👍👍 Excellent seafood restaurant with over-the-top customer service and an absolutely unbeatable beach location. The “linguado” (sole filet) was delicious as was the home baked bread. People often mention service, view, restaurant, delicious, good, great, seafood, fish, nice, perfect,

I live in the area, and can say that this is probably one of the better beach restaurants on N247, but that is not saying a lot. very expensive, nice atmosphere OK service,, decent food for the region. Alcohol very expensive 8 Euros a beer. Food is no better than in center of cascais but you are paying for the view. I would agree with others that this not fine dining. It is decent seafood with a nice view.

An incredible experience! What a unique setting. We went for lunch and stayed all afternoon sipping Aperol spritz on the deck in front of the waves. Very nice restaurant, fantastic service. The meal was good, and we very much enjoyed it, but not quite up to the standards of everything else in our opinion. Prices in line with fresh sea food restaurants. Definitely worth a visit if in the area.

The view is fantastic. The service is very good. But the price are really to expansive. It s almost non sens. How can you charge 37.5 euro for a plate of house cataplana. That was good but the content of seefood didn’t reach the price . I won’t go back. Also de tomate rice was really weak. Steak was ok.

My mom and I went to this establishment on July 23rd this year, as she was paying me a visit. I had heard many positive things about this place and thought this might be the perfect place to round up her stay here. And mind you, the food and the waiters that attended us, an elderly gentleman and young man in his 20's, were most respectful and smiley taking care our stay was as good as possible. Unfortunately, the way our visit started meant our stay could simply not be perfect. As we entered the restaurant, a receptionist welcomed us with a rather surprised face to see people entering the place not wearing a tuxedo and a evening gown. Note we were all but wearing a training suite or a borat bathing suite. When we enquired about whether a table was available, the receptionist stated they had to go check the reservations list in order to give us a response, which is, of course, totally fine. However, they just went halfway, spoke to another guest, a man in his 70's, obviously looking for a table to sit down, too. After a brief chat they turned right back to us, told us all tables were booked out, but one. Leading us out to the terrace (marvellous view no doubt) and to the table in the farthest corner. The downside about the table outside was the wind that virtually swept the salt off the fish and cooled our food down in minutes. The fact that the receptionist did not go all the way to check if all tables were booked that night is dissatisfying at a certain point, though as a human being myself I know we sometimes don't want to go all the way - nobody's perfect. However, the fact that while we were having dinner the receptionist welcomed several guests and offered any table they preferred was what actually made me feel like some second class guest, which, as someone who's worked in customer care for years, is the ONE thing people working in the people business need to look after at all times. I was not going to make any fuss out of this, however told the receptionist they might want to work on either their lying skills or walking skills. Seriously though, had the 10 additional meters been walked, we would not have felt like some dogs placed outside. Hence the three stars as everything following this bumpy start to our visit was exquisitely good. Please, if you take times to read these recessions, communicate them to employees as little things like these determine the verdict on a stay in your establishment. Thank you, though we will certainly not be coming back.

All the waiters speaks perfect English like most places here in Portugal. They are also very accommodating and pleasant. I had oysters, and the fried squid . My oysters was delicious and extremely fresh as if it had just come out of the water.

Nice location of the restaurant ( that’s why I give 2 stars). Very expensive for what we got. The starters (bread and olives) we were 10 it costs 35 euro total. The kids took filetes de pescada, it costs 25 euro per portion which is ok, however they changed us 12 euro additional to get one extra piece of filete in order to make 2 per kid. Too much, if I knew I would have ordered another entire portion. I got the espetada de lulas e gambas, what a disappointment very small portion and not tasty at all and all the French fries we got were cooked too much in advance (not crispy and the taste was awful). The polvo a Lagareiro was very small portion. For having dinner and almost all the restaurants in Guincho this is definitely one of the worst. Lesson learned, never again. Now I understand why I could book the restaurant in the afternoon for the same evening without any problem.

Superb view of ocean particularly at sunset, accompanied by an friendly and effective service. The food is excellent. Highly recommend sole fish with banana. The fish soup was also a nice starter. Great place if visiting the area and lucky to book a table.

Wonderful food, fantastic location however our request for a table with a view didn’t work out and we were tucked away at the back, which is a real shame as the views are to die for..

We had an amazing experience at this place. We ordered shrimp for starters and shared a 2 kilo Robalo (Snook) cooked on salt which was absolutely the best. Our waiter was Nuno Filipi who was the best, super friendly and took great care of us. Lastly the view was incredible, we sat outside and saw the waves hitting the rocks. Truly amazing experience. Definitely recommend!

Fresh and delicious seafood, great service, beautiful view. What else could one ask for? This restaurant has become a staple for us. We ordered shrimp, oysters and an octopus salad. Everything was delicious. The oysters were humongous and very tasty. So were the other dishes. Definitely will be back.

After touring parts of Portugal all morning, we stopped in Monte Mar for a late lunch. We had no idea we walked into a little piece of paradise. The back deck was just amazing. Any closer to the ocean and you would need scuba gear. In fact, we watched scuba divers right off the deck. The food was delicious, staff was all smiles and it made our perfect day even more perfect. Don't hesitate, just go.

The best part of this restaurant was definitely the views. Perhaps it was because of the low season, but neither service nor food were up to the great reviews we had seen. Admit, it was very slow and only a few customers dining, so frustration may had spread across the staff.

A beautifully set restaurant with a view over the ocean. A great place for dinning while watching a sunset. The seats are both outside on a terrace & inside. The prices are high but the selectio of seafood good (lobsters, crabd, King prawne, all kind of fish). The service was friendly and polite although I got lost who was our waiter in the end. We had to wait quite a while for a food which was not a big problem because of a great view & a company.

This is my favourite seafood restaurant.the service they provide is impeccable. Always serving you with a lot of love and smile on their face. Food is super delicious and the view just adds on to their amazing service and venue . I highly recommend this place.

Delicious food, very friendly staff and a stunning location are three words to describe Monte Mar in Cascais. Those are the ingredients for a great restaurant! Being gluten free and vegan, it is not always easy to find a nice restaurant but Monte Mar has it all. Recommend!

The food was delicious, the waiters were amazing and location is amazing. The only tiny critic I have is to maybe move the car blocking the amazing view of the Atlantic.

we had absolutely beautiful meals, everything was perfect 👌 Cascais has some great places for meal, his is aiming for the best portuguese style fish restaurant ! perfectly fresh fish selection ( even a Flatfish, not so easy to get in apt) , big lobsters aquarium, top fresh veggies, beautiful vine selection . Passionate staff able to recommend , help or just a chat (sometimes also confuses the order, but anything they bring just tastes great) . beautiful view, nice clean design of the place , spacious, busy with tables.. best to go and taste

The fish was superb, service 1st class and great wine. A great experience made even more special by Andrew the waiter. We had spent many evenings at Monte Mar about 18 months ago during Covid. Pleased to report that the standards are as high as ever!

Really nice food, wine and ambience. We didn't reserve apparently only reserved people were allowed on a Friday night. We reserved for 30 mins later and was able to go back in, other than this service and food both were really good.

The best restsurant in Lisbon Metro. Our dinner meal was perfect and tasted so delicious. The customer service was outstanding. Will go there again when we are in the area. Totally recommend the Monte Mar

The food is generally OK, but far too expensive for what is on offer. This is not a fine dining establishment, so the high prices can't be justified. Some of the dishes are outright poor such as the fried baby squid which is limp and soft instead of crispy. It is more batter than squid. I ordered the house speciality which is the groupa. It was good. The grilled cuttlefish ordered by my wife was OK. The service is friendly but not efficient. There did not seem to be one waiter responsible for our table. It took 10 minutes to get the wine list and 10 minutes to receive the bill. The wine list is reasonable, although the "recommended" wine suggested on the menu was out of stock and we had to replace it with the more expensive version. The dessert menu is very limited and uninspiring. A scoop of ice cream at €4.80 is nothing short of a rip off. We would not go back. There are a lot more good restaurants close by with views as good, better food at more reasonable prices.

Exquisite food in a beautiful setting. This was one of our favorite dining experiences during our Portugal fish. Some of the best and freshest seafood in an chic setting with attentive and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

😐 So, firstly, the food here was very good! The starters were very tasty and huge portions (so beware unless you're really hungry), and the pizzas we had were delicious. And if you have a table by the window facing the sea, the view is lovely. However... overall experience was soured by poor service....

👍👍 Perfection. Spider crab was very well cooked, and was cut and set to eat with least effort. Steamed octopus was so tender and seafood rice had rich taste. And all the foods went so well with green wine. Wish I could visit again.
