Pukiki is much more than a tiki bar; it is a tropical sanctuary nestled within the heart of Madeira Island, Portugal. A hidden gem in its own right, this bar has managed to grasp the true essence of what it means to be a tiki bar and takes its patrons on an immersive journey of flavors, ambiance, and good times. It is an ideal location that radiates a sense of love, warmth, and commitment to customer experience that is unparalleled. Step into Pukiki, and you are immediately met with a festive, relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel as though you've been teleported straight to a Hawaiian beach. The decor is authentic and meticulously detailed, showcasing the bar's commitment to staying true to tiki culture. The enchanting mix of bamboo, carvings, tropical plants, and softly glowing tiki torches immediately set the mood for a memorable night. The drink selection at Pukiki is nothing short of stunning. Each cocktail, whether alcoholic or virgin, is a work of art, both in taste and presentation. Classics such as the Mai Tai and Zombie are crafted to perfection, serving a harmonious blend of bold, complex flavors. The option of savoring local rums adds another layer of sophistication to the drink experience, reflecting the bar's commitment to supporting local producers and introducing patrons to the unique tastes of Madeira. For those seeking non-alcoholic delights, Pukiki doesn't disappoint. The impressive array of virgin options is equally creative and exciting. Each drink is a cocktail masterpiece that caters to the palate of every guest, regardless of their beverage preferences. What sets Pukiki apart is not just its cocktails, but the people behind the bar. The owners - Carla and Martin - with their infectious smiles and unwavering dedication, make every visit feel like a homecoming. They genuinely adore what they do, and this love permeates every aspect of the bar. From the attentive service to the meticulous preparation of your drinks, they ensure that your time at Pukiki is one filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories. And the roof terrace has a view to a kill! The icing on the cake is the bar's beloved cat, Mai Tai. As the living symbol of Pukiki, Mai Tai is as much a part of the bar's charm as the delightful drinks and the warm-hearted owners. Majestically strutting around the bar, Mai Tai adds an additional dash of personality to this already character-rich location. In conclusion, Pukiki is a cocktail paradise, a tropical escape right in the heart of Madeira. Every aspect of the place, from the delectable drinks to the charming cat, reflects a deep love and commitment that make Pukiki truly stand out. This isn't just a bar; it's a vibrant, joyous community where everyone is welcome, and every visit feels like a celebration. Be it the calming sea breezes of Madeira or the enchanting world of tiki culture you wish to experience, Pukiki is the destination that offers it all.

This is one of the best things we have done on Madeira. This is a must to do. Very authentic and very good. The service is on point and the cocktails were brilliant. Very tasty and smooth and flavoursome. Having been to Hawaii I can honestly say I felt like I was in Hawaii on the European Hawaii island of Madeira. The views from the rooftop are brilliant and the decor is on point and not tacky. Well done. Would come back here again if we were staying longer.

Cocktails were amazing, visually too! We loved the chilled atmosphere here and can't thank Carla and Martin (and Mai-Tai😸) enough for their kindness and making us feel so welcome. We would definitely recommend a trip down to Pukiki but would advise that you plan your return ahead of time, this is so you don't end up stranded like we almost did due to the limited amount of taxi's🫣 Thank you so much for having us! Great place for a cocktail. Interesting bar lovingly restored after being derelict. Great service with a smile and eclectic range of rum based cocktails really well presented. Good atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I had an absolutely fantastic time at Pukiki, the tiki cocktail bar in Madeira! The cocktails were not only delicious but also creatively crafted, adding a unique twist to classic favorites. The atmosphere was simply enchanting, with a breathtaking view of the sea that heightened the entire experience. The warm and welcoming greeting from the owners made me feel like a valued guest. I was also charmed by the interactive touch of a world map with pins, where guests mark their origins; my wife and I proudly added the first pins from Baku, Azerbaijan! Pukiki is undoubtedly a must-visit for anyone looking for a delightful blend of amazing drinks, stunning scenery, and exceptional hospitality. I can't wait to return and savor those fantastic cocktails again!

We loved this place so much, we went there twice while we visited Madeira. You can tell the owners are really passionate about what they do, it shows in their service, the quality of their drinks and the atmosphere. I also highly recommend doing the Madeira rum tasting if you can. Madeira rum is super unique and you probably won't ever have a chance to try it anywhere else, with rums from several producers side by side. They also list local taxi services on their website if you drink one too many 😉.

Really viby and relaxing place. Beautiful view from the terrace. I do recommend it for everyone who likes rum and to trying different tastes. Portions of roasted corn comes with every drink which is a nice bonus. Also wicker chairs are comfy and fits to the aesthetic. Cocktails comes in beautiful glasses all different shapes and are decorated just like on the picture. It's almost too beautiful to drink 🤯🤩. Be careful some of them are really strong 🥴🍹

Great cocktail bar in calehta area. Hawaï feeling in Madeira. We tried a few of the cocktails and were amazed by the quality. Super friendly service, very much client oriented. We will come back in the next days...

Family-run business, the cocktails are top-notch, and so is the service (the waitress is one of the owners). The atmosphere of this bar is the best in all of Madeira, every single detail is there to make you feel like in Hawaii (even the cat's bed)! If you're in the area, you have to stop by. I have rarely seen people that have put that much effort into making their dream a reality, which makes this bar so special!

Amazing place to enjoy an easygoing island atmosphere and delicious cocktails. The owners made me feel very welcome and shared fascinating stories about the history of both the building and two islands far apart but similar in some ways. Make sure to pop by on your travels around Madeira!
