Great place for a family holiday located next to the ocean. Professional and accomodating staff, clean and reasonably equipped rooms and lovely lovely food. Breakfasts were a bit repetitive but dinners were always spot on. 2 sizeable swimming pools - outdoor and indoor with green leafy swimming pool area where you can seat in the sun or in a shade of a tree - perfect.

Terrible experience at this hotel. Rooms weren't ready and I had booked 3 deluxe sea view rooms under my name online. They wouldn't even let me add the other guests names till we got there. Small lobby and they didn't speak English well. I would think hotel front desk would even if we are in another country. Roons were tiny. Beds were singles pushed together. My bed was tilted to a point where I fell out of the bed and I ended up sleeping on the sofa the first night. Shower has half a swinging door and it's not safe if you accidentally lean on it. When I complained to the front desk the next morning, they ignored me at first and spoke in pirtugese to each other. Finally they said they'd have housekeeping take a look at my bed? We left all day and nothing changed and no one cared. Deluxe sea vie is a slicer of the water and the pool. One pool was eyesore under construction. Odd location as it's in the middle if residential and you have to walk a couple blocks ro get anywhere onto the water. 5 min I er ride to town and train station. Horrible experience and I don't recommend Pestana to anyone.

It was our last day in Portugal and we didn't have a hotel reservation. We decided to stay outside of Lisbon, to avoid all the hustle and get something cheaper. As the day went by, I got increasingly more frustrated as I was not able to find and reserve any hotels that were in a decent location, with decent prices, that still had availability for four people. Somehow, I was able to find a spot at Pestana Hotel, about 40 minutes from the Lisbon airport. Incredible and reasonable prices. We arrived pretty late in the evening, so parking was scarce, but still reasonable. The couple checking in before us took an eternity to get situated, we were checked in within minutes. When we arrived to our room, I mean, suite, I mean, basically a two room condo with two full baths, a foyer, kitchenette, two balconies… I couldn’t stop giggling. The place was enormous!! I had paid roughly 300 euros for what I thought were two rooms, we got the nicest place I have ever stayed at. Everything is super clean and it’s a quiet neighborhood. The building is a bit dated, but it was just perfect for us. Oh, they did have free breakfast, which we missed because we had to leave early for the airport. I slept like a little baby.

We really liked this hotel and enjoyed our stay there. It wasn't that warm out so didn't take a dip in the pool. The football pitch was good to have so the boys were able to play The view from our suite was fantastic, it was lovely waking up and looking at the water and lovely to watch the sunsets in the evening. The bar staff were great and the desserts were also good.

The hotel itself is good, the rooms are nice but the service is terrible and the food could be better. They serve almost the same dishes every day and the restaurant doesn't have enough space for the guests, they can't even provide food for everyone. We were in a group of 40 people and they said they've left a space for us, the space was like 3 tables. My family and I had to wait half an hour for a table while there were tables available and people were taking their seats. This is absurd for a 4* hotel with a high rating. The owner needs to do something about this.

I enjoyed my stay. Stayed for 4 nights. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Lot's of choices. Rooms are very clean and bed was comfortable. Fresh towels every day. Outdoor area is peaceful and relaxing. Location is good. It was a €5 taxi ride to the centre of Cascais. Uber was cheaper..around €3.70. Walking was 25mins The reason I gave it a 4 star is because I didn't like the noise level in my room. I was on the 4th floor. Walls seem to be very thin and my neighbours were up at 6.30am every morning, which woke me. Maybe I had noisy neighbours but it was frustrating to be woken up so early when I'm on vacation. I could hear toilets being flushed, the showers (normally you don't hear this in hotels!) Doors slamming and also what sounded like furniture being moved!! I'm a light sleeper so unfortunately it was a noise disturbance for me.

We are just leaving on our final day of an 8 day stay here. We didnt have meals here apart from the breakfast which was great. The staff at the bar and reception and breakfast were very professional polite helpful and friendly. The house keeping staff were excellent. The room as spacious, comfortable with a lovely balcony. The pool was great with plenty of loungers and no one getting up early to claim them! It was a lovely walk into the town but there were also bars and restaurants nearby and shops. I would hope to return here in the future.

Good rooms, bad restaurant. The staff is rude, no one knows what’s going on and each send you to speak with someone else when at the end turns out “you have to help yourself”, because the higher staff is “resting”. This is not acceptable for a four star hotel! Very disappointed!

Very bad attitude towards certain nationalities in the restaurant. Rude, disrespectful. Discrimination. Extremely disappointed. When you come expecting a holiday and feel like being sent to the concentration camp. Old.

Looks very nice. We just dropped some friends off here. But it looks like we will be back ourselves for a stay. Impressed with what we saw.

Very well run hotel. We enjoyed our stay: good selection for buffet breakfast, clean room and surrounding area, quiet location. Was not too far to city center and local restaurants. Extremely friendly staff. Definitely will consider this hotel next time I will visit Cascais.

Second visit 10 years from last and still love it. Great friendly hotel and breakfast is simply awesome. Lovely running routes and walks if you prefer.

No air conditioning! Wasn't working when we arrived, still not working a week later. Uncomfortable at night. This is not 4 star, parts of hotel quite dated. Pool area lovely, breakfast same limited choice every day.

Great place to rest. Very close to the sea, lighthouse, and a 15-minute walk to the city centre. Rooms are cosy and spacious with spacious balconies. The garden around the hotel is well managed.

The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful. Wonderful buffet breakfast. Had a shuttle that went downtown on weekdays.

Stayed here in September 23. The hotel has a fine location. A secure and clean area to stay. Supermarket Pingo at 500 meters, bakery/lunchroom at 100m. Hotel itself is OK. Large rooms and they are clean. The kitchen, beds and bathroom need attention. The kitchen has a electric cooker 2000w, works fine. There is no extraction hood. Not enough Crockery and cutlery. No wineglasses. No handtowels, no dishcloth, it was described. Every day new (bathing) towels and clean beds. No airco, but an ok circulation systeem. Bathroom .. is clean and no water problems. Thats it. Old and the fix-up is done by someone uncapable. Beds are clean, fine sheets, matras gives you backproblems. Personel is helpfull, not very enthousiast and sometimes disorganised. The breakfastroom is too small, not enough Seats to handle the guests. Its creating a queue. Breakfast itself was above expections. Everything you wish is there, even Gluten- lactose free products. For coffee, go to the bakery across the hotel. The outside pool is great, clean and less chlorine. Enough beds and space for a pool-day. The hotel provides a bathtowel service. At last, the hotel has a shuttle service which drives you to the centre. Too bad you can’t trust in when its driving or not. No guarentees. Shoud I recommend it? I still doubt.

The room/hotel needs some updating. I’m sure they know this… Great indoor swimming pool. Perfect for a weekend stay. Very good price for the location. Beautiful sea view from our bedroom.

Have a deluxe sea view rooms and balcony are large but no sun beds on the balcony, the biggest disappointment is the bathroom, very small ,shower in the bath quite dangerous for elderly. Very old decor and fittings.

Great hotel to take a rest. Calm and nice surroundings, very close to the lighthouse and sea, but also only 10 minutes walk to Boca do Inferno and 15 minutes walk to the city centre.

Maybe worst ever and cheapest mattress I have seen by far, I was wondering how would anyone allowe having something like thay in 4star hotel. Staff is lacking of proper hospitality training, they are not bad, just someone needs to show them basics. On the other hand rooms are clean, hotel is clean in general. Food options for breakfast are basic, but rather ok. Doors and rooms aren't the best, maybe older, and sound proofing is kind of a problem. Solid 3 star hotel

Very nice hotel for the price. Close to the sea, shame there isnt a gate to allow direct access. Breakfast was good. Never seemed too busy at any point, including the very nice indoor pool. Room have been updated apart from the patio doors, but very pleasant. Easy access to the motorway to Lisbon, take the sea front road into centre of Cascais. Would reccommend.

It was Nice, but the indoor pool could have been a bit warmer. The breakfast was good. The staff was really Nice. The kitchnette was fully equiped. And its was a shame that they ONLY have 1 massuesse and She was already fully booked for the weekend, it would be a good improvement to have a backup One or have some kind of partnership with a massage place that would be available to send someone to assure that the guests can enjoy all the services that the hotel is suposed to offer.

Lovely hotel with super friendly staff. Good variety breakfast. Rooms spacious with large balcony. Parking easy, and if not you can use the street. Lovely stay.

Quite decent rooms and we had a nice view of the ocean. Excellent service and very friendly staff. Beware that sounds from the rooms carries easily into the hallway and neighbouring rooms.

Free Shuttle bus to the train station Monday to Friday. Otherwise infrequent bus or 30 minute walk. Very good breakfast, indoor and outdoor pool. Friendly reception . Microwave and hot ring, teas and coffees in the room

Rooms good, staff helpful. Only stayed B and B, breakfasts not that wonderful. Dining room frequently overcrowded. No nearby beaches, but good cheap bus service into Cascais.

Small studios in a row long corridor, indoor small pool, a larger one outside, in a nice garden, nice breakfast, sympathetic staff. Small Kitchen and balcony near a minimarket, cafes a step away from the sea. Public transportation not frequently, as a little outside the center. Pitty you don't understand finish as you surrounded by large old Nordic groups!!!! Does not feel Portugal at all.

For me it is not worth the money. There are other hotels you can choose from for less money with greater views, swimming pools and service.

  • 5/5 Sergio L. 1 year ago on Google
Everything perfect. From the reception, with Renata, Ricardo e Bernardo, Sira, Igor and José at the restaurante and pool bar, to the tireless Roque, all over the place, they all make the hotel to be unforgetable. Highly recomended to all types of clients. Congratulations.

Nice hotel for staying. but; Some staff are there just for themselves not for the guests. They chat with each other instead of answering your question. A group of drunk was terrorising the pool area, and othe guests, we complaint about it and we received this typical "yes, yes look". Shame. If you don't intend to stay at the hotel, it might be an option. Keep in mind as well that you are not very close to Lisbon.

A genuinely nice hotel near the sea. The rooms are big and very clean. Breakfast is very good with a lot of options. For me specifically, the gym is not well equipped with problematic opening hours.

I stayed in Cascais in September and was looking at staying the at 5-star Vila Gale, but it was fully booked, so I found Hotel Pestana and was impressed. LOCATION: I flew to Lisbon and got the train to Cascais. You can get the Metro from outside the airport where you take the red line to ALAMEDA then switch on the green line to CAIS DO SODRE, from there you can get a train to Cascais (Cascais is the last stop on the line). Alternatively, you can get a bus to CAIS DO SODRE or get a taxi straight to Cascais. You can get a taxi or a 10 min bus ride to Av. Manuel Júlio Carvalho e Costa and walk a few mins to the hotel. It's a stone's throw away from Casa de Guia and there is a supermarket called VIP across the road from the hotel. You can walk into the town centre in about 30 mins or get a bus for 2 EUR. VENUE: I had a room on the 6th floor with a sea view, it was clean and there is a safety deposit box you can use for free. Just ask the Receptionist for it, they will tell you the code and show you how to change the safe code. Breakfast is served from 7am until 11am and serves a range of cereals, fruits, breads, yoghurts, teas/coffees, juices and cold meats. You can have dinner for 25EUR (excludes drinks) in the hotel's restaurant. There are 2 swimming pools but currently only the outdoor swimming pool is operational as the indoor pool is being renovated. You can also get pool towels from reception. Only stayed for a few days and was outdoors most of the time, but it's a reliable hotel. Clean, friendly staff and not too far from local attractions. Would recommend if visiting Cascais.

😐 So, firstly, the food here was very good! The starters were very tasty and huge portions (so beware unless you're really hungry), and the pizzas we had were delicious. And if you have a table by the window facing the sea, the view is lovely. However... overall experience was soured by poor service....

👍👍 Perfection. Spider crab was very well cooked, and was cut and set to eat with least effort. Steamed octopus was so tender and seafood rice had rich taste. And all the foods went so well with green wine. Wish I could visit again.
