the
terrace
upstairs
for
a
nice
bottle
of
wine
as
we
just
arrived
in
Cascais
and
will
stay
for
another
week.
From
outside
we
could
see
that
the
terrace
was
practically
empty
with
only
one
table
occupied.
When
entering
downstairs
we
asked
the
two
people
at
the
“reception”
(one
older
blonde
lady
and
one
younger
guy)
if
we
could
go
upstairs
to
the
terrace
for
drinks.
To
our
surprise
the
woman
simply
said
it’s
not
possible
(???!)
as
according
to
her
no
seats
were
available.
Immediately
i
responded
by
saying
that
it
was
practically
empty.
Then
she
changed
her
storyline
and
said
that
the
waitress
could
not
accomodate
anyone
for
lunch
as
she
was
too
busy(?!).
We
clarified
that
we
were
not
there
for
lunch
but
for
drinking
wine
and
reiterated
that
the
terrace
was
practically
empty.
Long
story
short,
because
of
the
ignorance,
incompetence
and
arrogance
of
those
people
you
put
at
the
entrance,
we
left
and
spent
our
money
somewhere
else.
Not
only
has
this
establishment
lost
income
on
that
particular
afternoon,
but
I
will
definitely
also
not
return
there
for
the
rest
of
my
stay
in
Cascais.
It’s
quite
sad
that
a
nice
place
is
ruined
by
the
incompetence
of
its
staff.
You
should
really
evaluate
the
staff
you
hire
as
the
ones
you
have
now
damage
your
reputation.
