Job no pay. I stayed at the Nice Way Hostel as a volunteer and the way we were treated was unacceptable. When a lot of volunteers and guests are at the hostel, there is a party every night, and you don't mind all the bad parts as much. Also, most volunteers stay for 4-6 weeks, so they don't feel like it is worth it to confront the employers and I think the employers know that the volunteers are very much replaceable. Well, the rooms the volunteers stay in are moldy and have bedbugs. Even after several volunteers confronted them about not feeling safe staying in such a room, they put us in there anyway, even though they had a perfectly fine, empty room. The hostel attracts a bunch of really weird and quite frankly creepy people. Those people treat the volunteers unkind and harassed several volunteers. We as volunteers are not only expected to smile away such an uncomfortable situation but are also being told off when we do not do so. Basically, the main staff can behave however they want and treat the volunteers as it pleases them. A fellow volunteer spent more than 100€ on pharmaceutical products because of all the mosquito bites she had (the volunteers' room also had a broken window for months) and my luggage was full of mold after having been in the room for a few weeks, the hostel never apologized for that or paid for the damage cost. I truly appreciate that they gave me chance to volunteer at the hostel (since the first weeks I stayed there I had a nice time) but hope the Nice Way hostel will treat the volunteers more kind in the future.

Frist time staying at a hostel, and what an experience! The staff was the sweetest people one can meet, and the other guest so nice and friendly. I would choose Nice Way any time over any 5-star hotel! The only bummer was that the chicken delivery was a week late, so it wasn’t possible to get chicken toast, so ended up getting it on my leg instead…. 😊

Loved everything about this place. Though, don’t go during a heat wave since their bunk fans are quite tiny. Overall great spot though! And book a massage from Marcella!!

I think the place is lovely and there’s really good environment. However, the suite is completely overpriced for what it offers. First of all, it is way smaller than shown in the picture. Second of all, we paid €360 for 2 nights and there was no breakfast included which I think is utterly ridiculous, specially since there’s not even a buffet. Next, the room was not cleaned for us the next day. The water in the shower will cool down frequently and the shower head was horrible not nice to shower in. Finally, the place is loud. Music till late and you can hear when people go out and enter and when they talk all the time which makes it difficult to rest.

Good location within walking distance of the centre of Cascais. Really friendly staff! We stayed in a private room, which was nice and clean, but you can hear everything in the hallway (such as random people having way too loud long conversations which kept us awake at 3am). Other thing we really didn’t like was the fact that quiet hours (between 23h-8h) were totally not respected with loud music until long after midnight.

Location is perfect, the place itself is very beautiful,cosy and in general has an amazing vibe. Everyone are super friendly and welcoming. People working and volunteering in Nice Way Cascais are making it very special and unique. I’ve stayed in this hostel for six days and I loved it! Atmosphere is amazing, staff is so nice and bathrooms are being cleaned everyday. The food is also very good (breakfast & toasts). Wifi is actually pretty good and covers the whole hostel. Enough spaces to work from, so working from here shouldn’t be a problem. If you’re a solo traveler and you would like to meet some people: definitely go here! I met so many nice people.

Loved absolutely everything from this place. The rooms were nice, the pool is great and the staff and the vibe is just something that makes the staying just unforgettable.

Such a fun hostel! I really enjoyed the relaxed vibe and met many new people! Perfect for solo travelers because it is easy to meet new people! I also took surfing and joga classes which I recommend 100%, you must take surfing classes to meet such fun instructiors and many other travelers who came there to have fun and experience surfing in the Atlantic ocean. It was a life experience! I would just recommend to the hostel to fix loud doors but other then that I had a great stay. It is a peaceful hostel , at least in April/May, but you can have lots of fun as well.You have kitchen, table, food, pool, living room, garden ... maybe there should be more place for freelancers to work but maybe it is not that kind of hostel, although you also have place to do that. I really enjoyed my stay, thank you for the experience!

Great location, fantastic, friendly staff. The place has a wonderful vibe. The whole area(shared kitchen, toilets and showers) are cleaned daily. The place is spotless

Filipe, Janice and Mariana were amazing bartenders and hosts. They really helped me have a good time and feel at home. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a fun and positive vibe.

Best hostel I’ve stayed in! There are so many cool and cozy spots to hang out and the staff are super helpful. Stayed in a 6 bed dorm and it was comfortable and quiet at night. Lots of activities and dinners and a great big kitchen to cook up some snacks. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here. I also loved the cat!!

I stayed at this hostel for about 10 days. It’s probably the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. There’s a super chill atmosphere, and easy to socialize. The volunteers and staff become like friends after a while. The 12-man dorm can get a bit hot, so I’d recommend the 4-man doorm. I even forgot some clothes while there, and the staff were super helpful with mailing them to me afterwards. 10/10

Nice hostel but I think they shouldn't play music so loudly and till so late. We couldn't sleep each night because techno was playing really loud till 12:30/1am.

Great Hostel, close to the City and the beaches and they offer a ride to the closest surf spots. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They are working hard so that you can have a great time in cascais. If you want to meet new and interesting people and have a good time at the BBQ in the garden next to the Pool, this is the place where you want to go. Would always come back. Much love!

Great hostel with a fantastic (bit of a party) vibe. Good dorm rooms, some of them with nice terraces and clean bathrooms. Great communal area’s to meet people.

I had such a great time during a few days at this place. Very relaxing and chill when you need to, but with a great atmosphere by night too. Perfect combo! The pool is nice, the rooms are good, and the staff is lovely, always helping with good recommendations.

I was at the gate, because of the terrible loud music, day after day after day. The owners and/or visitors do not care one dime about the nuisance they cause to the neighbors.
