Great location with all the basics. The volunteer staff are excellent. Perfect for a cycling stop over. Great pub over the road for all your food needs if you don't fancy cooking for yourself.

We had a lovely two night stay. The volunteer staff were super helpful, and the self catering kitchen well stocked with pans, crockery and utensils. The building is old and creaky, and full of character, in the centre of a beautiful little village.

A classic YHA: simple, functional rooms with a bit of wear but well located for exploring the local area. Kitchen is big and well equipped. Parking was straightforward. Bears all the hallmarks of an older hostel, namely creaky beds and sweaty nights. But then, you didn't come here to sit around in your hostel, right? The village is pretty and has a lively pub next door.

Great little village if you are just stopping for the night. The volunteers in the hostel were very helpful and friendly. There is a post office opposite the hostel for essentials and the pub across the road serves very nice food and has a big beer garden. The standard of the hostel isn't that of arnside or York but still very good

Beautiful little village, very quiet. YHA is nice. Lots of walkers and cyclists use the hostel. The Hodder Valley is a hidden treasure. Would go back again.

Favourite hostel of mine. Very cozy and brilliant village setting. Volunteer staff invariably cheery and helpful. Fireside evenings are special here.

Great welcome by volunteer staff member. Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and shared dining rooms & real fire in the lounge. Pub a quick hop and skip across the road to access beer and free WiFi (Hark to Bounty ). Close to Stocks Reservoir and Gisburn Forest.
