Páteo do Guincho

Restaurant

😐 Restaurant with a great atmosphere. It was almost full and had a great view to the sea. The Staff were not great, as they made mistakes like adding food to the bill that we ordered but they forgot to bring. The food was good, especially the grilled shrimps. I’m giving this rating especially because... People often mention service, good, great,

Restaurant with a great atmosphere. It was almost full and had a great view to the sea. The Staff were not great, as they made mistakes like adding food to the bill that we ordered but they forgot to bring. The food was good, especially the grilled shrimps. I’m giving this rating especially because of the staff that could be better but I still recommend it.

We were cycling around this area and found this place by accidently, but I'm glad we did. It was wonderful to have lunch here! The waitress who helped us to choose the food was very, very nice and all our dishes were very delicious. Thank you! ❤️

This place has changed so much in the last 3-4 years it’s basically unrecognizable. Still enjoy some of the food like the muscles but can’t stand the regimented format they are now going for. The view is still awesome but that’s about it. Sad

Created a lunch of 5 entradas and shared a perfect steak, for 6 happy people. We talked, laughed and nibbled for 3 hours. Highly recommend the eggplant stuffed with bleu cheese, garlic shrimp, and oodles of bread.

Have visited many times since late 2021 and always enjoyed- both dinner and lunch - with family. Well considered menu,(not the usual tourist dishes), and great staff (they listen to what you ask for). Not the cheapest of places, but you get quality food in a beautiful setting.

We went there at 19:32 without reservation, seeing an empty restaurant ( for sure 35-40 seats free). Informing the staff that we will eat fast (30min). We, 3 persons did not get a table as we were informed that at 20:00 all tables are reserved. As we know the culture of Portugal customers are always a little bit late. Conclusion if you have a restaurant and you are afraid to earn money, please ask the employees, they will explain you how to do it! Thanks ! Last time when we were there (2weeks ago) we spend 75€ in 35 min.

Consistently good food and good service. Nice location away from the crowded centre, but be sure to make a reservation. Prices aimed at the tourist trade, but fair. Wine list more complete than similar places.

This place is not so easy to find as it's in the Clube Don Carlos that offers tennis courts and riding. The road access is potholed so don't go with your clean car after the rain and if you are concerned with your suspension. The portions for the most part are large so you may wish to take left-overs home as I did with the pig-cheeks (bochecha de porco). They have some nice starters and special bread: corn bread (broa de milo) etc. Prices are higher than average especially for the meat that can be charged by weight. The service was attentive for the most part though less so when busy. A place you can have some privacy and close to Guincho Beach. There are some good less expensive alternatives in Areia village just across the roundabout if you like an Indian or Portuguese style menu..

Wow on the welcome by Pedro and Bruno and amazing food highlighting the best of Portuguese "petiscos" which I wish the photos could capture

Good service, wide selection of tapas and mains. Nice wine selection, good food. I'd come back and eat here. Would benefit from better descriptions of the for on the menu e.g. I ordered wasabi tuna with no hint from the menu or staff that the wasabi came in the form of wasabi mash potato?

Only a short walk from camping Orbitus. Staff is friendly and eager to explain the menu. Menu cards are also available in English. The interior is lit in warm light which gives it a cozy atmosphere. As usual they put the bread, oil and butter on the table and charge you 4 euro for it if you want/eat it or not, a practice many Portugese restaurants seem to use. I had the neck meat portion which is sort of grilled fat which was good, but it was VERY salty as were the fries that came with it. Another point of annoyance was that they serve the courses very quickly one after the other. The appetizer wasn't even finished and the main course was already brought over. If you dine in a restaurant you want to be able to enjoy your food and eat at a relaxed pace but they fail to understand that here. Almost instantly after the main course we were asked about our dessert choose, but we declined because they leave no room for your food to digest a bit. Prices for wine per bottle is quite high ranging from 16 to 25 euro. Strangely enough it's 3,5 euro for a glass so it's better to order per glass instead of per bottle.

A definite upgrade from the sister restaurants of Pateo do Petisco in a more secluded and natural position. Better for meats than for the fish but an overall good food experience.

😐 So, firstly, the food here was very good! The starters were very tasty and huge portions (so beware unless you're really hungry), and the pizzas we had were delicious. And if you have a table by the window facing the sea, the view is lovely. However... overall experience was soured by poor service....

👍👍 Perfection. Spider crab was very well cooked, and was cut and set to eat with least effort. Steamed octopus was so tender and seafood rice had rich taste. And all the foods went so well with green wine. Wish I could visit again.
