Had a fantastic dinner here last night. The food is extraordinary with one of the best menus I've seen. I wanted to order about ten things. The layout of the building is fascinating with loads of framed photos, pots and pans and old wine bottles everywhere. Loved it. Really nice staff too. Prices are a little high and the location is very tricky but everything else is so good it more than makes up for it. I will be back. ps - the Bolognese veal cutlet is MASSIVE, you've been warned.

This has to be hands down one of the best restaurants I've been at in Italy. Wholeheartedly recommend. The food and wine are excellent. The service is a bit slow but that might be because they are quite busy especially in the evenings. All of the staff, however, are extremely friendly and happy to help with anything you might need. I recommend asking for wine recommendations. They have a "wine guy" and he's good. Prices are a bit higher than the usual you get around Bologna - totally worth it though.

If we had a chance to give zero stars, we would’ve done that! The moment we entered to the restaurant, we really liked the ambiance but the service overall was horrible. First, they gave us italian menu and we thought maybe they don’t have an english menu, which is totally fine but while we were struggling, we asked if they had an English menu, and they brought English menu after 10 minutes! They asked if we want still or sparkling water, even though we explicitly said still they brought sparkling water. After 30 mins, we managed to give our order and started receiving our food. With the food, we asked for additional stuff such as salt, cheese etc. NOTHING came! Also we explicitly asked for a medium-well cooked meat which came rare. After certain period of time, all waiters disappeared and we started waiting. After 15 mins or so they came to take our empty dishes and we asked for dessert menu. We ordered our dessert and coffee. Dessert came and we had to wait for 15 mins for our coffee… To top it off, after all this, they made us wait for 35 mins after we asked for the check for 3 times and eventually, we went to the cashier ourselves to pay and get out of there. Overall, the food was ok but service was horrible. If I knew I would not have not traveled for almost 45 mins one-way to try this restaurant.

Wonderful traditional restaurant perfectly located on the crossroads of Modena & Bologna in a quaint small village. Food and service were exceptional ! Tortellini con panna was exceptional as was the grilled lamb chops & the Lambrusco! Highly recommend on a trip through this magnificently food rich region where every detail is outstanding.

Drove 200km to get there and it exceeded our expectations. Both tortellini in broth & in cream were amazing, loved lasagna, veal cotolleta, desserts & recommended wine. Amazing staff, can't recommend this enough.

Excellent food and service!!! The anchovies and steak were a highlight for me, but my husband also loved the tortellini in parmesan cream. My only wish is that I had come hungrier, but too many delicious things to eat in Italy!

Food was incredible, the place is very charming, but the absolute highlight was how nice people were and how effective they were on suggesting food and wine. Thank you so much for the experience.

It's probably one of the best Italian trattoria. The family runs the restaurant with passion and smile. It is a real moment of joy to eat there. The chef is from Abruzzo and specialises in meat and pasta. They have literally invented the "cappelletti alla panna d'affioramento," which is one of the best fresh pasta I've ever eaten.

Difficult to review as I had a bit of a weird experience dining at Osteria del Mirasole. I went out of my way to visit and was almost entirely ignored during my lunch. Apparently they had more important guests than this solo traveller. I had a nice but short chat with my waiter about natural Lambrusco wines and he would take care of me. He poured me one glass (it was very good), and forgot about me the other two times I asked for another. Since I was sitting there for quite a while, a friendly lady took over and waited on me with very nice recommendations. The dishes were quite good. I had the tortellini in Mirasole cream, as everyone does (it's okay), the grilled veal steak with zucchini fritters (delicious) and creme caramel (very good). Then the nice lady was gone and a third waiter took her place to wait on me (I signaled him because I was waiting for quite a while again between my secondi and dessert). I don't know what happened here, but despite the kind staff, the actual service was certainly not up to standards. Especially not for an establishment with such accolades. Next time, I will bring a date, or some friends. Hope that helps.

Royal cow neck is perfectly done, meat ragu delitious, chocolate cake very soft.

Simply spectacular, every bite was beyond expectation. The wine also insanely delicious and well priced. We also rented and stayed in one of the upstairs apartments. Absolute pleasure and would stay again and again. Gratzie Mille!

The best dinner we had in Emilia-Romagna. Lovely service, very nice outdoor location and every dish was just wonderful. From the pasta to the outstanding steak. Reasonable priced for the quality.

If you take pleasure in good food, you cannot miss this stop. The tortellini in cream are the essence of slow food itself: the cream is obtained by letting the fat of the milk separate naturally overnight and then collected, the pasta is home maid and consistent at the bite, then to leave room to the sapidity of the filling, all brought together with perfect harmony. I'll not describe every part of the menu, but all ingredients are top notch and the preparations are the best expression of local tradition. Let Anna, the very gracious host, suggest wines for your choice, you won't regret it! PS: The grill is in the room, you can get sat in front of it and admire the cooking of your own meal. And they have two very nice rooms, you can spend the night just above the restaurant!

This place is worth the hype. I found this via Eric Wareheim‘s Instagram (Tim and Eric). I trust his mouth as I do his comedic genius. Anywho, back to the food, everything about this place exceeded expectations. The people who served us were divine. Passionate, friendly and warm. The food was incredible. Go here, call em up, get a reservation, eat all the things. Live a happy life.
