Very enjoyable 4-night stay we did in April of 2023. Location is perfect to disconnect yet be close enough by bus to see Cascais and Sintra or head north. Hotel and Restaurant staff were of exceptional care to us while staying there, would like to say a very sincere thank you to all who helped and waited on us. Beach nearby is amazing.

I wasn’t planning to stay for more than 1 drink, but the staff was so nice and friendly. Together with the amazing view… I ended up staying the whole afternoon til sunset. I was there by myself, but it’s definitely a nice place for couples and friends to spend the day. Delicious food as well.

Such an amazing experience!! Food was gorgeous, after 5 years living in Ireland I’ve forgotten how food for some cultures can be about affection and heritage. We enjoyed every single one of our courses. Staff was great and very friendly, Bruno our waiter was brilliant 🤩 My boyfriend has hearing loss, but during the explanation about the dishes Bruno was super attentive. We are definitely coming back!

Bizar was our experience. We called the day in advance to reserve the signature restaurant. No availibility for lunch or dinner. There was an event. Breakfast was plate service, it was cold, service was poor. We took lunch at the informal restaurant but felt very much unwelcome. Waiters simply did not provide any response to a question like: may I have some ice please? The hotel is at the beach but there are no facilities to enjoy it. No swimming pool, beds, umbrellas. There is a smalk terrace with tables and chairs. Rooms are almost EUR 300 per night. We wonder why anyone in their right mind would want to stay.

I don’t know who this hotel got 5 stars. Very noisy, you can here everything what is going on in lobby, bar and outside. Breakfast service was very slow and food was not great. Rooms are full of mosquitoes, my husband got at least 10 bites. I asked extra blanket but after 1 hour of waiting they told me there are no blankets! Honestly i got very disappointed with this hotel. There is no swimming pool and no direct access to the beach from hotel, you have to go around. No lounges on the beach, unless you have to pay for them.

The service and the location made our stay so wonderful here. The hotel is at the far end of Cascais on Guincho beach - which has stunning views, a quieter feel, and is pretty magical. And the staff and service was 5 stars. To note, you CAN walk to some places to eat, but the main areas of Cascais are either a short drive or bike away. We loved it here.

Location and Staff ist Superb. The Hotel itself is dissapointing. The rooms are all located around the Lobby which makes the rooms very loud in the evening and morning, especially when the Restaurant is open. At least the bathroom in our room needed some urgent repairs, e.g. the shower head could not really be used since the mount was broken. The food was tasty, but overall I this is not worth the 5 Stars.

The hotel is located 10 minutes north of Cascais. It is on a quiet beach front well known to surf enthusiasts. Old fashioned fort, quaint and beautiful. Rooms were good sized and comfortable. Breakfast was sumptuous and staff were incredible. There is an excellent restaurant on site which was unfortunately closed for the 2 days we were there. Highly recommend the hotel!

We stayed here for 4 nights, last month. Excellent hotel, with very good service and staff. Splurged on the tasting menu at the restaurant, which was a great experience. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it as a great hub for visitors who want to access areas outside of Lisbon, without staying in the city.

We enjoyed our stay, the food, the furnishings, and the service. This is definitely a more remote location but we knew that upon booking. Coming into the stay with an open mind would certainly be helpful; this is an old fort, not a custom built luxury hotel. I was bummed they didn't have a gym/spa but there ocean is steps away. Furthermore, there is not only a boardwalk but a running path that goes for miles. The history is absolutely incredible...along with the view! Thank you again!

This is a very special property, a fortress that was built in the 16th century and was later converted into a luxury hotel. There are very few rooms but with outstanding service. The Michelin star resto is an excellent delight for staying here and the breakfast is also outstanding. Room comes w complementary minibar, cookies, fruit bowl and a bottle of local wine. The cookies are so good that I literally asked to buy a kg. What we appreciate the most is the kindness of its staff. We booked a restaurant down the road and my mom is 80 yo and it was hard to call an Uber for a 600-meter stretch ride. It was very difficult to walk the stretch when the outside wind was blowing at 40-60 km/hr. The GM drove us there and picked us up after the dinner. Thanks so much for taking extra initiative to help us out. We also had a wonderful day visiting Sintra, The Palace of Peña and the lovely town of Cascais. Uber is very convenient and cheap here, but if you want to stay longer and explore more of the area, rent a car. I would recommend booking a room w an open terrace. There are only 4 of such in the hotel. You won’t regret it.

This was the best place and experience I had while visiting Portugal. A 5 star service and room everyday for less than what I have paid at hotels in Miami. The view from the balcony was spectacular. It is like California views but in a conservative castle like style of luxury. You have to be there to experience it. The only thing is to be prepared for those of us not seafood people in general Portugal is mostly seafood but the restaurant did have am amazing burger and breakfast felt like I was royalty, so I didn't starve lol

Memorable dinning experience in a Michelin stars restaurant. Service was outstanding and the view was breathtaking. I loved the hotel except the beds, felt like sleeping on a hard board.

My wife organized a romantic package with a 2 night stay. The breakfast on my birthday was served in the room and we could sit and eat on the balcony and enjoy the view to the sea and hear the great and relaxing noises of the waves☺️ The hotel and its rooms are in great conditions and made with lot of love. It was a great and comfortable weekend.

We were just passing by, and saw a dish "local cheeses" on the menu outside. So we tried that one, it was excellent, but the real treat was how beautiful this place is. Next time we`ll book the hotel for sure. Excellent service as well. Real top notch!

Very expensive to have a cup of champagne on a terrace a piece of fish served by a young girl it went for 90 euros !!!! The vast hall looks a little deserted, the bar opens late, The staff is a little old and not very professional for a pretensious 5 star restaurant and cuttlery fell constantly on the floor amid couples, cyclists, and families sitting on terrace with beautiful ocean view , at least!

It’s more than dining; it’s an adventure. Count on 2 1/2-3 hours for the short menu which was mostly seafood based. Very clever dish concepts with amusing names. Some work better than others but all expertly prepared and presented. The food was very complex and though not rich, was very filling. Expert, professional service. They were very accommodating to dietary restrictions for a member of our party (gluten-free, no dairy). We forgot to tell the kitchen about a food allergy, and they didn’t miss a beat. The wine selections and service were exceptional. Highlight courses were the “global warming” ice with sorbet, bread and butter, sea broth with crustaceans, line-caught sea bass and the pineapple dessert with olive oil ice cream.

Stunning building and views on the sea / coast are exceptional. The hotel itself isn’t cheap, but also not exorbitant. Charming staff.

Great place for surfing and foodies! The fine restaurant is one michelin starred, although the food is so much better than what we had at some 3 starred michelin restaurants. We will absolutely come back!!!

Gorgeous hotel, nice lunch, nice staff and that view…wow. I found Cascais by accident but what a wonderful part of the world. Will definitely come back in the future.
