beware of the ten euro rip off when this site is really worth only three €uros as it is charged only when purchased as a combined ticket with the valley of the temples & museum together - the combined ticket option should be the only option mandatory since the two obviously go together and at every other historic site the museum is combined with the archaeological park outside. furthermore if you mistakenly purchased one and not the other, then they are unable to exchange to combined the ticket but instead charge you five extra euros as a result. finally the site is substandard when compared to that of the same archaeological park museums in marsala & in selinute. In short it would be best to skip agrigento all together as a dusty old tourist trap that can be better seen from outside the gates on the roadways surrounding the valley of the temples; and instead head straight to segesta - which is the only site that combines the most complete temple in sicily plus an odeon amphitheater that still functions - all at a third of the price of what you pay in agrigento's valley of the temples or taormina greek theatre. for segesta - the best place to stay is in san vito lo capo or castellammare del golfo and visit riserva naturale dello zingaro - that packs a more powerful punch than anything you're find on the south coast of sicily

Beautiful experience. Walking up the mountain with all these ancient ruins besides was a historical treat. There needs to be walking involved to get to the temple at the very top, but it was so very worth it. The gift shop at the bottom had a variety of souvenirs like magnets, postcards or even children's toys, all at a fair price. Wonderful experience, unforgettable. This place must be preserved!

The Temple of Juno is truly awe-inspiring, serving as the first striking landmark upon entering the expansive park. The park itself is vast, adorned with impressive ancient ruins and magnificent views of the valleys.

We toured the valley of the temples with a guide. Sicily is rich in history. It was very interesting to hear how each conqueror changed the landscape.

What's not to like. Beautiful ancient columns in a very picturesque landscape with almond and olive trees all around. Super hot so go when it isn't the hottest part of the day.

A lot to see. Very pretty and with a youth discount. A very nice café for a quick bite. We went at night and it was still beautiful. Be ready to walk lots though!

I visited the national park 'Valley of the Temples' near Agrigento on a Saturday in July. I arrived around 10:30am and there were no lines for tickets at that time. It was a hot day, probably mid-90's. I had prearranged an electric scooter tour of the park. Most visitors walked the park, either on their own or in guided tour groups. Being on a scooter was a great way to get around on a hot day.

One of the main attractions of Sicily. A must experience if you are in the area. Make sure you allow yourself a lot of time as you will need a minimum of 4+ hours. Consider the gardens as they are fascinating, full of fruit trees and other wonders. Since 1997, the entire area has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is the largest archaeological park in Europe and the Mediterranean basin. The Valley includes remains of seven temples.

Ticket- 13 euro for adults. Time spent there -about two hours. We walked about 3km viewing the park. There is a bar where you can buy snacks and drinks. Very nice place to visit. Relaxing and amazing.

Very nice, very sunny with a few shady benches in the middle of the path. At the paid parking lot, moderate price, you can form carpools with others and for little money can be driven to the entrance. So the alternative is a 20 minute long way uphill.

The Valley of the Temples in Agrigento houses a magnificent historical temple that has stood the test of time. It is an ancient Greek temple that was constructed in the 5th century BCE and is remarkably preserved to this day. The temple was dedicated to Hera, the Greek goddess who was known as Juno in Roman mythology, and it is an impressive representation of Doric architecture. Visitors are drawn to this site to admire its rich history and pay homage to this mythological deity.

The closest to the park entrance (on this side), this temple is the first glimpse into the amazing trip through history you’re about to undertake! There’s a slight climb to the top, but you can take either the stairs or a long ramp. Either way is not strenuous to even “mature” people (such as myself). The hill top view alone is worth the walk! You can see all the other temples from here and down to the sea… absolutely lovely!

"You don't need to go to Athens to feel the ancient Greek culture." This is the evaluation of later travelers. The Valley of the Temples is a hill 2 kilometers south of Agrigento, Sicily, Italy. Strange to say, although it is named after "Valley", it is indeed a hill with a dangerous terrain. On one side, you can overlook the urban area of Agrigento, and on the other hand, you can sit on the green land of the valley, and your vision is very broad. The red ruins of ancient Greek temples are arranged on the top of the hill, which are full of momentum and extraordinary. Although they have been destroyed by natural disasters, wars and Christians, they are still relatively intact. In 1997, the Valley of the Temples was included in the "World Heritage List" by UNESCO under the name of "Agrigento Archaeological Zone".

Beautiful place! The entrance is hard to find, that can be improved. But the place itself is magical. It is easy to walk along all the historical sights. Be aware to use sunscreen and wear a hat as it can be very hot and there is little to no shadow during the day.

2 stars Positive points - really beautiful - still well maintained Negative points - we bought online tickets , after reading that ticket sale is very chaotic. Also knowing it’s extremely hot. This should have saved us and let us entered smoothly. WRONG !! No , they still require us to exchange online for paper tickets wherefore you need to queue. This makes no sense and as soon a employee noticed , he let us know that we have priority. But no one of the cashiers cares and just continue do their sales. At first they shouldn’t have asked us to exchange as it’s already foreseen of a qr code. Also where is the benefit of buying the ticket in advance if a paper ticket is required. Makes no sense at all. There wasn’t a counter for in advance bought tickets. - inside you are able to find 3EUR one way car services , the staff sits and never give a go. -very difficult to get to and leave the place to just the train station. the one and only option is there is a taxi from the exit to the train station for 15EUR. PS ; driver is nice BUT does clearly tries to sell that you agreed on a ride first to the “Scala dei turchi” before getting to the station. We insisted that we had a train ride already booked. Thanked the driver but we really needed to catch our train.

Beautiful and very interesting. We had a excellent guide Michele who made us the sunset tour. Very interesting and nice guide. In summer it's better to visit the place at sunset or evening, the place is really hot and there is not so much shadow.
