The place looks great, the food is very nice, but they ruin it all completely with the horrific service! There were five staff members working and the place was filled to 1/5th of it's capacity, so that should be easy. However..... We ordered a cocktail and a small sangria (1lt) and some food. The food arrived after about 15 minutes, but still no drinks. Even after I walked to the staff twice to ask for the drink nothing, after we nearly finished the food the drinks arrived however without glasses, and it's kind of a challenge to drink sangria straight out of the carafe... So I asked for the glasses, multiple times, even walked to the bar to get them, by the time we got them the food was finished and cold. No real excuses, it's a pity because the spot and food is really good, they just ruin it with the service

Restaurant with a high ambience. All the area are set up so beautifully with nice lighting artificial flowers and mild music. Ambience is so perfect for a romantic dinner. We had multiple dishes from here and all were fabulous! Just try the same out.

I almost didn’t come here because of the reviews. I decided to anyways and glad I did. (1) many of the reviews complain about the service. In my experience, they were fast and friendly. What else do you need? (2) food was good; we had salad, cuttle fish and octopus. All basic but good and tasty. (3) were prices high? Yeah, a bit. But look at the view! What’s the matter with people here? You want to sit on the ocean, with a amazing view, and get cheap food? Let me know when/where you find this unicorn. Does it come with a back rub?

We arrived at 9PM on a Monday… There were 5 waiters inside of the restaurant talking about random things extremely loud and that had apparently nothing better to do. The manager arrived at around 9:45PM, just sat at one of the tables, as she was in her living room, and started talking with the other 5 waiters and being on her phone. The breads served as couvert were not fresh, the olives had so much salt and garlic that we could not eat. On the menu there were two different dishes: One smoked meat and the other called “Portuguese Steak”. The waiter did not know the difference between them. Furthermore she said: The smoked one you have to move to a table with a chimney… So, we chose for the “Portuguese Steak”. The meat was tasteless, it was completely raw inside and it was not made on the grill… It seemed to have been done in boiling water… There were some bacon on the top of the meat completely raw and some chips straight out of the package… In addition, the sauce was extremely salty… At 10PM we still had half bottle of wine to go and we were offered coffee… When I said I did not want coffee, the bill was brought to the table even me never asking for it… The waiters started to get really lousy and in a rush to close, being rude and taking the bottle of wine out of our hands, so they could poor more in the glasses. The place was open until 11PM according to their own opening times, so we still had one hour to go if we wanted to. I will never go back to this place and I do not recommend it to anyone… I will spread my words as much as I can… I visit Portugal frequently and this is the worst restaurant I’ve even been in the whole country… Just avoid!

Just a lovely place on man ways. Very hummble staff Ca’tia give us the best service you can get. The food was very god the tuna were outstanding the best I ever have had. The lokation just beside the atlantic makes it so magnific. With love Ulrika

A lovely atmosphere with excellent food and service. Timely service despite being busy, and they are very accommodating for food preferences. I would definitely come back. Menu is in Portuguese and English.

While then don't have an iPhone charger, they do have great food. We had lunch at 4pm and the outdoor seating was great overlooking the Atlantic. Well done.

What a gem! You must try this place. The steak was cooked to perfection along with the mushroom risotto. Our server Catia was amazing! She helped us chose delicious dishes. The dessert was amazing.

Lovely location and a really nice atmosphere. Staff were lovely but service was definitely quite slow - not a problem if you aren't starving and are happy to have a slow drawn out meal on your holidays. It's definitely a nice spot with great views.

After seeing some of the reviews I was a little deterred but I can safely say I’m glad I still came. The view is spectacular, the service was timely and the staff were attentive and so friendly. The food was not incredible but still very yummy, however I came mainly for the view which was incredible. Overall I would recommend to anyone who would like a spectacular sunset view over Cascais.

The restaurant is located in the beautiful Casa da Guia complex, this place has amazing views and a nice atmosphere. The dishes; I had Portuguese steak, the portion is ok, the flavor was good and I recommend it. The other dish was a Shrimp and Lemon Risotto, almost tasteless and a bit bitter. We had a glass of sagria, it was good. The staff were friendly but the service could be better, we spent a lot of time at the table waiting for the order and the restaurant was empty at that time. Overall, worth a second round, but has the potential for more.

We just had a wonderful evening in this beautiful restaurant for a big family group special occasion. The views are just wonderful and the staff were so lovely great service, they looked after our family all night. The food was really tasty, everyone really enjoyed the dishes, fabulous fish dishes, there was no food left on the dishes. Look forward to returning soon.

We enjoyed their foods and great views at the terrace table. Especially the duck risotte was delicious. Happy to taste one of popular portuguese foods finally.

Absolut tourist trap, avoid it at all costs!! As soon as we were identified as tourists (speaking english) the service was over. No waiter/waitress paid any attention to us anymore. Seeing new guests arriving and their tables being extra cleaned, we were wondering, why our table was not cleaned up on arrival. We had to ask for drinks serveral times till we got served. After asking for the bill, we waited 15 minutes while seeing that serveral other tables finished their meal and paid (by card btw.) After finally receiving the bill, we had to wait another 10 mins, till we went to the bar to get the payment over with. At the bar, no payment by card was possible. After handing over the payment in cash (I was expecting change), the waitress just left the restaurant with our money and the receipt. After asking another bartender about my change, he immediately gave us the exact amount of change (without knowing what we had to pay or should have received as change). They tried to scam us in such an obvious way, it was just a horrible experience! One star is only for the very beautiful view on the sea.

Agree with previous review. One star o ly for the great views. Other than that, just a bunch of rude waiters who make it appear to be an effort to serve you and are slow. Made a massive fuss when we asked them to open a parasol for a bit of shade from the hot sun!

NEVER AGAIN!!! Service was absolutely terrible: dirty glasses, no one was coming over to check if we needed anything, ordered a beer that didn't come, staff was very rude to us. We ordered steak on a hot plate but one plate was not oily so the meat stuck to it and when we adressed this, it took 30 minutes as we had to ask 3 times to get a new hot plate. The food was over priced, all we got was some meat and french fries. And there was much more that went wrong, so overall it was one of the worst dinners we have ever had!

Not the best place. Sangria isn't worth it. White wine is good quality but comes warm. The starters are good! Main dishes might be over priced. Service isn't great. They brought us the wrong dish and got mad at us for refusing to pay for it.

I enjoyed every moment of the meal in Paladar da Guia. I had a 3 course meal, and everything was perfect. For starters, the clams and the steamed shrimps were excellent. For mains we had the cuttlefish with a delicious onion and pearsley sauce , and another dish of grilled tuna. Both were very tasty. The desserts were delicious too, I totally recommend the pumpkin dessert with requeijão ice cream. Considering the quality and the location, the price is very reasonable. I totally recommend sitting outside, with amazing views to the ocean. Go for sunset and you won't regret.

Great spot for Sunshine weather. Fantastic view of North Atlantic Ocean. Good food and wine, reasonable priced and reasonable customer service. Recommended ;)

The view is amazing, the shrimp was very tasty, including the caprese salad. We had a glass of white wine which was ok. This is a very nice area in Cascais with a lot of great restaurants. This one is a great option!
