This was a very disappointing visit to Yakuza. Let’s start with the good. The food is good and what is expected at this price range. Now the disappointing. We needed to wait 10 minutes on our reservation to be seated. Then we were seated at a table which was out of the way, with chairs that were chipped and didn’t match any of the other chairs in the restaurant. Very sad for a restaurant like Yakuza (picture). Then the waiter was spending a lot of time chatting with the table next to us to the point that he abandoned us. It is very disappointing that if you need something the waiter is there but he is chatting with a table 1.5m from you and refuses to come over. Other serving staff did their best to cover for him but again, disappointing for a restaurant like Yakuza. The last thing that was somewhat disappointing was that the Chef’s sushi selection on the business lunch has no flair, nothing special, only salmon, tuna, white fish and one piece with a shrimp. Nothing to showcase Yakuza. We ordered some nigiri and a taco to add something extra for ourselves and those were exceptional.

So starting with the good. The food was very good especially the “New Hamachi” (which was a tuna carpaccio with an incredible sauce) and the “hot yakuza roll”. This is expected however at this price point. The drinks were pretty good, I’ve had much better in Lisbon however. The negative part here starts with the fact that the restaurant has a very soulless feel. The biggest problem for me though (also an absolute deal breaker for me) is that the hostess told us that our time at the table was over and that we need to move to the bar while we were waiting for a sashimi platter. We had been there for roughly 2 hours and were trying our way through the menu and no where in the reservation process, confirmation emails or even upon arrival were we made aware of the fact that we could only have the table for 2 hours. They even let us order a sashimi platter only for the hostess to ask us to leave the table about 10 minutes after ordering! I have never experienced this level of unprofessionalism (she was very rude about it as well) at a restaurant of this price point (our bill was 400€ for 3 people). After arguing with them for a few minutes they let us stay at the table at least until we finished eating, but this totally ruined the mood and the vibe - for 400€ I expect the full package of great food, great service, great vibe etc. To top it off the coffee was a bad nespresso for 5€ (see photo) which is a bit embarrassing for a restaurant like this if you ask me. In a city like Lisbon with so many incredible restaurants, definitely skip Yakuza because you’ll miss out on a great restaurant that’s actually worth your time and money!

Really beautiful restaurant, felt very fancy. Decor was really nice, service was great. Was nice watching the chefs prepare the food in front of you. Majority of the sushi rolls were fab, especially the yakuza hot roll. There were one of two dishes that weren’t mind blowing which is why this review gets 4 stars.

What an amazing experience. Fantastic resturant. Best sushi I have ever had. This place sure knows how to put on a show. I can understand why so many celebrities dine here.

Excellent Asian fusion Restaurant Near Av. Liberdade in Lisbon. We happened to sit right next to the owner, Olivier, who was very gracious, and dog friendly! The food was delicious and I will be back, or I’ll try another one of his restaurants.

Mein Besuch im Yakuza bei Olivier in Lissabon war ein absolutes Highlight und verdient ohne Frage volle 5 Sterne. Zunächst einmal, das Restaurant ist eine kleine versteckte Perle in der Stadt - der Eingang ist nicht sofort ersichtlich, was den Besuch zu einem kleinen Abenteuer macht. Aber keine Sorge, einfach an der Glocke klingeln und schon wird man in eine andere Welt eingeführt. Der Empfang war herzlich; wir wurden sofort zu unserem Platz geleitet und mit Wasser oder einem Aperitif begrüsst. Zugegeben, die Menükarte kann auf den ersten Blick etwas verwirrend sein, aber das Personal steht einem mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Der Service im Yakuza bei Olivier war durchweg erstklassig und überaus freundlich, was den Abend besonders angenehm machte. Jetzt zum wichtigsten Teil: das Essen. Die Qualität der Speisen, insbesondere der Takos, Negiris und Makis, war einfach herausragend. Die Aromen waren authentisch und jeder Bissen ein Genuss. Die Preise sind zwar etwas höher, aber angesichts der Qualität der Speisen und des Erlebnisses absolut gerechtfertigt. Die Einrichtung des Restaurants ist stilvoll und authentisch, was die Atmosphäre noch angenehmer macht. Ein Besuch im Yakuza bei Olivier ist nicht nur ein Essen, sondern ein echtes Erlebnis. Ich kann nur empfehlen, vorher einen Tisch zu reservieren, um sicherzugehen, dass man diesen wundervollen Ort erleben kann.

If you LOVE sushi, then this is the place you must try. My husband is crazy for great sushi. He was in heaven! THE best in Portugal! I don't eat sushi, and they have cooked dishes that I like. My food was outstanding. The service was 2nd to none. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated. Be forewarned, it is very expensive. But as it was my husband's birthday dinner we decided to celebrate there. I highly recommend!!!

Its a trendy place, over the top blends and things are cooked very well. Service is really well done. Fresh, clean, and It's just not for me. Probably would have still been a 5 star if the waiter didn't recommend that we tip as he gave us the bill.

Delicious experience. The ambience was lovely- the music was great & seating outdoors under a tree while dining is an experience. All the waiters were attentive. The food was amazing. By far- the best california I’ve ever had! The yellowtail was filled w/so much flavor & the truffle lobster roll was something out of this world. The yellow was lite but packed a punch of flavor. No matter what you order- you can’t go wrong.

This is one of the best Sushi experiences I have ever been able to have. The ambiance of the restaurant is astounding and every single bite of food was delicious. The only reason I am not giving it five stars is because our waitress messed up our order and even forgot some of the things we ordered. Otherwise, amazing!

We were fortunate enough to secure reservations at the culinary haven of Chef Olivier da Costa, Yakuza by Olivier, nestled in the heart of Lisboa. This contemporary Japanese speakeasy establishment entices not only the palate with mouth-watering dishes but also captivates with its inventive libations masterfully crafted by the talented mixologist Bruno. It's no secret that Cristiano Ronaldo is an ardent fan of this revered Lisboa gem, and I can see why.

The food was delicious and the dishes very well thought out. The service was also great; our waiter was attentive and very helpful and recommended some great choices of food and drinks. Really beautiful decor too and I really liked the open kitchen.

We had an unbelievably good experience here! The music and vibes are amazing, the entrance feels like you’re entering a secret club. Pro tip: go for the Yakuza Specials and Sashimi combo dishes and prepare both your wallet and your palette. The cocktails were also delicious, and the wait staff were incredibly kind and attentive. Can’t recommend it enough.

Food was excellent. Super fresh, tasty, some of the best sushi I have ever had along with the fish tacos! Have never had a fish taco this delicious. All the rolls are uniquely handcrafted. We didn’t get the combos but they came with dry ice. Presentation was exquisite. We were well taken care of.

Location is a bit with a twist, it is just next to the hotel , with faint light at the door . Interior is great 10/10 Staff is amazing 10/10 Food was super 10/10 Drinks were just perfect 10/10 Do I recommend this place? 100% Would I come back? If I come back to Lisbon, for sure yes .

Superb food served in a moody, retro, mid-century Japanese/New York interior. Every mouthful was amazing, served with a friendly smile. The tempura prawns were the best I've ever tasted. This is serious stuff rivalling the best in Tokyo, New York or São Paulo.

The venue is very interesting so a lot of points for that. Very nice setting for a meal. The staff delivered an incredible service (considering the amount of people that only go here to make stories for Instagram, the staff can cope with a lot more than what should be asked from them :) ). We tried to have a bit of everything and, although I agree it is not a cheap place it is definitely worth if you are the type of person that likes gastronomic experiences. this is exactly that. a great combination of flavours and textures using top quality ingredients.

Hmm - Most of the food was great (but over-priced); Really, really slow service; Drinks a bit of a mixed bag; Great ambience. For example, the Tacos are super delicious but 17€ EACH. Wouldn't have minded so much if the wait for 6 pieces of sushi hadn't been sooo slow (> 1 hour). Wouldn't recommend at this price point based on tonight.

This is an excellent place to find superb sushi. We ordered several dishes and ended up ordering several more just to keep trying this excellent restaurants food!

Best sushi experience in Lisbon. Quite expensive even for outside of the Portugal standard, but you get nice fresh fish with good service and beautiful interior, so I think it worse to try once at least ❤️for me best experience you get if you have place at shared table, you can enjoy great view how sushi been prepared.

Great food, they definitely know what they are doing and have prime ingredients... good service, make good recommendations for drinks, good Ambiance, trendy designs, nice paintings, cool music, cosy kind of dark and romantic vibe... Definitely a must visit. We paid 200 euros without alcohol and tried so many delicious things...
