Came here as part of a tour bus. Place was extremely underwhelming. They have a TV out in the open plaza where you can watch whatever game the owner set it to. There's an itinerant saxophone artist who plays his sax on the statue followed by walking around asking for tips. At least several flies in the vicinity at all times. Employees who joke with customers, even when things are bad, and not like lightening the mood kind of joking, just goof-off joking. The dishes we had were largely forgettable or just bad. We had a seafood arroz that was underseasoned and bland, which is usually pretty hard when you're using shrimp heads in the soup. There were also tiny crab parts that had insignificant amounts of crab meat that made it pointless to even bother breaking them open. The ice cream with bits of caramel in it was OK, but the whole experience was just all-in-all bad.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this place. The meals were quite good, but there were several issues that made our lunch not very enjoyable. First, we had to wait for the meals (nothing sophisticated) for more than one hour. Second, one of the meals contained a piece of plastic - the only thing the staff told us was that the meat comes packed and that's why😆. Not a word of excuse, no compensation offered. Also, if you go there, you can expect you will pay for the "couvert" automatically (+- 3 EUR per person) even without touching it (we are perfectly aware that the couvert is a normal thing in Portugal, but come on, if you don't touch it at all?). Not a word about it in the menu. To conclude, a trap for tourists. Avoid this place if you can.

We got the calamari and it was scary. It didn’t taste like real squid, it was the equivalent to chicken nuggets being considered real chicken. It was a big portion, but when all the food is bad it’s not a great thing. Lots of soggy fries, and a salad with carrots and a heaping amount of raw onion. Safe to say my plate was pretty stinky. For a poor dish it was very expensive. They charged you for a starter you never asked for. There were two of us and we left spending at least €35.

I normally never do a bad review but this place brought me over the edge. I have worked in food service before, so I know how hard it is for service workers. But this place is just heights of incompetence. The servers are not at fault as it’s their leader who has no clue how to run an efficient establishment. The food coming out was good, when it did come out that is. Our food took more than an hour to come out, even after repeatedly letting them know we had 1.5 hours to eat and be back at our pickup. For 1.5 hours we sat there with the one drink given to us and no food. Our food started trickling in at the 1 hour and 15 min mark giving us a chance to nibble on some items. The rest of the food came 5 min to the time we were supposed to leave. Needless to say, we cancelled the rest of the food and had to walk away. The owner/manager made no effort to come apologize, or even looked remotely concerned about any of his customers who were waiting for their food for such an immense long time. Sad but will never go back and Will recommend everyone to avoid. Way too many other choices around.

This place is a typical tourist trap: they serve starters without even asking if the guests want them. In the end, these made up a fifth of the bill. We also waited a very long time for our food and some of it was burnt black. The soft drinks were lukewarm, which is why the ice cubes in the glass dissolved into water after two minutes. The parts that were not burnt tasted ok, but compared to other restaurants the food was not worth the price in our opinion. So in the end we can't recommend this place. For less money you get much better food in other restaurants.

Average food, long waiting time and a bit of a tourist trap. Luckily when they placed the olives, bread, cheese and butter when seated, we asked if those items were for free. The waiter smirkingly said no. We then had them take it away except for the olives which meant we didn't have to pay another 6 or so Euros for stuff we didn't order. Then the main food: Waiting time was quite long and when it arrived, the food was between average to disappointing for my partner. She ordered the Tortellini which were horrendous with an overly salty milk sauce. I ordered the Seabass which was actually decent but the cooked veggies and potatoes were cheap and average in taste. Staff were not friendly or professional either. Overall, sadly wouldn't recommend.

Superb food at a busy place where you would not expect it. The owner is one of a kind and the best restaurateur we havee er seen. Invigorated place but absolutely worth enjoying a meal there! ❤️

After being seated and bread and oil brought to us we waited 25 minutes to order drinks and food...and that only happened because we finally flagged someone down because we were so thirsty from the bread. We ordered "Portuguese" fish and chips that turned out to be bony white fish in a soggy breading accompanied by soggy, tasteless fries. Chicken PiriPiri was a baked chicken breast served with a bottle of PiriPiri sauce. The ambiance is definitely there because it's Cascais, so of course there is ambience ... But sadly that's all they have going for them.

This place is fine if you’re in Cascais. I got the piri piri chicken and it was pretty good and flavorful. It came with a side of fries and a small salad which were ok. The service was a bit slow and all over the place. I probably wouldn’t come back

Charming British “Capturer” sweet personel - a good Sangria - and the bottled beer you cant spoil. But the food was boring, vegetable was boring. The fish was not the fresh quality you would ecpect. And even the omelet was spoiled with glass aparagus. The olives were good. But all in all - waste of money.

So we waited 1 hour 10 minutes for the starter to come. We didn't want to wait for the rest anymore. Not recommended at all. To note that it was not that crowded!

In the five years we have come to cascais, the duke is our main restaurant. The chef makes lovely grilled fish ánd succulent steaks. The ovenbaked fish is our favorite. The owner is very friendly -he even bought toys for our kids- and the rest of the staff is happy to make you feel welcome. Dodge the tourist traps and enjoy good portugese cuisine here. Trust us, we belgians know a thing or two about cooking 😄.

The seafood was excellent. Some of the best we have had in Portugal. Generous portions, super fresh food and friendly service with a family feel. The garlic prawns were so good we had them twice. And the clams were amazing. Eat on the terrace in the back. Recommended.

This has been our go-to pub for watching fútbol for a few years. Love the Clams Bulhão Pato style & the steak you cook on a hot stone at your table. Great place to stop for a drink or a full meal.

They left a small cheese, olives and bread on the table and told me after that they would not have charged me if I asked to remove the items. They said this is normal. Over priced, spent over €30.00 euros, and food was ok, nothing special. Main gripe is the person at the restaurant insisted it’s normal in Portugal to leave food and then ask for it to be removed otherwise you’ll be charged … bit of a tourist trap.

Very underwhelming! The food was okay, we all ordered the „Portuguese“ fish and chips which were just regular fish and chips and it was good. Unfortunately we had to wait over an hour to get our food although the restaurant was not fully booked. Also we had to ask for the check 3 times until someone brought it to us. All in all it was okay but the waiting really bothered us. So if you are really hungry I don’t recommend going there!

😐 So, firstly, the food here was very good! The starters were very tasty and huge portions (so beware unless you're really hungry), and the pizzas we had were delicious. And if you have a table by the window facing the sea, the view is lovely. However... overall experience was soured by poor service....

👍👍 Perfection. Spider crab was very well cooked, and was cut and set to eat with least effort. Steamed octopus was so tender and seafood rice had rich taste. And all the foods went so well with green wine. Wish I could visit again.
