Absolutely one of our favorite spots to stop! No day fee at a few pullout spots along the road. The campground area has one but worth it for the swimming area! I'll never get over how massive these trees are and can only imagine the root systems. This spot had a 1 mile loop on flat and easy ground.

How anyone can rate this place less than 5 is beyond me. It’s like being in a forested cathedral, just unbelievable. Highly recommend the Fern Canyon hike. Definitely head up to redwood park and see the Grove of the Titans. Get out a thesaurus: amazing, spectacular, phenomenal, unbelievable…

Jedediah Smith Redwoods State and National Park is so beautiful. It is my favorite of all the places to see the coastal redwoods of California. The redwood forest absolutely magnificient. It is so green. With moss growing in shady areas and the ferns at the of the redwwods, it looks to perfect to be real. My son said that he always feels to God whenver we go visit the redwoods. Together Jedediah Smith, Del Norte Coast and Prarie Creek Redwood State Parks make up Redwood National Park.

An absolutely wonderful place to visit with the family! My visit was with a group of adults but I wish I had my littles ones with me that day. The Redwoods are breathtaking and with such a short hike, they would have loved to explore all the nooks and crannies of the place. There’s access to a waterway to enjoy. Small creeks and larger river access is there. Everyone around us seemed to be just as happy to explore the grounds. It’s a gem to visit!

I took so many photos, we were there almost all day. We went on the trails and drove the 6 miles on Howland Hill Road, you’ll be on a glorious back road through lovely Redwoods. The trees are huge. This can be a bit rough but not with potholes or anything (I have been on allot worse. You don’t want to take a vehicle over 21 feet. There is trees very close together. The road is only made to drive one vehicle so you must move over when another vehicle approaches. Bring a lunch, hiking shoes and have a great time. No dogs allowed on all trails they do allow on some: so be prepared.

We traveled from Oregon down to California stopping along all the redwoods we could, this was the first park we visited, and it was by far the best one. Perfectly quiet, not overly crowded or touristy. This park is the perfect old growth forest, purely serene and beautiful.

Wow! What an amazing forest! I was there at the beginning of January and everything was so green and lush! I am hooked and will be going back! God sure made us a beautiful playground!! Birds were singing, very few people, hiked on a great trail for about 8 miles, and no rain. Definitely drive thru if you are unable to hike!

The staff was super friendly, The camp site was clean and well kept, the redwoods were absolutely stunning, and lots of hikes of all levels. The handicap site was right next to the bathroom, well laid out. I can't wait to go back!

27 years later and I’m finally visiting the redwoods. It brought goosebumps to see how large these redwood giants are. The beauty here does not compare to anything I’ve seen in my life. The best part about it was how me and my boyfriend were the only ones on a trail and we did not see a soul. It allowed us to enjoy our time here more since it was not busy.

The water and scenery were breathtaking. It was serene and very wide open. I loved the small beach which I was not expecting but it was great for the kiddos to play in. There are a lot of rocks on one side of the water so we were careful walking on them. A great spot to stop and picnic for lunch!

This park is home to some amazing trees! Walking among these ancient giants makes you feel small and temporary. The dense forest is a joy to walk through, exploring not only the large and small trees, but also creeks that wind through the forest and create their own beauty as well. The well maintained trails allow you to explore without too much effort and is an easy walk from the parking for families and children. Prepare to be awed by the majesty of the Jedediah Smith Redwoods Park - it’s unforgettable!

Just amazing! The wonder of Mother Nature! Please leave your dogs home or in the car because while these trees are majestic, they also need protecting. (And dogs aren’t allowed…ahem…don’t be those people!) Go and see these before another fire threatens them.

This is an exceptional park. This is easily accessible and walkable. Super trails here and amazing Redwoods. I think everyone owes it to themselves to visit this amazing park.

This place is so amazing. We stayed at the campground and it was a very awe-inspiring place. The rangers were all very knowledgeable and helpful, one even told us about where to see the Salmon Spawning (the bridge on Walker Road) and that was probably one of the coolest things we saw on our trip!

Majestic! Nature is absolutely amazing. Trees that are so huge that everything else seems so small. Some are over 2,000 years old and the base more than 20 feet around. The Smith River follows the path of the trees. Amazing! Highly recommend.

So beautiful. Every time we visit, it's like the first time all over again. I adore wandering the trails; such a magical place. Every time we visit, we don't ever want to leave! 🥰😍

The redwoods were amazing! The vegetation in the forest was very large like the trees! It was cool in the forest. Recommend taking a jacket. It was so quiet in this forest.

What an awesome time camping and hiking amongst the awe inspiring Redwoods! The Grove of the Titans was something mighty special and our time camping in the Jedidiah Smith campground was amazing...the clean bathrooms and showers were also very much appreciated! I highly recommend spending some time amongst these beautiful and gentle giants.

This was my first experience with the redwoods (5 years ago) and my oldest son's first time in a redwood forest (November 2022). For me, this forest is incredibly awesome. It includes 9,500 acres of forest with 7% of the world's old growth redwoods. The park is a watershed for the Smith River, where the state record steelhead rainbow trout was caught (over 27 pounds). On my first visit there, I was blown away by these majestic trees. The forest was like nothing I'd ever seen before, and I've hiked through forests in several states, in Canada, and in Southern France. The Jedediah Smith Redwoods Park inspired me like no other place I've experienced.

One of the more crowded woodland destinations for a good reason. It offers dense giant redwoods, stretches of river beach with interesting stones and refreshing water to play in, and relatively safe places to park while you go explore. There is a plethora of assorted fungi during the cool season. The air smells clean and camphoraceous. If you've never been, definitely consider stopping at this signature spot.

👍👍 What a beautiful place. Super easy hike that's 95% flat with the remaining 5% being pretty much flat. You could take your kids, wheelchair-reliant friends and family, and puppers here (pick up their poop, friends and family included). Just a teaser of the majesty of the redwoods (check out Boysco...

👍 The start of this trailhead is a great location to take a dip and swim with the family. There is a rope swing under the bridge with many areas to set up camp for the day. The water is crystal blue!
