If you come to Townsville and you love seafood, you should definitely try this place. Their products are delicious and most importantly fresh. very good prices and large portions. You can be sure that you will be fed. They are not fake, they really serve the customer with a smile. 5 star place.

Absolutely daylight robbery. So angry. Pulled up the menu online through the Treehouse website, thought the 'fish and chip sandwich' for $11 to be good value and I enjoyed it last time. Described on the menu as "fish & chips on fresh bread with tartare sauce & zesty seasoning, served with extra chips & drink". Decided to be a bit healthier and skip the extra chips and drink and get the "sandwich only $8" version. A friend paid and picked up the order for us ... only to find out the cost was actually $15! AND there was no chips in the sandwich and cheap soggy white bread. $15!! A photo of their menu displayed in store showed that while the fish sandwich was the absolute worst value, ALL meals had increased by $5 - $11.50! This is not a problem if you actually get to see the menu and decide you can't remortgage your house for lunch, but to not have an updated menu available is wrong. Highly overpriced! $12.50 for 2 small chicken pieces and maybe 20 chips. No sauce... didn't even come with the bucket. Burger meal for $22, again, small. Bun fell apart as I tried to pick it up. Fish was overly crunchy. Chips dry and hardly seasoned. Not worth the $98 for a family of 4

Decent sized portions. However, went back a second time and portions were smaller. First day i got a hamburger, the burger bun wasnt toasted OR buttered...and i wasnt offered a choice for sauce and im pretty sure the patty was store bought. I didnt eat the bun as it was soggy. Bit exxy, but expected with tourism etc. Wife ordered the Barra and chips. Barramundi was flakey, creamy and tasted good. Service was a bit slow, but can't complain when you're across the road from a gorgeous beach view and close to a natural flowing waterfall. Overall, not bad, but not great.

Awful food. Have always come here when I come to Townsville, but this will be the last. Standards are terrible. Happy to wait the long wait time for quality, but this all ended up in the bin. Soggy chips, potato scallops where the potato is black and not totally cooked.

Not as amazing as I remembered it to be. That being said, you can still get a decent Fish and Chips there. The seasoning kind of tastes like Ramen seasoning, you definitely have some MSG in there— you’ll have to decide for yourself if that’s good or bad. All in all, I don’t want to rate this place too harshly as I definitely did make some great memories there, the food is homemade as advertised and is of quite solid quality.

We had a really bad experience here. Would not waste your time and money on this garbage. Ordered at 7:36 pm and our food did not come out until 8:57 pm! After that wait I was given a wrap after having ordered a burger without them telling me. It looked disgusting and the chips were dry and cold. The fish was overcooked in what tasted like dirty oil. Awful!

Worst fish I've ever had, as a fisher man I didn't know that a piece of fish could be cut so thin. Never before have I seen this, it was so thin I think leather may be thicker. We were robbed, Ned Kelly wore a helmet. Shame on you guys. $9 grilled fish

Do not even waste your timing coming to this place. We waited half an hour for food which in the end was inedible. The meat on the hamburger smelt rancid and looked even worse and the bread was simply ridiculously oversized maybe to compensate for the disgusting meat that was being used. Seasoning on the chips was tangy and chemical like and even a request to leave off carrots (who puts carrot on a hamburger?) could not be followed. I’m soooo annoyed right now that I just basically threw away $80 and I’m still hungry just disgraceful! Do not waste your money at this excuse for an eatery and anyone who thinks the food is even edible has obviously never eaten elsewhere.

Edit: Returned recently and will say that I was surprised that my experience in general was much better. I'm glad that I can return to change my 1 star review to a higher rating. General customer service was much better during my last visit and all staff members seemed to be very attentive towards their tasks. Was pretty disappointed with my experience this afternoon. Waited patiently for about 8-10 minutes to be served, wasn't acknowledged once during this time. At first I was fine with this as the staff member was prepping a sandwich, but then paused her prep to talk to another employee about stock (again fine) and left the sandwich to be attacked by flies. During all time not even giving a "We'll be with you in a second" and no regard to the flies on the sandwich. Usually I love this place, and as a hospitality worker myself I'm pretty casual with my expectations. I decided to leave and go elsewhere. I'd still recommend this place for the quality but wanted to leave feedback for the staff.

Was looking forward to some nice fish n chips for dinner. Prices didn’t match the website and are pretty expensive for what you get. The chips could have been cooked longer as they were soft and soggy. Fish was more batter than fish. Overall pretty poor experience and wouldn’t go back or recommend this place

This fish and chips was disgusting. I Never write reviews but this time I am. The fish and chips were small for the price the calamari was so small and disgusting. Our boxes came with no sauce. Potato scallops were raw took them back and they came back out raw. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!!!!

Have always been a regular for picnic and fish. Portion size for the kids Paul was absolutely laughable, quality significantly decreased. Asked for plain salt as kids don’t eat the lemon salt, the staff brushed off the lemon seasoning and put the plain salt on top.

The best fish & chips. The Crumbed prawns & Calamari Rings are a family favorite. All seafood cooked and seasoned to perfection, every time. Friendly and Patient Staff.

Was the only fish an chip shop open past 8pm so wasn't expecting much, then they gave me a bigger and better tasting serving of fish compared to any other shop around and the salt mix they have is incredible. 10/10 worth the drive out.

We ordered the share for 2 box We got over 2/3 box of hot, but tasteless french fries. 4 very small pieces of fish, 2 prawns, 4 tiny scallops ( didn’t taste like scallops) & about 8 rings of calamari, for over $40. I realise that prices have gone up, but 2/3 box taken up with packaged skinny chips refried & such pathetically small pieces of fish, was really disappointing. It was at least Hot, freshly cooked, but a very different experience to what we had last week in Mackay

Ordered sweet potato chips. They were the worst I've had by far. Very rubbery and oily.

Best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time. Nice sheltered spot. Batter was almost perfect, lite and crispy, I like to add turmeric and paprika and a touch of sugar, when I make my batter. Great lunch.

I ordered the 6 crumbed prawns. One of them was a third of the size of the others. I wasn't mad, just wanted another proper sized one (they're $4 each). They left the replacement prawn in the fryer for ages, it came out burnt and it was another tiny prawn. Obviously they thought that was pretty clever. I wouldn't think it was clever if I was the owner though.

$19 for 5 skinny pieces of calami and chips as part of scissor cone. Best part was chips

The BEST dim sims I’ve ever eaten. 100% homemade as advertised and beautifully seasoned and not oily or greasy. I just grabbed a few with loose change in my pocket as I walked past but I will be back to try the rest of their menu. Lovely friendly people please come down and support this family business they deserve it.

The crumbed Camembert was so delicious. I was looking forward to the burgers however a bit disappointed. Thank goodness for the snack of crumbed Camembert

Slowest service also didn’t even acknowledge people who were standing there for 10 mintues brought half my order out waited 15 mintues before asking about the other half of the order and the young boy said it’s ready we had to wait for the steak to defrost with attitude. It would be nice if greeted with a smile and not by rude staff. Food came out cold as well. Definitely will not be returning very disappointed.

Staff were lovely but the food was not up to par with what is being charged. The chip seasoning was uneven - either no seasoning on some chips or a ridiculous amount. The seasoning is incredibly tangy. Partner got calamari rings and they were the size of hair ties. Just wasn’t for us

Slowest service (on a Sunday at 1pm) and most average fish & chips in town. The servers made an effort not to make eye contact and ignore all the people in the line. Don't waste your time here. Head to Gregory St. for your fish & chips.

Not completely sure what the low reviews are for ! I ordered the regular fish and chips, with a salad on the side. I half expected tomato and lettuce as the salad but was given serves of 3 different salads which was a pleasant surprise ! The fish was crisp and tasted fresh and the chips were well seasoned. Sure its a tad above the median price for fish and chips - but I think its worth the occasional visit while you're at the strand.

Inedible. I am so sorry to have to leave such a poor review. Bought a fish wrap. After waiting a good half an hour, the fish on the wrap was dry and hard, far from being freshly cooked. The tomato was soggy and tasted funky. We have supported this business for years, but never again. So disappointing.

The best fish and chip ship around ! Their food is always delicious. Don't understand how can someone put one or two stars .. if you don't like the price, go to gas station and get meat pie. It's worth the money.

I never tasted aweful potato scallops in my life. They were not battered. They appeared crumbed. The sea scallops were the size of a ten cent piece. Will not recommend.

Went here to ordered dinner. Had the kids running the show more interested in playing around with each other than listening to our order, they gave us the wrong number. Went up to the counter and got the wrong meal, for them to calm us back because they gave us the wrong order and the time they fixed their stuff up our meal was cold. A waste if $50.

Ordered a fish and chip cone last night, with a lemon iced tea. Female assistant had a problem with English. Happy and chirpy but charged me $25.50 for cone and drink. When I questioned her about the price, she said "yes, that is right" As I need glasses to read menu and I didnt have them with me, I couldn't argue further. Had to pay the price, Friday night about 7pm. Docket #21. Definitely overcharged. NOT HAPPY!
