(Translated by Google) The entrance to the historic center of the city of Noto is traditionally identified with this Arc de Triomphe, built in 1838 by a local noble when he learned that King Ferdinand II of Bourbon, Sovereign of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, would have come to visit . It was built in neoclassical style with the curious presence, on the top, of three symbolic figures characterizing the city: the tower (for strength), the stork (for gratitude) and the dog (for loyalty). (Translated by Google) 09/26/2021 Stay with my girlfriend, entrance to Corso Vittorio Emanuele, royal door in Baroque style very fascinating to see. Along the course you can admire churches, monasteries and the beautiful cathedral of Noto on the right. Very clean surroundings. Noto is gorgeous. Very nice day trip from Syracusa or Catania/Taormina. I would recommend also having coffee and a dessert at Caffè Sicilia. We visited Noto as part of the Baroque Tour with Sicily Grand Tour (Alessio who is the best tour guide ever)

Pittoresque entry portal to Noto. Some bars and restaurants all around, and a great view on the main avenue of Noto. Facing the entrance avenue with amazing trees, and parking. Recommended! 👍

The city is historic with lots of various historic landmarks, but overall it is quite warm and the sun is skorching since it is placed on a hill. Overall go for it if you have seen most of the other famous places in Sicily.

It's a very pretty arch, but at the end of the day, it's just an arch. Front is prettier than the back.
