We (my husband and daughter, age 12) wanted an authentic, active experience in Cascais and Joao/Cascais Routes exceeded expectations in every regard. We started the day climbing (first time outside of a climbing wall for all of us) on a cliff with an amazing ocean view. Joao and his team were very supportive and encouraging. Then, we did a boulder hike, trekked through the forest exploring tunnel doors that led to centuries old irrigation systems (so cool!) followed by a delicious lunch at a restaurant only locals know about. It was our favorite meal in Portugal. After lunch, we’d originally planned to go mountain biking but decided to do another hike. It was an untraveled path from a local neighborhood out to the cliffs overlooking the sea. Only a local would know about this hike. It was incredible. We ended the day surfing. Joao could not have been a more gracious host. It was a bespoke day and everything was planned to flawlessly. You cannot go wrong trusting your precious vacation time with Cascais Route

It was after the second day in the summer outdoor camp. Zion, my 7-year-old son, took the champion pose and released an " I LOOOOOVE IT". There's no better proof for me. My child woke up by himself, walked happily into his day, and returned delighted, energised, and inspired. The fab team provided exciting, safe activities in nature and held space for connection, joy, and learning. It gave me peace of mind and fulfilment to know Zion in the hands of Cascais Routes. We had a fantastic time rock climbing in Cascais with Cascais Routes! Joao is an excellent guide and instructor. He picked a beautiful spot and quickly assessed our capabilities, and got us to push a bit beyond our comfort zones as well. He was patient, kind, and encouraging.We can’t wait to climb with Cascais Routes again and hope to try some of the other activities they offer as well. Put these guys at the top of your list when visiting Lisbon.

I did the rock climbing half day tour in Cascais and the half day surf trip in Praia do Guincho. The climbing portion was excellent, beautiful views and enough challenging routes to keep yourself busy. The surfing half day was fun as well, the currents were strong but João and Bernard made us feel safe the entire time. They were very patient and had a great sense of humor. I would recommend Cascais routes for your outdoor adventures in and around Cascais.

Wonderful team, amazing adventures for kids of all ages. Great ratio of (wonderful) counselors to kids so they can really build skills, confidence and have fun. Highly recommend and we will be back. ❤️

Had some surf classes with a friend and teacher Bernado. Even tho the waves were very intense and the ocean was not helping. He did a great job teaching us to stay calm and to enjoy as much as possible. We didn’t get scared and will definitely get back in summer for some more classes. Thanks again

I went for a 3h guided climbing session in Cascais and had a wonderful experience. Joao took us to a great spot by the cliffs with many routes to choose from for all skill levels. The equipment provided was excellent and our guide made sure all safety measures were taken care of. Thank you for a great day - I would come back any time.

Fantastic team! Cascais Routes organized our daughter's birthday with great activities and recently we have been climbing with them. Always a great experience and again, always impressed with the quality and friendliness of the team.

Amazing experience and highly recommended. I was here for a short holiday and was looking for a private rock climbing experience. João was super friendly and flexible, he taught me how to lead and it was so much fun climbing outdoor.

With a group of 6 people we did the half day Macgyver adventure package - rock climbing and surfing. Joao and his team organised the most amazing day - everything was perfect!

My son goes with Cascais Routes after school (they pick him up along with several others). It is honestly very well organised and fun for the kids. Every week is different with activities such as kayaking, surfing, skateboarding, navigation in the forest, mountain biking, and rock climbing. My son is always very happy playing with his friends when I pick up him up. I really recommend this for kids after school as well as on weekends or holiday camps! João and his team are really nice and excellent with children. My son said they will try to explain it differently if he does not understand the instructions.

Amazing day exploring and adventuring. Joao was so patient with me and I felt so confident in the activities. Such a fun way to experience the area!
