Hell of climb to get there but the view of the city from on top is so amazing...definitely worth it

Beautiful Portuguese town with a lovely central square where you can get food and drinks.

The name "Wall" would be more correct, because apart from a tower and part of the castle wall, little remains of the former Templar Castle of Castelo Branco. However, don't let that stop you from visiting this place, because it has simply amazing views

Beautiful place with great views

It is the remaining of a medieval castle built in the 12th century built by the orders of King Afonso II. However, basically not much thing is remained from the castle just a line of walls between two towers. You can enjoy a nice view and silence there. There is also the Church of Santa Maria do Castelo inside the castle area.

Best aerial panorama of the town. It remains little of the castle itself. If you want to know more medieval castles i can help.

It's nothing really WOW. Just the ruins of the castle-the walls and one tower. Pretty dangerous when you go up. Nice view for the city even on the rainy day like when we visited.

WE Likes the City, butbzhe Kids didn't Like the Castle top much. There are better Options

Besides a tower and part of the castle wall not much is left of the former Templar Castle of Castelo Branco. Nevertheless don't let this stop you from visiting this place because you're rewarded with views which are simply amazing. Especially to the Southeast where you can see a conical hill topped with the Ermida de São Martinho (what looks like a tower is actually an obelisk/ geodesic marker). Maybe have a closer look to the watchtower itself and pay some respect to the effort of turning massive granite rocks into a wall some 800 years ago.

The castel itself is just ruins...the view is amazing.

What is left of the Castelo provides excellent views below...Not a bad way to spend the morning while exploring the town...Resident Cowboy and supporter of the economy of Portugal since 2016!

Very nice view of the city (for free) and further from atop the castle. Worth it when in Castelo Branco!

Not much left of the old castle but at least "new" churches and a beautiful garden is available. The view of the city is also nice.

Great view of Castelo Branco City and feels like a great place to sit and read or write.

Beautiful town to visit. Clean,well looked after. Local produced wine,cheese and all sorts of goods also crafts. Very friendly locals. Charming town. Must visit and see.
