Interesting 🧐 plece beautiful 🤩 But in that place you should be careful about yourself, because a lot of poor people can rob your things, bag, money, phone and so on… Do not trust no one in that place or anywhere else in Barcelona, because you can’t imagine everything will happen from pickpockets you should be smart and wake up.

This place is nice, but the crowds can be overwhelming. I believe it has the potential to be even better when it's not as crowded, allowing for a more peaceful and enjoyable experience.

Very nice place. Thousands of pigeon and nice environment. You can feed the pigeon and they come and sit on hand. You can spend a lot of here. Kids love this place due to birds and they can play with them. And birds are not harmfull. If you are in Barcelona must visit this place. A lot of good restaurants around here you can enjoy it and many small shopping center. Football club Barcelona merchandise shop also here. Its a perfect place. Must visit here. I love it

Large paved public walking area bordered by statues and small gardens of greenery. It's also situated at one end of the famous and very popular with tourists La Rambla. There's not a lot to do here or to specifically come for, except look at the surrounding statues and buildings, sit on a park bench and watch the day go by or run around the masses of pigeons (which kids seem to love). Thus you may just pass through to get to another attraction or place to eat or shop (plenty nearby). It's not as grand as some other European city town squares and unlike many of the nice squares in Barcelona there doesn't seem to be any other buildings of note or restaurants and cafes to come for.

A grand square with lovely water and floral feature to the west side. This square has much history associated with from peaceful protests to revolutions rising, very worthy of a visit

Popular spot in Barcelona. You can catch the airport express bus from around this area. You can walk this area onto other popular holiday hot spots. There's a good transport link with tickets for bus, Metro, tram and trains. Always look at for the metro passes expecially for family, if you intend travelling by public transport.

It is beautiful to take pics. If you have afraid from pigeons there is the worst place to go because there are A LOT of them there. It could be called as Pigeon's square. Hahahha but it is good

The greatest plaza in the whole Barcelona! It is very big and round and surrounded by fountains. Most of the time Placa de Catalunya is full of pigeons. It is pretty interesting and the kids love it. The square is made of unique tiles which are really smooth. However, it isn't that impressive compared to the other famous sights in Barcelona. Overall, a pretty overrated place which I would recommend visiting just because it's their biggest plaza.

It's a plaza. There are pigeons and some fountains. Honestly nothing special. The best thing is that all of the big shopping streets connect at this plaza. There are also stops for the Barcelona Tour buses and ticket offices which makes it mainly a convenient place to go, not necessarily beautiful or interesting.

This is very iconic and beautiful landmark that you must visit if you are staying in Barcelona. Located in the heart of the city, it is the perfect place to find local restaurants, bars, coffee shops, fancy shops, art and historic buildings. Walking along these streets you can learn about the Spanish culture, language and architecture. Very enjoyable. You can also buy tickets for a city bus tour from here that will take you around other interesting areas in the city. My only recommendation is to be careful with your purse, bags or backpack. Usually, this is a very crowded area, and you could be victim of a pick pocket. Better be safe than sorry. Otherwise, it is a wonderful place.

Barcelona's most central area and a favourite meeting place for locals and visitors as described by my friends..My first ever experience of feeding pigeons so close. The plaza square is very popular and you can just sit to those benches around the plaza and watch those birds flocks and people interacting to each other.(taking photos or feeding them ) In the square, you'll find pavement stones arranged in the shape of a star, which is believed to mark the center of the Catalonian capital. Some old structrures and buildings which has a historical meanings. I've noticed the long que for the hop in hop off tour bus if you want sightseeing tour in Barcelona ,less walking ,just sit and enjoy the ride and view especially when you dont have enough time to roam around the city.

A nice/big place in the heart of Barcelona. It's very crowded, so if you don't like people, it's best to avoid this place. From here you have the opportunity to reach and explore all parts of the city using public transport.

Great tourist spot in Barcelona. Very crowded and vibrant. It is a nice place to shop and wonder around. You can also walk to the beach. There was a good vibe and many people. It was great. I recommend this place.

Shopping, fast food, cafes, and atmosphere. This is the most iconic square in Barcelona (together with Plaça Espanya). Connects directly with Las Ramblas and the broad, lush boulevards of Rambla Catalunya and Passeig de Gracia. The square itself is home to hoards of pigeons, and occasionally hosts an event or a festival, but mostly serves a decorative function. You’ll find all the major clothing brands here, as well as a Fnac and El Corte Inglés, an Apple Store, a Hard Rock Cafe, and various street vendors of imitation purses and sneakers. There is also a metro station, an FGC (ferrocarriles) and a train (Rodalies) station. This place is well connected, needless to say. Avoid if you don’t like busy places, and watch out for your stuff! Pickpockets abound and tourists are easy targets. Don’t let your valuables out of your sight for a second.

Big square in central Barcelona, with fountains , monuments and big space in the centre. Lots of pigeons is often there so is great fun for everyone. Around the Pl. Catalunya you will find lots of shops restaurants and hotels. There is also underground exit/entrance and many different bus lines are stopping there. Very close to old town of Barcelona.

I found this as the most happening spot in Barcelona. Lots of tourists, businesses, shops, buses to airport, branded stores, lots and lots of pigeons and so much more. It would be fun to even simply sit or move around. With a pleasant weather, it would make things even more fun.

It is a great known touristic place with so much history, It is really well placed at the center of the city (kind of). I am not particularly a fan of crowds, I do not like being trapped in the middle of so many people and doves. If you are okay with that, then fine cause that is exactly what you will find here.

This place was great center of barcelona with all the bus stops and restaurants. I came here in the morning after arriving to Barcelona. With so many pigeons in the area it was a great vibe watching them fly by and eat the food given by the people. I have never seen so many pigeons concentrated in one area. Looking around you can see the beautiful architecture of Barcelona.

Nice place to visit as a tourist and also as a citizen, full of shops, restaurants and easy access to public transport no matter where is your next destination.

  • 4/5 Andrew P. 4 years ago on Google
It's a nice place. But there is a paradise for pigeons. Benches are almost always full. There is a bus stop. When you need enough to get back to the airport. The downside is that there is via night to the morning, though who wanders. And they make a mess. For example, a black man has chips. They fall from his mouth down on the pavement, on the road or on the bench. what a shame that place.

Likely the most important plaza of Barcelona, often hosting outdoor social entertainment and amusement for the kiddies. The tree lined plaza is grand and spacious like most of this beautiful, well architected city.

It's a very beautiful city full of historical buildings You can find many buildings from old centuries which are getting restored now and of course all this looks more festive when you visit in the Christmas holiday period. Ask me and I ll tell you where to go when you gonna travel 😉

The main square of Barcelona. It’s a must to visit, walk around, take some pictures, do some shopping and eat some good food in near by restaurants.

The place is full of pegions flying around. It has many famous restaurants around it. The La Rambla street starts from here. Nice place for children and adults, to sit and relax. The place has fountains. Preferred time to visit is during night.

Lovely public area in the centre of Barcelona right between the two main shopping streets of La Rambla and Passeig De Gracia. Great place to people watch and of course mix in with the pigeons. Fully paved with beautiful fountains and a little greenery.

A bit to crowded fot my taste, but splendid. An excellent starting point to move around the city

  • 4/5 Juergen B. 2 years ago on Google
The central hub from which you can reach a lot of sightseeing spots just by walking, so a good point to start. The place itself has probably two highlights, the fountains and the thousands of doves which pretty much cover the central circle.

Very busy place, could be much better, Nice fountains and architecture. But millions of pidgeons, ( not joking)

  • 3/5 Alex T. 2 years ago on Google
Beautiful fountains and plaza, but the people dressed like clowns ripping people off deter tourists from enjoying the views. I was there briefly after I started getting harassed by these people. Aside from that, it makes for good memories pictures!

Nice place to visit, but be aware of people with white painted face when taking your photos. They put themselves in front of your camera and won’t let you go unless you pay them. They wear good cloths and pretending to be hungry.

The square where the heart of Barcelona beats. You can reach almost anywhere from here. The square is quite large and hosts activities from time to time. The fountains and trees provide a little cooling opportunity for those who are tired of walking. There are various places to eat and shop around. Due to its central location, transportation is very easy and you can explore the places around by walking and get lost in the streets.

Beautiful square in the middle of the city. Everything is close by, good connections with trains and other types of transport (buses to/from airport, regional trains, etc). It really feels like it's a center of everything. I love it.

An expansive city plaza in Barcelona, Placa de Catalunya, is a great place to people watch, a tourist trap, and home to one of the official tourist offices all in one. A beautiful plaza it is worth a walk through, especially if you are visiting the official tourist site at the southeast corner. But, as with any urban high traffic areas, be vigilant of hustlers. In spite of that caveat, definitely visit the plaza.

Expansive area with a lot of steps. Fly by night merchants had junky merchandise spread on sheets blocking our way. They must have gotten a warning because all of a sudden they wrapped up their sheets and went running into the hills!

It is a center place of Barcelona. 1. There is a center place where I found so many pigeons and kids just love it. That is a very good bribe. 2. The hop on hop off bus center is there. Actually they have two booths by two different companies be smart on choice. 3. Lifts are very small and slow , kind of old time and not well maintained. 4. The city is not far from this point u can roam at many places on foot rather hop on hop off. Like port, aquarium, la ramla, casa batllo, Casa Milá (La Pedrera) ,old city ,restaurants, 5. Shopping is a good choice there you will get a nice variety. 6. It’s connects to every corner of the city. But itself it is not well connected. 7. People are playing music equipments, presenting art. 8. There are 15 shops which are allocated to the artists only for 15 days . Then artist changes . So u can try your luck.

It would be much better if it was not under construction. Nothing much to see, but it is a starting point for La Rambla street. Don't miss a walk down to the Columbus monument. Many shops and nice restaurants.

What a spectacular place to sit down and feed the pigeons. Felt like I was in a movie from the 1900’s with all the buildings and people around me. A must see if you’re in Barcelona, had a wonderful time!

Just great to get away from the touristy part of spain to just see the Catalonia lifestyle. Was looking for the hop off and on tour bus but there are no clear marking as to where to hop on this bus. We did see it i tried to wave it down to no avail this was the only downside to the day. The plaza it's is a lovely strip and lots of shopping to be had. You can get to the culture site if you're up for hilly walks in 30° heat, so bring water.

A gigantic and quite jaw-dropping plaça in the middle of the city, full of statues, benches to sit on and admire all the people and the huge buildings around it. Kids were playing everywhere, having fun and in general a happy and relaxing place.

It is located in the heart of the city and could me a good meeting point closed to most of the shopping center, restaurant, and tourist attractions. There will be pigeons around the square, too.

This is an iconic and beautiful landmark that you must visit Located in the heart of the city, it is the perfect place to find local restaurants, bars, coffee shops, fancy shops, art and historic buildings. You can buy tickets for a city bus tour from here that will take you around other interesting areas in the city.

One of the Barcelona landmarks, it’s surrounded by so many restaurants, hotels, cafes, shops and everything you need. There are bus stops for the Barcelona sightseeing buses, and also if you’re leaving to the airport you can take a bus from here. This landmark point also regularly/normally for meeting point or starting point for the tourist guided from all around the world. BUT, you must be extra careful, always have your belongings in your sight perimeter, there are many robbers and often there are beggars talking to you rudely asking for money. I experienced it by myself when I drop off from A1 airport bus 3am in the morning.

Wonderful place to shop! Be sure to go down the side streets for better deals and awesome pizza and food. They als9 have amazing street performers.

They had food stands and a live band playing on Saturday night. The music was great! The crowd was very orderly and lots of police around to make sure there's no trouble. I didn't eat anything but the food looked really good, all kinds of tapas and alcohol. It's a place to be!!!

Beautiful place, endless numbers of pigeons . Here are two lines hop on hop of city bus tour connect. Each tour takes approximately 2 hrs. In between, consider amazing Hard Rock cafe.

Catalan Square, very beautiful, with lots of benches, an ideal place to rest after strenuous walks. My starting point for all sights. Casa Batllo is only a 15-minute walk away, as is Casa Mila. Sagrada Familia 35 minutes walk. Bus 24 can take you to Park Güell. The Gothic Quarter a few minutes away. And on top of all that, surrounded by boutiques, perfect for shopping! 😁

We went here on a weekday and there wasn't a lot of people. It's a home of hundreds of doves. It's also very easy to go here from bus to trains. It's also a great meet up place if you are going to the center. There's a lot of restaurants and shops around the plaza. And it's walking distance to La Rambla and Passeige de Gràcia.

I nice central Plaza you should visit. 4 stars just for the annoyance of having construction crews working inside the Plaza all day long.... But I guess they have to at some point during the year

The Plaza is extra lively during the Christmas 🎄 season. You have to love all the lights and wonderfully cheerful locals. There are so many shops! All your favorites are nearby. There are so many restaurants too.

Xmas day🎄. It is hard for me to write a bad review but... Very disappointed!!! 😔This is the heart of Barcelona!!! They might had performances b4 Xmas but on Xmas day, but the most important day of these Holidays (25th of December), the square was such a bad vibe and dull. My village up on the mountains has better atmosphere then Barcelona!!!! 👎

Easily accessible by S/U train, but overcrowded and standing room during the day. Central square with many restaurants and options. Hard Rock Cafe was a must because of the grandchildren. No complaints.🤗
