I love the Sequoias and took this trip for my birthday. The weather was perfect and the sunset view from Moro Rock was beautiful. The photos do not do it justice. We also hiked the General Sherman trail and the Big Trees trail which were lovely. These would be great hikes for parents with little children. Every hike, but Moro rock had restrooms that were not accessible to the public or closed. This could create some issues if you can’t find somewhere to use the restroom, and I would imagine, creates issues with littering for those that don’t clean up after themselves, which unfortunately, we did witness on some of the trails. otherwise it was a beautiful trip. It was a gorgeous day out and there are so many little hikes that you were able to do with little children if you have them.

If you want to take a fantastic walk through the woods, this is where you need to go. The views are beyond words. So many wonderful things to see. The trees and mountains, and wildlife. The experience is one that you will remember for a lifetime. It's an amazing walk, you truly will enjoy. If you have never felt small after your stroll through the tree you will. Have a picnic and take in all of the beauty.

I visited end of April, there was melting snow at the top of the mountain. It was OK to drive, but to walk to Sherman tree, a pair and waterproof boots and rain jacket would be nice to have. The roads are very well maintained, lots of pockets along the way on both sides.

This was a beautiful place to visit it was snowing when we visited & 37°. Snow chains are required install them on your vehicle before you visit to test so it's done with ease latter on site at 5000 ft or so . They do sell snow chains on site but it's good to have a set before you arrive just in case they are sold out . In the summer this will not be a concern. Call ahead certain parts of the park you may want to visit sometimes close for the winter . Be very careful where you take your pictures some of these places can be dangerous . Hope you enjoy it as much as me & my daughter did ❤

This place was amazing! Seeing the floor of clouds that stretch across the mountains when you get to an elevation of 6,000 ft is breathtaking! The Sequoia's are massive!! It was a real treat for me and my family to be able to witness. Even the drive through the mountains to get there is beautiful! I would recommend this destination to anyone who enjoys nature and beautiful landscapes.

Absolutely beautiful national park. Right now there is a lot of closures because of the fires and cold weather but they are doing the best they can to re-open parts of the park. We still enjoyed every bit we got to see regardless and will be sure to come back once things have more fully opened up again.

My 9 year old daughter saw on PBS kids about Sequoia National Park. She really wanted to visit this park and see Redwood trees. This place is a must see. It is 4 hours from LAX ( Los Angeles airport) to the park entrance. Once you enter the state park then there is another an hour drive to see the giant trees. These trees are located about at an elevation of 5000 feet. There are small trails to walk around and checkout the trees. There is also a shuttle bus that takes you to different locations where the giant trees are located. The park entrance fee is $35. The entrance pass is valid for 7 days (save your receipt if you are planning to stay around the area for multiple days). There are small restaurants and a couple of lodging places around the park. There is also wild life in the park so keep an eye for a bear or dear. We were able to see a baby dear crossing the road. Our whole experience was amazing.

If you are a tress lover, this is paradise. If you are not, Those giant will change you forever. This is something like truly does not transpire well on photos or videos or movies. It must be touched, felt, experienced. An ancestral forest so unique you will not want to leave. Summer is fantastic but if 30 years ago It was busy, today it is unimageable. There are enough traffic jam and crowd to almost forget about the trees. So I prefer going into winter. It is still busy the way summer was 30 years ago. But the place is big, the trails numerous and once done the must see oldest and tallest and largest trees, you can find path to freedom and the wild. We did not encountered bears but saw some fresh tracks. The snow adds to the fun and the natural beauty.

I loved this place, beautiful in every way and so worthy of being a national park. Things to know: 1.***Not an RV or trailer friendly area*** They tell you at the entrance that vehicles longer than 22ft are not going to make it up the mountains past a certain point. That point being the campground that's only a 10 min drive from the entrance. They told me to unhook my trailer at the dump site across the campground and leave it there while I went up the mountain and to Kings Canyon. 2. The road in Sequoia is ~curvy~ so drive carefully, they seem to take care of the road very well so that's nice. 3. Tire chains can be mandatory at any time, mainly a worry in winter months, so be prepared to buy/rent some from the small town on the way in. *They do not have a store to buy chains in the park* 4. BRING YOU CAMERA!!!! Its so beautiful here you will miss it when you leave. So make sure phones, camera batteries, etc. are charged to capture your lovely memories! 5. Have fun! And stay warm if you are traveling here in winter.

Amazing experience: the park Rangers were amazing, the drive up the mountain was beautiful and the trees were magical. When we went we were told that snow chains were required. Keep that in mind.

Great park! Not the most ideal time to visit with all the fires going on right now, but we managed to fit in 3 different light hikes into our day trip! Highly recommend checking out the Sherman Tree Trail (the largest tree in the world by volume), the Big Trees Trail, and Moro Rock Trail. All three trails are pretty easy and offer beautiful views of the park. The visitor center near the Big Trees Trail is closed but the gift shop is still open.

The visitor centers here are wonderful And they really spend time with you if you need assistance. It wasn't busy but there was a thing set up for lines... mornings people.. and you will have a blast :) I would highly recommend arriving early. People on our national park Facebook pages keep telling me that these parks are busy and i know the lodges and campgrounds are full but we have seen very few people i n the 4 national parks we have visited in the last week... mornings people :) General Sherman was amazing.. so grand, so beautiful and just a resilient beast... exceeded my expectations. Truly be careful on those roads.. i am a confident driver and i was a bit thrown by them. Bring car sick medication as my 10 yr old has not been car sick before and she got very sick on our drive from kings canyon to Sequoia... the 245 freeway is painful. The park is everything you would hope it to be..

Absolutely gorgeous and a must visit place for all National Park lovers. The giant sequoia trees are beautiful and are great to witness. Recent forest fire destroyed various places and even few giant sequoia trees but still the park is one of the best. Various short, easy and beautiful hikes are great to witness the beauty from closer proximity. Take the buses which runs within the park as the private vehicle 🚗 are not allowed everywhere. The bus will stop at each significant points and gives enough time to explore.

Absolutely gorgeous national park. We were able to explore both sequoia national park and king's canyon national park in the same day. The short walk down to the general Sherman tree was fantastic. Don't miss the short congress trail - it is beautiful

I love this place. Spent there 2 days and enjoyed every second. These trees are so amazing. The way of growing, how they survive fire. When you touch these monarchs, they are soft. This smell. Amazing. Definitely a must.

Nice big trees and nice hikes to do. Unfortunately currently the majority of the road through park is closed and some famous attractions can not be seen and this is the reason to give it 4 stars (on the border to being 3 stars). General Sherman, Sequoia Tunnel and many more are unavailable since couple of months already and the road probably won’t be fixed/re-opened until next year. I was really excited to see some of the attractions, but in the end it was not possible.

You can not ask for a more beautiful view at any other national park! This place was by Farr one of my favorite national parks of all time! The views, the smells, the animals, the people … everything was just magnificent here. I would recommend coming early, so the trails aren’t crowded and checking for closed roads! A few were closed that delayed or messed up our itinerary.

Again, another incredible natural wonder to take in and be awe inspired by. If you have the time, this is an amazing place to visit, hike and explore. Sadly much of it was damaged by fire and we learned from park rangers that 25 of the world's Giant Sequoia trees were lost to these fires.

Absolutely loved it. The hike to the General Sherman was easy, the hike back up, not so much. The trees are really big and cool, definitely one of the things you need to see before you leave this world (provided you're not immortal). No phone service within a few miles of the park, which is amazing to those with phone addictions.

The Sequoia's are so amazing! The experience of seeing the huge trees is beautiful. You have to take a trip there to visit when there is snow. Just an amazing experience! It's a great place to take your family!

The trees in Sequoia National park are even larger than the more popular Redwoods. The trees are some of the biggest on the planet. The absolute biggest tree in the park might not be available to the public due to conservation concerns. But tree that claims to be the biggest in Sequoia National is “The General Sherman!” This is amongst the largest living things ON THE EARTH.... ever! This place is purely magical you can feel the presence of the behemoth trees and the message is love.

Unbelievable. Seeing these monstrous trees up close and personal is an incredible experience. If you visit definitely do the Congress hike, and go early in the morning to enjoy peace among the trees with little to no crowds

Took the family on vacation to see California and one our our stops was Sequoia National Park. It is amazing and the trees are majestic. We went in the winter, might want to try the summer next time, The snow and ice were on the mountains which added to the beauty and the cost. The cost increased because you need to have snow chains to come into the park. If you don’t have the you have to rent then at around $100. We rented them but never used them. Go early because the park is crowded and the parking at the main attractions is limited. Man places to stop and take pictures of these 2000 year old trees. Caution it is straight up the mountain, so you won’t see the big trees until you get to 4000-5000 feet about 1 hour into the drive once in the park. If you’ve never been at high altitudes bring lots of water and maybe some Dramamine. Once we hit 7000 feet my jus started to feel sick so had to turn around. The Mountain View’s are outstanding and you could walk and take pictures all day. “Beware of Bear” Enjoy!

This place is amazing if you love nature, specially trees. Even if you don't like trees, Sequoias will blow your mind. Standing in front of these colosal trees is mesmerizing. Being able to see in person the General Sherman which is the largest tree in the world is a humbling and amazing experience. We stayed in the Branded Calf, a nice bed and breakfast and then drove to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. On the way to the core of SNP, we stopped several times to fly the drone. It took amazing pictures from above. Keep in mind that it is not allowed to fly drones in certain areas which are usually the most visited and popular ones. However, you can fly drones on other allowed areas that have giant Sequoias and have breathtaking views as well. This trip to see Sequoias (and Redwoods) was one of the top priorities to do in my bucket list. The Redwoods we saw them at Muir Woods National Monument. The Sequoias are the largest trees by volume but the Redwoods are the tallest ones.

Sequoia national park is beautiful. This is the kind of place everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime. There is a lot of hiking trails to choose from. The most popular ones such as Moro rock and General Sherman have paved paths so they are easily accessible to everyone. There is plenty of parking and a lot of wildlife. We saw a mama bear and her cubs climbing up a tree during our trip.

Hands down one of the most beautiful places you’ll ever see with your own eyes, if you’re visiting in California you have to go here, an absolute priority for any vacation or if you’re a local a great place to spend your day. Every tree, every nook and cranny of this massive beautiful forest is filled with wonder. The air is so clean and sweet it’s like breathing in candy.

Stunningly beautiful is understating the scenery here. Most of the hikes I did in the evening there wasn’t a human in sight. Just nature at its finest. Nothing enriches life and soul like the mountains and forest. I’ll be returning with my family to embark on more journeys through this magical wonder of a park. What a treasure we have in America.

I had a great experience visiting Sequoia National Park. The park is absolutely stunning, and the giant sequoia trees are truly awe-inspiring. I hiked the Grizzly Giant Loop Trail, which was a moderate hike but offered some amazing views. I also camped in the park, and the scenery was incredible. There is a large waterfall about 2 miles from the campground that is not too difficult to visit. The river next to the campground was also high with flowing water. I would definitely recommend Sequoia National Park to anyone looking for a beautiful and unforgettable outdoor experience."

Firstly, I would applaud that this national park is built and managed so well for the handicapped! Major attractions are handicap accessible. Secondly, the giant sequoia trees, the hiking trails, the black bears, the tunnel log, the meadows and Moro Rock are amazing. We had a fun time exploring the park for a full 3 days. Finally, the rangers and shuttle drivers are extremely knowledgeable and helpful! We will come back again to explore different parts of the park.

Man what a great experience. Getting away from city noise, buildings, cell phone service, it was great. Followed a river that we heard from our campground and ended up finding a cool wooden bridge (a little sketchy). Also took home a natural souvenir of a bird’s beak that was stuck into a piece of bark I miraculously found. Deer walked right through campsite one morning. Great National Park!

Beautiful park. SO worth seeing. Lots of driving up curvy mountains to get to the destination. Park rangers are very helpful. Trails we went on were paved and very accessible. Good amount of designated handicapped parking areas and lots of information along the trails to help you understand the trees.

Awesome place to visit, it’s a must see for anyone remotely interested in Botany or trees. Full of Majestic Sequoias. But it’s got a lot of driving on winding roads and lots of walking. Limited food in the park; underwhelming options in the nearest town (Three Rivers); so probably best to take your own food.

One of the most beautiful national parks that I have ever been to! Lots of breathtaking views and enormous trees that are out of this world. There will be stops where you and take pictures. Really recommend visiting “General Sherman” Tree, as it is the largest tree in the world. Hiking to General Sherman is easy (downward hike), but hiking back up to the parking lot was the tough part. The roads are narrow and saw deers crossing the road, please take care when driving. If you are driving an electric car, be sure to have enough mileage for the drive as there is only 1 Tesla destination charger (not supercharger). There is an admission fee of $35 (on 11/24/2023) that is good for 1 week. Recommend coming in early in the morning to avoid the long line of cars entering the park.

I can't think of any reasons for people to refuse coming to Sequoia national Park.😉😉😉😉 Driving through the Tunnel Log was a great experience! Imagine yourself viewing the inner body of a 1000 years old of tree. Imagine yourself exploring the secret of a tunnel which is structured by a wood log!😃😃 We were so lucky we took a sunset photo at the summit of Moro Rock Trail! It was not easy to climb up, FYI.

Amazing National Park! The giant trees are unfathomably beautiful and words cannot describe their majestic sight. The many groves of Sequoias are awesome and the General Sherman is awe inspiring. The park has ample parking early in the morning, but fills quickly later in the day. Trails are well done and give great views of the non-stop scenery. Spent two days here with the family and could have easily spent more time lying in the forest with the trees. Definitely recommend!

Went early on a weekday so it wasn't so crowded. Had a wonderful time exploring the park. Some of the sights we had to ourselves for a bit. Even saw a bear on the way into the park. The park is very well kept and all of the people we ran into were nice and welcoming. We enjoyed the cooler temperatures. We saw what we wanted in a long day of exploring but could of used a second day (2nd day we went to Kings Canyon).

Beautiful place to visit once in your life time. Makes you realize on how small you are in this fast living world. Slow down and appreciate the love ones around you, You can literally breath in fresh crisp clean air. Prepare yourself with waters & snacks because of all the hiking that takes places. Take comfortable shoes and a sweater for the evening if you plan to stay late for the clear star's in the night sky. 🌙

One of the best national parks I have ever visited. Those ginormous trees are truly breathtaking to see in person. Very well designed roads that had a lot of turnouts and every turnout had something to offer. Only thing is, like most other national parks with mountains, they also have double yellow lines, so one has to rely on a slow driver to use the turnout when there are many cars tailing them. Word of advice, if you want to avoid the crowds, start early, also you’d might get a chance to witness wildlife! Don’t miss the opportunity to view an amazing sunset from Moro Rock. Definitely worth the visit!

The peaceful national park, I would describe it in one word. The gigantic trees, small and friendly trails, Breathtaking views, Morro Rock makes it perfect. If you love to be in the nature and breathe fresh air, this is the place you should be. You can also see beautiful fall colors in this National park.

Part of the National Park system and completely worth it. Beautiful trees, landscapes, and the famous General Sherman tree. The road in between the sequoia entrance and kings canyon is closed so you’ll have to drive to the kings canyon other entrance. Well worth the visit!

My goodness! Absolutely stunning, rich history, and the trees are amazingly huge! A bit surprised that the entrance is 35, and there's no pet "allowed" on the trail. However, the rangers are understanding, and told me, "even though you carry him, next time you're here, pet's are not allowed." So, if anyone wants to bring your furry friends, leave them at home. But it's definitely worth the drive here.

  • 5/5 Erika G. 9 months ago on Google
Nothing that I say about this forest does enough justice. You simply gotta experience the majestic trees yourself to truly appreciate. We stayed at Wuksachi Lodge, which was very nice and on the priciest side but it was worth it. Internet connection was super slow but rare to find in the area, so we were fortunate. I was able to communicate with family. I recommend two days if you want to take the time to hike a few trails. You can definitely go around in a day if you get there early but if you don't want to rush, spend the extra day.

The world's largest tree can be found here. Sequoia National Park is a gem of the Sierra Nevada range. The views are phenomenal. Visitors can transition between the foothills, Forrest, canyon, and high Sierra exo system. Each offering a huge diversity of plant and animal life. Weather in the Sierra can change suddenly so bring food, water, and appropriate gear depending on the time of year: snowstorm, heat waves, chilling winds, etc.

  • 5/5 Julie G. 9 months ago on Google
Definitely a place to visit with family or friends, peaceful, lot of different hiking trails, better to go with a guide who would help you to save time, better drive there early cuz the line entry can be long. The parking is little tedious so used the bus rides if posible or share ride with friends. Take care of your pet and kids and keep the park clean, don’t forget your sun protection, mosquito repellent and a lot of water. Be safe, be patient and enjoy your trip 🤗
