Bought tickets on line but very quiet the day I visited, so was able to walk straight in. Some stunning architecture; don't forget to look up and check out the beautifully ornate ceilings! One of the highlights for me was walking around the gardens. Free entry, but not until after 4pm, on a Monday; may try next time, but for a first visit, give yourself plenty of time to wander around leisurely. (I was there for nearly 4 hours - recommend you take drinks and snacks, to sit and enjoy in the gardens).

Amazing way to spend a day in Sevilla. The grounds are well kept, the history as rich as it gets and even the crowds seemed tolerable. The gardens were occupied with peacocks and other small animals and the ponds were filled with fish and ducks. Overall a nice refreshing visit to Ottoman influenced architecture while in Spain. Tickets were available to purchase when we arrived. Our time to visit was just 40 minutes away so a walk around the church grounds was sufficient before lining up. We were able to enter 15 minutes before our assigned time so no need to wait the full wait time.

Incredible palace. One of the best I’ve seen in Europe. The gardens are exquisite and pleasant to stroll through. We arrived at 11:30 (buy tickets online to avoid the ticket line) and we entered with a lot of people. Within an hour everyone dispersed and it felt somewhat empty. The weather was amazing so we spent a lot of time in the gardens. Don’t forget to check out the maze. That’s a fun thing to do. After spending some time with the peacocks and checking out the bathhouses, we made our way back inside and revisited the many different rooms as well as the bath house. Everything is so well maintained and the entire facility is its own maze but well worth the visit and worth getting lost inside. My favorite room was the tapestry room. That contained tapestries from several hundred years ago and also told stories from great battles to eloquent religious images. Upstairs contained the plates, dishes, tiles, and other smaller items. It also included great views of the courtyard as well as other views of the gardens. As you near the exit of the property, there’s a really nice cafe and the exit puts you in another courtyard with lots of street art and vendors selling cool goodies. We bought a picture/painting so now my wife gets to lug that around for the rest of our trip lol

Superbe palace and gardens. Good opportunity to look for some freshness during the hot hours of the day. Nice cafeteria opened to the gardens. Necessity to book in advance your tickets, preferably several days ahead of your visit.

Bottom line: Recommend! Now, get online and reserve a ticket ASAP because it's a very popular attraction and if you want to reserve a time slot you should book it in advance! We came on a Saturday late morning and saw a huge queue to get it. We tried to buy tickets online using our phone but they require you to fill in passport or ID details which isn't very comfortable on mobile, so we went to the ticket office. There we waited around 30 min to buy a ticket for the same day (you can't buy for another day other than the same day). Also, you must show them a passport or an ID (if it's on mobile it's fine). We then arrived at our designated time of 17.30 (in the summer it's better to go early morning or late evening otherwise it's too hot!) and other than scanning the tickets no one asked for our IDs. So what is it needed for?? The place itself - after seeing Alhambra castel in Granada, this fort/palace was less impressive but nonetheless beautiful and unique. As opposed to Alhambra in which you can only go in 1 direction, here you can go wherever you want to and from wherever you want. This might be a bit confusing and you can easily miss some parts as this is a huge palace, but the free map (take one) might help (don't miss the wine cellar before going out to the garden). There is a bar outside in the gardens but it closed around 19.00 so make sure you go there before if you want to enjoy some drinks and snacks. Enjoy 😊

What an amazing place. Truly unique. Buy the ticket in advance still like 10min queue. You can manage all in 2h but I suggest you spend lots of time in the large garden.. And do 3 to 4h

Such an interesting, amazing place 🤩. Please order your tickets online, this will save you time when entering, as due to COVID-19 they stopped selling at the entrance. I’ve been here with my parents when I was a little kid. I advice you to take a guided tour. They tell you so much more. The ceilings are so impressive and the garden too. Outside it was like 40 Celsius but inside very comfortable temperatures. If you can stand high temperatures there is so much more to see in this city.

Beautiful. Old Islamic architecture has so much attention to the finer details. It is absolutely stunning. We visited in July. It was too hot, temperatures were 49°C plus. We were not able to see all the gardens due to it being so hot. Would not recommend visiting in the summer months. Plan on spending at least 3-4 hours just to look around. More if you would like to relax and appreciate the palace and gardens.

It strikes me more like a massive mansion with garden, rather than a traditional museum (with loads displays). However this is the fun of it. I visited with the audio guide and that allowed me to slow down my pace, walk around, look carefully, listen to the stories and feel the vibe. Indeed it is a very peaceful palace and you can smell the glorious days in the past. The earlier the visit is , the better experience you have. Also I love the sunshine in the garden, Seville is truly a place that makes you pleasant, cheerful and don't wanna leave!

Must see, when you're in Seville! Beautiful architecture and gorgeous gardens. Very picturesque! Buy your tickets online and skip a huge and slow ticket office line! Have a coffee in the garden and enjoy life! It never feels busy because of the grandness.

(Translated by Google) Few places like the Real Alcázar to know and enjoy Seville. It is one of the most important monuments in the city, a summary of centuries of history, art, architecture, a unique historical document, with samples of Almohad, Gothic, Mudejar, Renaissance, Baroque art, ... it is quite a sample of the artistic styles present in Seville from the 11th century until today. If you come to Seville, it is an essential visit. (Original) Pocos lugares como el Real Alcázar para conocer y disfrutar Sevilla. (Translated by Google) It is simply impressive, perhaps the best monument in the city, and the bar is high. Strolling through its different rooms is like a walk through different artistic and architectural trends thanks to the varied styles that make them up. Its gardens are very well cared for, and further enrich the visit. (Original) Es simplemente impresionante, quizás el mejor monumento de la ciudad, y eso que el listón está alto. Beautiful place. Great place to learn about history. Great place for photos. While we were visiting you could only buy tickets online. It can be crowded if you go later in the day. Best time to go is as soon as it opens. Has a nice Cafe and you get to see peacocks walking around from there. Beautiful surrounding.

Breathtaking Palace in the heart of Sevilla. The palace and it’s large gardens are immaculately preserved, it’s really like stepping back in time. It was lovely to free roam around on our own and it didn’t feel busy or crowded at 10-12pm on a Thursday morning. We bought tickets two days in advance during peak season (early August) and it said limited tickets were available so definitely suggest buying in advance. We got there at 10am (our booked time) and walked straight in with no wait. We were there on a near 40 degree day but found it relatively comfortable inside the palace and in the gardens.

A must see heritage site. Highly recommended. It would be better to get your tickets online and in advance. Though we did not spent too much time to get ours from ticket office. The garden and the building are so amazing and absorbing. Make sure you have enough time to spend because there a lot to see and enjoy.

A MUST SEE when you visit Sevilla. The details throughout are absolutely stunning, and the green space is so lush. The Moroccan influence can be seen throughout the palace. We did our own audio tour, which was really easy to follow. However, there was a guided tour next to us, and we found out extra details listening to the guide that weren't on our audio. So I would recommend a guided tour. We were there for about an hour and it went by really fast. Give yourself up to two hours to really soak it all in.

If you have seen Alhambra in Granada, the architecture of Alcázar doesn't fascinante you. However, the gardens are amazing! One suggestion: buy tickets online to avoid the long queue. Audio guides don't give enough information, at least in English.

A very beautiful palace to visit in Seville. When you walk inside the palace, you can directly feel the mediterranean style found on the accents of its interior. It was indeed a very nice palace. It is also known to be one of the places where "Game of Thrones" was filmed. The palace has a very big garden area where you can spend a lot of time - it is very beautiful. I recommend you to buy tickets online. This is a must visit place if you are travelling to Seville.

Wow the architecture is beautiful! Tiles are so colourful! And the grounds just go on and on and on. Be sure to prepare a few hours to get through this palace. We were there for over 2 hrs and didn't cover all the gardens. It's a very beautiful attraction and must see! Also can't forget Game of Thrones!

Magnificent and extensive site packed with historical and religious significance both Christian and Muslim. Beautiful stonework, tiles and architecture. A lovely place to spend 2-3 hours wandering the Palace and grounds. We visited end of February so the queue moved quickly and it was easy to move around.

The Alcázar is a truly amazing place in which you could lose yourself - quite literally - for hours. It is a maze of a place, with beautiful, breathtaking architecture and some delightful gardens, where you could spend hours admiring the wonders it has to offer. However, it is not very sensitively presented. Throughout the tiled palace sections, ugly rope barriers with metal poles mar the view, hugely insensitive in terms of visual effect and pretty unattractive in any photos. Moreover, the audioguide accessed by QR code on a phone costs €6. We did not bother, but the maps are few and far between and mainly damaged, while the signs are infrequent and the English on most of the faded or damaged to illegibility. So while this is an unmissable, stunning place, it needs much better effort when it comes to presentation and information.

Lovely place! Well worth a visit. I just didn’t like the crowds. We booked tickets for 10 but had to queue even though we were on time, but it didn’t spoil the place for us. Plently to see and visit inside so dedicate couple of hours to enjoy everything. Also it’s better to book tickets well in advance since we didn’t get a chance to see upper level, everything was booked for the days we were in Seville.

I'm always unsure whether it is worth to spend €13,50 for visiting such places (in the quiet season you can by a ticket near the exit, not just online) and after visiting I still doubt whether it is worth it. It certainly is a nice place, and some of the architecture is nice, but I was somewhat disappointed about both the interieur and the garden. There are certainly way better palaces and gardens to visit (not in Sevilla though).

Truly stunning. Could spend a long time in this place admiring the architecture and beautiful gardens. Try to visit on a Monday when tickets are free after 4pm. You have to book the tickets online and pay €1 admin fee. Would appreciate more written information but probably may have got this from the audioguide.

Beautiful Royal Palace! The influence of the Arab culture is nicely visible throughout the palace. We walked around for about 2 hours and it was well worth the €14. We bought our tickets online, so we didn’t need to wait. Came 20min to early but we were granted access. Audio guides, and real guides are available if you would like that. Overall a lovely visit to this monument.

We bought our tickets online same day (it’s typically a little cheaper to buy online) We bought our tickets at 9:50 am on a Monday for 10:30 am entrance. We walked in at 10:15am. It is a lot bigger than it looks, so be prepared for a lot of walking. It’s beautiful and has so much history. There is so much to look at you could easily spend a few hours there. The garden is giant, it has a small cafe and gift shop. There are ducks and peacocks walking around. The audio tour was 6€ on an app you can buy once you enter. I do recommend going early (if in the summer) because it gets very hot as the day progresses. We spent 2hours looking at everything and eating at the cafe and I still don’t think we saw everything, but we saw enough that I don’t feel like we missed anything.

Purchase the ticket online in advance to guarantee a slot on your travel date. Still will queue around half an hour to enter on your designated time slot. Take your earphones to use your phone as audio guide and save €7 instead of using their Audio guides. Beautiful place by all means and a must visit. Allocate 2 hours for the visit plus queuing time.

Truly stunning gardens and architecture. Lots to see and the grounds are quite expansive. Best time to go would be earlier in the morning or later in the evening to avoid crowds. Definitely purchase tickets ahead of time. Some scenes from Game of Thrones were shot here as well which is an added bonus for those who have seen the show. A must go when in Seville!

Spectacular and well worth a visit. The gardens are amazing! There are Peacocks in some of the areas. Extraordinarily friendly and roaming freely amongst people. The exhibitions are excellent. Had to queue for about 45 minutes to get tickets. Better to book online. It takes about an hour or so to walk around. There is a bar/cafeteria with plenty of selection. Loads of orange trees. Thoroughly recommend trying to get here.

Beautiful place at the city center with many rooms and gardens from different times in history. Even game of thrones was filmed here!! We really enjoyed our day and we found it more interesting than Alhambra... although it didn't have the view like in Granada. We got the audio guide but barely used it as there were signs for each room which were quicker to read than listen to the audio. I recommend taking one per family. We ordered tickets online but still had to wait in line to go in, so add a waiting time to your visit.

We bought tickets for right when they opened at 0930. We showed up at 0930 and had to wait in a long line, though it moved rapidly and took 15-20 minutes to get inside. The Palace itself is gorgeous inside, though only some of it is open for general viewing. The gardens are quite extensive and you could probably spend an hour or two just in them. The famous courtyard (where a scene from Kingdom of Heaven was filmed) lives up to expectations. Overall it's a fairly chill experience with some pretty sights.

Make sure to wear your best clothes and bring a fully charged camera/phone because every room and courtyard you'll want to take pictures. We spent almost 4 hours here. Before you enter you can scan a QR code for a free audiotour. This makes the visit even more fun since you get a sense of all the history and tradition. Tip: bring your own earphones so you can better listen to the audio. The royal bedroom tickets you have to reserve weeks in advance so make sure to do that.

We visited here in 2019 and again today. I loved it the first time and just as much the second time too. It’s an amazing palace and gardens. So much to look at. Seville was pretty quiet when we visited in July but this was the one place that was busy, although we queued for 30 mins for a ticket to enter immediately- so better than our previous visit in March. The palace is more busy than the gardens and on the second visit we spent more time outside sitting in the tranquil gardens. Easy to spend a delightful 3 hours here.

A true must see in the heart of Seville, you do not want to be frugal on this one, it is really worth it. Beautiful place no matter where you go and very big too, it could be hard to visit every room and garden without a map (which you can take at the entrance). Apart from the magnificent interior and gardens, you can find many peacocks just chilling somewhere near the trees and bushes. And for the tickets it would be smart to buy them in advance.

A well preserved and beautiful palace with gardens. Entrance fee was 13.5 € per person. Audio guide was 7 € per person available in many languages. You have to leave an ID card and telephone number to be able to get the audio guide!! Unfortunately there were no guides helping visitors how to follow any paths or sequence of places. So often people were ending up in dead ends, missing something or walking unnecessarily much. You have to leave back the audio guide to the office at the entrance and from then walk to the exit door, which are at two separate parts of the building. The ticket office, entrance/audio guide office and exit are 3 separated locations with a bit of distance from each other. This layout could be improved or better-marked so tourists won’t end up walking back and forth unnecessarily. Audio guide wasn’t the most modern one and could be improved to make the user experience smoother. They also use one-time use headphones per each tourist that produces a lot of unnecessary thrash. Think about how many headphones they thrash every day. Not a sustainable choice at all!!

However if you don’t like queuing, buy your tickets in advance The palace itself is truly beautiful and takes around 90 minutes to walk around including the gardens. It really is a stunning place to visit

Amazing palace with even more amazing gardens with great vegetation. Buy tickets in advance, if possible for the first entry of the day. For a short time you will be able to see and take photos without other tourists in them. Very nice architecture and enjoyable garden walks. I recommend this place for a Monday morning

Nice landmark but not pretty well organized. There are no directions and you might get lost. Or returning to points you already visited. Beautiful and large gardens where you can relax. If you want to read the info or listen to the audio guide it takes more than 2 hours to visit it. Careful If you plan your visit at 4 pm. By 5:20 - 5:30 pm they start closing and they direct you to the exits.

So beautiful. Worth a visit. It has done email mujadar architecture. It's inspiring. We took about 1.5 hours to look around. It was hot. Though the design of the palace keeps the indoor areas cool. Take your time. It's fairly busy most days. Early morning is the best time to visit in the summer.

This was by far my favourite attraction in Seville. The gardens in particular are beautiful and we spent a few hours wandering around. The buildings themselves don't have the grandeur of the Alhambra but are still well worth a visit. It is best to buy a ticket in advance online as there were quite large queues when we visited. Also good to arrive early to avoid the huge crowds.

A wonderful place that I'd recommend visiting with a reputable tour guide. Apparently this place or palace or castle is still in use by the royal family. I arrived early and had to wait for the doors to open, but this was a good thing as my group had most of the place to ourselves without any other people. Photography and video is allowed which is great because I took many photos. I wish I had more time at this location as there's much to see. Unfortunately, I don't remember much of the history lesson from my tour guide and won't be able to regurgitate any historical information in my review.

What can I say? It's magnificent. Sure, there are a lot of tourists, but you never feel oppressed. The number of visitors per hour is limited. This is my second visit to this place and I never tire of it. It's easy to wander around the gardens and find a haven of peace. Timeless moments.

So big and stunning, very beautiful architecture and the garden is so great and nice to walk through, I can totally recommend it. But I would also recommend buying the tickets in advance, there was a big line!

Gorgeous grounds to walk through. We had a guided tour booked through Trip Advisor, which was wonderful, but I’d also like to stroll through untethered to explore. If you’ve seen the Alhambra in Granada you’ll be familiar with the architecture, also not as impeccably maintained. Book tickets early!

Another must see in Sevilla, an important part of the city's history! Within the grounds there are the Palace and the gardens - both are beautiful. A nice afternoon activity, it takes around 1-2 hours to walk round the whole thing if you're not rushing. It's worth the experience at the student price of 4€, but perhaps the regular ticket price is a little steep (around 10€ I think). The best idea is to buy tickets online first, this allows you to enter fairly quickly as long as there's not a queue at the entrance. They may ask for ID depending on the type of ticket you buy.

One in a lifetime experience. So much history in this building, a true beauty! We took the sundown tour which includes a performance, which I thought would be corny, but it was very well done, it added context to the history of the building and the city. If you are an architecture buff, this is a place for you, so much detail and careful design. The staff does a great job at caring and providing customer service.

Wonderful place with beautiful gardens and scenery. Make sure you book. Was so nice I even returned to Saville with my mum for a long weekend and she was blown away by it. Interesting history of the place and even managed to get into the Royal quarters. Stunning.

One of the most marvelous palaces I've visited in Europe and Spain. It's so we'll maintened considering its age. Originally it was residential fortress for Abbadid muslim alcazar but it was later detroyed and rebuilt after the Christian conquest of Sevilla. Very big places that will take at least 2 hours to walk around see all the gardens and buildings.

Entrance tickets as 14.50 euro per ticket- reasonable price for such unique place, easy to buy online. So entrance was easy and fast, the first floor of the main palace building absolutely awesome. Gardens very beautiful. You can find wc and nice cafeteria in the garden! Definitely highly recommend to everyone who will visit Sevilla!

An awesome Palace that is almost as beautiful as the Alhambra in Grenada. The gardens are enormous and you can stroll around for quite a while. In the gardens there are lots of different birds. You can take a guided tour or set off your self. You can online purchase a ticket for a few euros, but it's worth while! There is a little shop inside to buy your self a souvenir.

Great Palace, in Spain second only to Alhambra in Granada. Buy tickets on site for a Euro less, but be warned that if you want the audio guide you should buy in advance online as they are likely sold out on the day. Lots to see in terms of architecture, tiles, tapestries, ornate ceilings, carved huge doors and stone arches, and lots of decorated courtyards. Gardens are well manicured, with peacocks, fountains and sufficiently large that they never feel crowded

I wasn’t sure if a palace was really worth 13€, but the gardens alone make it worth the stop! I wandered around for hours mesmerized by all of the beautiful trees, fountains, plentiful shade, and little critters. Such a beautiful place!

  • 3/5 Brad B. 2 years ago on Google
Nice place to visit but not amazing (I grew bored quickly) unless you like architecture. Suggest having the audio guide to help provide some historical context. Standing in the line with online tickets took about 10 minutes.

When they filmes Game of Thrones. Beautiful place where you can easily spend hours. Book your ticket in advance. It’s a bit too busy though

  • 5/5 Irene W. 2 years ago on Google
Fantastic antique palace/fortress in the heart of Sevilla. You have to buy the tickets through one entrance (actually, the exit) and get in line on the main entrance, which could get long, depending on the time and day. This is a fabulous place, and the gardens should not be missed.

  • 5/5 Pamela Violet A. 2 years ago on Google
We spent a few hours here and it was definitely worth a visit! We were having issues buying tickets online so queued up early in the morning. The ticket office is around the corner from the main entrance, and there wasn't a line up at 9:30. A line started forming to get into the Alcazar a bit after 9 but it moved quickly.

  • 5/5 stanley c. 2 years ago on Google
Stunning interiors and truly unique experience! Definitely worth coming to Seville for. We got lucky too and saw the peacocks and parrots! Very cool! Great for Game of Thrones fans! Additionally, if you have the chance to go to Cordoba, it's interesting to compare the 2. As our guide said on Cordoba, if you can combine the interior of the Seville alcazar with the garden of the Cordoba one, that would truly be the best.

Amazing and beautiful! A must visit if you are in Seville! Buy you tickets online ahead of time if you want to visit at a specific time, otherwise you might not get the time slot you want if you buy them in person. The Alcazar is always a little packed with people but the gardens are peaceful and nice to stroll through.

Amazing place. Lo mejor de Sevilla. Spend two or more hours inside this legendary location. You will remember it for the rest of your life.

  • 5/5 Jonathan G. 2 years ago on Google
An impressive palace with rich and interesting history. The area is built from many gardens, rooms, pools and view points. Giving you an impressive tour and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the beauty of the history, architecture and nature. Will recommend to visit in a nice sunny day. Enjoy :)

Seville is amazing, lively and beautiful. The Royal Alcazar is a stunning historical site that you should reserve at least a half day for. I got tickets at the ticket office and the audio guide. The audio guide let's you visit the site at your own pace and get all the vital information you need. For me, I prefer this to the guided tours. IMO you should avoid the tour hawkers and only buy your tickets at the Alcazar (if it is not busy) or on the official web site. There are a lot of middle men who will happily sell you a ticket with the 30% markup and no added value There is little more I can say that is not in an the online guides. I loved it.

It’s a must see in Sevilla! Tip: buy the tickets online so that you don’t have to wait in the queue, also there are different entrances depending if you bought online or directly there! There’s also student discount! Just an amazing place to visit, seems like you are in a different time period with the different influences that the Alcazar has, definitely worth the visit. Important to note that although ♿️ wheelchair accessible, not every part is it tough!

Lovely beautiful historic palace and grounds. The gardens are fantastic, very disappointed that the well reviewed maze was closed due to Covid. The gardens were exquisite, really good back drop for photos and really relaxing environment for a pleasant and calming visit. Absolutely lovely tile exhibit

It’s an absolutely breathtaking place. You can’t stop falling in love with all lines an ornaments. Take some time to enjoy the park (better take some snacks with you). Also, I advise to book your ticket online instead of wasting hours in the queue to the ticket office.

  • 5/5 Kim C. 2 years ago on Google
Absolutly wonderful! If you tend to take your time and go slow (like me) plan on this visit being at least a solid 2 hours of your day. Everything is SO beautiful it is amazing. I didn't get the ticket that includes the royal rooms because those get booked up in advance, but don't worry if you can't either, the general ticket is so worth it as well. Don't miss this on your trip to Sevilla!!

A magnificent place right next to the Cathedral! Free audio tour in 6-7 different languages (no Hungarian though 🙄 🤷‍♂️), very informative and detailed stories about every corner of this "little hacienda" 🤭 The interior was nice and cool even with the 40° outside. Got my ticket in advance but still had to queue up which did not take long but was a bit annoying. The there are ao many gardens and they are huge with friendly ducks, ducklings and peacock families roaming around the place, taking an occasional dip in the fountains. 🦆 It is a must see and definitely worth a visit!

  • 5/5 JJ T. 2 years ago on Google
Beautiful architecture, historical gem with a very relaxed atmosphere, don't miss this - must visit! On a nice sunny day this takes you back in time to the gorgeous well kept grounds and gardens where royalty used to hang out. Booking online is recommended and you can turn up approx 20mins before your time slot. The photos only show half the story, the close up intricate details are often missed if you don't pay attention, look up, down around, everywhere! Peacocks roam the gardens and come up to you for food. Spend time sitting in various places just enjoying the atmosphere!

Definitely purchase the tickets online, if possible a day before, to be able to choose a preferred time for your visit. We went to the ticket office at noon, a 20-minutes wait under the sun and the earliest available hour was at 3:30 pm. But the place is absolutely worth everything, wonderful gardens and also great buildings. You can expect to spend at least 2 hours inside and it would be a good idea to prepare some snacks and a couple of beers ;)

We went on a bright sunny morning, it was absolutely beautiful. We walked through the gardens and enjoyed the views of the palace. We did not have a guided tour but were still able to appreciate the merge between eastern and western artistic influences. A must see if in Seville.

Also and absolute must when in Sevilla. We took a guided tour as well and so glad we did. You can spend hours marveling the beautiful grounds and palaces. It’s amazing how well maintained the grounds and each and every room are. It’s nice to have the tour because you get to understand the history. Really fun experience and unique.

  • 4/5 Josh 1 year ago on Google
Went on a Monday evening at 6.30pm. The architecture is pretty interesting to see. Recommend you leave at least 2 hours to see the entire place end to end. It’s not that big but there are some interesting rooms to see. There is also a huge outdoor space that’s really nice to visit and take in

  • 5/5 Nilvanta K. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely stunning palace, both inside and out. You cannot visit Seville without a wander around here. We spent almost 3 hours walking around, with every corner revealing another awesome sight. Magnificent architecture, lush well kept gardens and very historic. Grand domes and beautiful intricate mosaics and carvings within the palace. Externally the fountain area and scenery can be recognised as set within movies. A bride and groom within alcoves displays how perfect this is as a setting for a memorable experience.

Wow, what a place. If you are in Seville, you must put this on your list of places to visit. Get there early so you can spend time wandering through the beautiful gardens. The Palace and some of the rooms are simply stunning and oozing with rich history

This place is historically beautiful but....not organized. Hard for self guided tour. No exit signage. Restrooms are closed. For a major attraction it has many deficiencies towards visitors.

Wow, what an amazing place to visit. There is so much to see and admire. From the beautifully looked after gardens, fountains, and pools to the gorgeous mosaics and stonework. This is a definite must visit when in Seville. Would recommend buying tickets online and booking a suitable time lot. Allow for a minimum of 2 hours to see all that this palace has to offer.

  • 5/5 Melissa B. 9 months ago on Google
I came here right at the end of the day, so I only had little over an hour to visit. So I wish I had more time, but the time that I had there was absolutely amazing. It is the most fabulous and opulent building I have ever seen. It's kind of like the Spanish Buckingham Palace. Every little detail was immaculate. I paid €13.50 to enter, but it's cheaper if you are an EU resident. Definitely recommend coming here. And I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in Sevilla.

  • 5/5 Racha Z. 9 months ago on Google
Magnificent Palace, I felt like Alice in wonderland, the architecture, the tiles everything was exquisite, and took me centuries back in history. It is so big has lots of rooms, lots of gardens, many floors, peacocks, ducks, pigeons and birds, we also had fun at the maze. We spent 4 hours and wasn't enough for us. I recommend buying a ticket online to skip the line and also take some drinks and snacks for a brack at the gardens.

  • 5/5 Gerben V. 9 months ago on Google
The palace is very pretty. It is huge with different styles of architecture melted together in a labyrint of buildings and gardens. You can spend hours there and visiting the royal chambers upstairs is a nice option to add. The gardens are a nice place to relax with a cold drink in the summer heat of the city.

  • 5/5 Marianna S. 9 months ago on Google
This place! I’m speachless! It’s so beautiful, I even shed a tear! The place is huge, so if you’re planning to spend a few hours there, take a bottle of water and a snack with you. The royal gardens are spectacular and there’s plenty of shade too.

Stunning palace & SO many rooms plus the gardens. Stupendous architecture & interiors. Can't do it all in one visit though. Definitely worth buying the timed tickets in advance.

The place is magnificent! Different architectural styles are visible and you go back in time watching the marvelous gardens and highly decorated rooms. Audio tour is worth the extra so you get more details of the place.

Great experience, got visit a part of history. The architecture is fascinating. You could see the different eras that have lived and passed through it. The gardens are so beautiful, and each one is special to an era of history. I'm giving it 4 stars because as the payment is done by card only it creates a bit of a hassle for tourists that have cash only so I've seen people on the line with me that have left for this reason.

Must go attraction when visiting Sevilla. Main entrance was slightly difficult to find especially when the surrounding gardens are gated off for maintenance. Inside, there were a variety of amazing sites to see, including exhibits, intricate architecture, blossoming gardens, and historic art. Tickets slightly costly but worth the grandiose scale of the palace. Definitely go and see as much of the place as you can.

  • 4/5 Mayas Abo N. 9 months ago on Google
Experiencing the rich history within the walls of this remarkable place is truly inspiring. The architecture stands as a testament to the different eras that have shaped its existence. The gardens, each reflecting a distinct era of history, add to the allure of this magnificent site. Their beauty and significance transport visitors through time, offering a unique connection to the past. While the overall experience is remarkable, it's important to acknowledge the waiting time until you can go inside ( or to buy the tickets if you haven’t bought any online ) so this waiting time + the hot weather doesn’t make the waiting very pleasant. Consider the students tickets if you have your student ID ✌🏻☺️

Such an amazing place to have visited! Really fascinating to visit this old palace and it’s immaculately kept gardens which are well worth a visit. Peacocks roam the grounds adding to the beauty and there’s a lot to explore. Really interesting architecture as well which dates back thousands of years.

  • 5/5 Jimmy V. 8 months ago on Google
Amazing palace to see both inside and out. Peacocks roam the gardens and it is very well maintained. In 35+ heat, you should look to bring in your own liquids as there is only one cafe and it is quite far around the route.

  • 5/5 Ismail B. 8 months ago on Google
What a culturally rich experience... to think it was someone's home! Yes I know it was a monarchy's palace, but the shear scale of it. The place is the size of a neighbourhood with gardens, courts, fountains, art, culture and more. Just sitting in one of the many occasional spaces and absorbing the peacefulness of what royal life was like back then. One can easily imagine how world decisions were made there - decisions that affected world politics of the time.

  • 5/5 donald g. 8 months ago on Google
Great place to visit. Has been restored well and carries a lot of history. Best to get tickets online in advance. The only downside was the lack of a specific route and the maps we were provided were not helpful.

  • 5/5 Jeana f. 8 months ago on Google
Gorgeous architecture at various levels with nice gardens. The inside architecture is the most impressive and can take over an hour just to see everything inside. Go deeper into the building ad the entrance area is nice but the tile work and painting gets more impressive further in and on the lower levels.

  • 5/5 tanya f. 8 months ago on Google
We went in the evening to one of the garden concerts. Most of the garden was open to walk around. (I have been in the day to go around everywhere before) it was so nice to see it in the evening all lit up. If you get a chance to go in an evening I would recommend it.

The Real Alcazar of Sevilla is an absolute gem! Stepping into its halls is like stepping back in time. It’s a mix of buildings and styles. But the well preserved decorated walls in the inside of the buildings impressed me most. The gardens and the fountains are beautiful too. When you buy the tickets for the general visit, you can use it to visit the Sevilla antiquarian and the ceramic museum, so don’t miss these opportunities too.

  • 3/5 Vivian W. 7 months ago on Google
Expect long queues. Pre purchasing tickets is a must. Once in, it's worth purchasing the audio guide to better understand the different rooms and architecture. Arguably, the gardens are much more beautiful than the building itself. Would suggest and recommend spending more time outside than inside

  • 4/5 Omar G. 7 months ago on Google
Excellent location. As always, with Spanish museums and historical locations exploration happens in a free roaming approach. I don’t have anything against it but I prefer a more structured unidirectional experience. As of now, there are few scaffolding structures getting in the middle for the pictures. Also, if you’re into photography try to get as early or late in the afternoon as possible. Mid day harsh light notch gets 10x in a regular summer day

Such much history it's hard to take all in. We definitely be coming back. We did a tour which was awesome! We skipped the line. This is a must visit if you are in the area. Try to get on early to beat the crowd! Also, buy tickets in advance before your trip because they do sell out fast!

You have to enter via the main entrance near the cathedral, there was a queue but it moved really fast. Overall wasnt impress with the architecture or the garden, there were no flowers or any nice view worth visiting. I do not recommend visiting this place in the autumn.

Very rich decorated palace with a large garden. Don't go inside if you are not prepared (comfortable shoes and plenty of time). It's recommended to buy tickets online, a couple days in advance.

The Alcázar of Seville is the medieval royal palace of Seville. Book the tickets in advance. Go there as early as possible. No food and drinks are allowed inside. Only water. They proof ID and scan bags. This takes time. The complex has a long architectural history dating back to Moorish times and is still used today by the Spanish royal family as an official residence when they are in Seville. Also used for events. Amazing architecture and lots to see.

  • 4/5 Rachel S. 6 months ago on Google
Beautiful and complete MUST visit in Seville. We bought tickets far ahead of time for an early slot but still had to wait in line. It definitely got a lot busier when we were leaving, so if you want an experience with minimal people then definitely aim to get there early - their earliest slot (9:30) is not even that early so you don't need to wake up at 6am to make this one. There is lots to see a lot of photo opportunities. I would say this would benefit from a guided tour. We decided to visit on our own, just using a map as our guide, and we found ourselves visiting the same rooms over and over. Something that could have taken an hour ended up taking two. There really is no sense in how the rooms are laid out or how the gardens connect to the buildings, and the maps are not that helpful. Additionally, the main part of the Alcazar (the one you see in all the photos) is under construction, so we didn't get to experience it's true beauty. You can also buy a separate ticket for the Upper Royal Room, which we didn't know about previously. They were sold out on the day we visited so we didn't get a chance to see this - not sure if it's a must see, but would have been nice to get the option.

  • 5/5 Michał K. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful gardens that you should see when you are in Seville. Buying tickets is in other place than enter to the Palace. Unfortunately the Google Map is not very precise and make you run around the Palace. If it's not a hot summer then no problem but if it's hot it's not OK.

  • 5/5 Nicole 5 months ago on Google
Such a beautiful place. Unfortunately, the gardens were closed when we went so we didn’t get to see that. I will definitely come back to make sure I see the gardens and maybe book a guided tour so I can understand more about the place. The details are amazingly done. We booked the first slot for the day and got to take so many great photos where there were no crowds.

  • 4/5 Josh L. 5 months ago on Google
Even if you buy your ticket online ahead of time (including the "skip the line" tickets) you should expect to wait in line with everyone else that has tickets for the same time slot. But the line isn't too bad since you're standing in a pretty incredible square next to the cathedral. Decent value for how much time you can spend inside the palace grounds. There are so many rooms and floors to explore and the amount of detailed craftsmanship is awe inspiring. Would definitely bring a snack next time and finish off the walking tour with a quiet rest in the incredible gardens before heading back out to explore the rest of Sevilla.

  • 5/5 Kuba K. 5 months ago on Google
Despite the fact we bought the tickets online we had to wait in the line for around 20 minutes (on Monday!). Remember to take any ID with you as they check the names on the ticket. After the control process the fun part begins. The palace is just astonishing with beautiful tiles everywhere and visible arabian architecture impacts. And don't forget to see the gardens, a real gem, where you can relax and enjoy the greens. Highly recommended to visit.

  • 5/5 Jennifer P. 5 months ago on Google
Beautiful palace and grounds. Pictures can't depict the beauty and intricacies in architecture and tile work. We took an audio tour with a guide. It allowed us to "skip the line" but we would have been happy exploring on our own. We walked the city a few days later and came across two weddings at the Palace. One was ending and one was just about to start. It was a lovely sight.

Most beautiful palace ive seen! Nice to get tickets that can tak you to the whole complex including gardens and other small gathering places in the gardens! Peacocks and a few other animals in the gardens make it very peaceful and tranquil! For a little bit more you can get tickets to the 1st floor for a guided tour of some of the most important rooms. Lined with history about additions made by other kings as well. The maiden's bath almost underneath the complex is amazing!

Breath taking experience! This palace is first known to me by the scene shot in game of thrones. When I am here, I see so much more and so much better. Unlike typical royal garden, this one consists of many little cozy courtyard that is familiar to normal class people. You will definitely enjoy yourself by wandering inside or simply sit somewhere sunny.

This place is stunning. Great architectural features and a garden that everyone dreams of having. I recommend going right when they open for the best chance at getting pictures with minimal people around as later in the day it will be very busy. I also recommend booking the royal chambers tour and getting a look at the private areas of the royal family. You need to book this tour online and try to get it atleast 60 days in advance. Don’t show up late or you might miss your chance as they only let max of 10 people in at a time.

  • 5/5 Leisa W. 4 months ago on Google
Sensational experience, the palace is huge so be sure to give yourself plenty of time. We didn't get the audiotour and regretted it, so I would if I had my time again. I also went later in the day around 4.30pm.. it was good because there were less crowds, but I more time before they closed would have been good (we went in November). Sunset over the gardens was ethereal ✨️

Bought tickets online and was glad as queue was very long without. You need your passport or ID to get in. Inside is stunning in the Moorish tradition. Climb the wall and take some pictures as the view over the gardens is great. Don’t miss the historic tile exhibition if you are interested in design.
