We ordered the Spaghetti bol & the cured pizza on menu log, we waited 20 minutes for confirmation from restaurant and a while for a driver which is was expected. We were extremely disappointed with what came! We paid $55 WITH discount. Pizza was cold, dry and chewy. Spag bol had almost no meat, no sauce, was cold and looked like a microwave dinner. Dominos or Pizza Hut even produces better pasta/pizza than this “Authentic Italian Restaurant”

My partner and I came here for Valentine's Day dinner it was beautiful I really like how they separated us from the restaurant so it was more private. The antipasto board was beautiful best arancini I've had in a long time. The pesto was so fresh and perfect amount of flavour. I had the grilled snapper and my partner had the Osso bucco. The snapper was cooked perfectly and the salad was light and fresh. The Osso bucco was so full of flavour the meat was tender and falling off the bone how it should be. I tried both being a chef I had to and it The dessert plate was delicious. Perfectly topped off with Persian fairy floss which is my fave. We will definitely be returning

A wonderful accidental discovery! We ended up wandering through City Lane when our plans were upended. We picked Donna Bionda, and I'm so glad we did. The staff were beyond helpful, including squeezing us in without a booking. The food was amazing. Each dish was close to perfect. The chefs know their Italian food! We sat near the pizza oven, which meant we got dinner and a show. The arancini were the best I've had in Townsville. The pizza base was perfectly charred, and the bolognese was spot on. The tiramisu was great, not too sweet, but not bitter either. The only downside was that the tomatoes on the bruschetta weren't overly ripe. A great date night spot. We will be back.

Highly recommended, had the best pasta in Townsville. Excellent atmosphere, delicious food, staff were friendly & knowledgeable. They have GF option for pasta and GF pizzas. Tiramisu was a desert to die for. Shout out to Leah - she was very knowledgeable of the menu and provided excellent service. She deserves a raise and a big pat on the back.

Unfortunately our experience was not good. We went for dinner on a Saturday night. We started by ordering drinks, unluckily the coffee machine was broken which meant the "rum and coffee" menu was out, two martinis were gone and one dessert was out. We ordered some appetizers, again dissapointingly we were told that apparently four of the food menu items were not available either. I say apparently because 40 min later a fresh table who walked in, ordered one of those items (arancini) which came out looking great. I quizzed the waitress about it and she just blatantly lied and said "sorry they ordered before you". We had already finished our appetizers and mains yet this table that ordered seemingly before us only just got their appetizers... You do the math. Thanks for the honesty. I wish I could say that some great pizza wiped away the bad little things however I do not think they were worth $29. The cheese to dough ratio is off. You have a tremendously thin and floppy base smothered with cheese only to be caged and held in with a very thick puffed up bit of crust (which detracts from the value aspect of the pizza). The balance just doesn't work in my opinion. The fresh and tasteful marinara sauce, dough and toppings are so overpowered by the ratio of cheese it just doesn't allow those other ingredients to breathe. Disappointing experience and not worth a trip into the city.

We dined mid week. Italian food from. Young Italian Chef was very good, Buono. The staff were excellent as we arrived late for the booking and had no trouble accommodating us. The menu was in the process of being changed, so we were able to try samples of new entrees and mains from the Chef. Lucky us.. All of this with a fine wine selection from a knowledgeable French manager, Leah. Thank you.

Nothing better than a well made proper Napoli pizza. Just ordered a pizza with artichokes and onion. Perfect chewy and light crust and just the right cover of topping. Also very nice mixed greens with almonds.

Just ordered 2 pizzas on Uber eats. Very disappointed - just not value for money. Didn't get what we paid for, Margherita and a Dona Bionda(extra cheese), received 2 cheese pizzas.

Fish of the day, advertised as fish with gnocchi was more like peas with fish and a handful of gnocchi. Not worth $34. Pizza was okay but a little too cheese-heavy. Drinks (two bottled drinks) came after the food had arrived.

The lady with curly brown hair serving at 745 on Thursday was absolutely beautiful! Her service was immaculate she was so so friendly and accommodating. She even went to the effort to make us surprise drinks that were beautiful. She deserves a raise!

All 4 meals were average at best. The clams/muscles and carbonara were too salty to finish and the large chunks of ham(?) in the carbonara were overpowering. Drink menu was better than most and city lane location was fun. Only half of 2nd drinks order turned up.

Was super delicious! Visiting Townsville for the weekend and stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. Located in a lovely alleyway with other eateries/ bars and great vibes. Staff were pleasant and accommodating, price point was fair and they had some lunch specials too - pasta for $15; can’t ask for much better than that! We had the squid ink pasta special and the pumpkin and sage ravioli and both were delicious. Highly recommend!

Donna Bionda is the gem of City Lane. Fast service, friendly staff, clean and comfortable atmosphere. Food was delicious, highly recommend the ravioli! The set up confused me a little bit as there are two seating rooms with the kitchen in the middle and I sat in the smaller left hand room. Look forward to going back to try more dishes off the menu!

The sauce, mussel and bread was good, however prawns were not fresh to the point that it tasted disgusting to chew it. I was told by a staff it is due to the supplier inconsistent quality, however I am utterly disappointed that nothing much had been done and have to pay a full price for the meal that has two mussels and four slice of bread. Coming from a hospitality background, I know hospitality industry isn't easy ,but what can be improve is to at least remove the item and replace with something else.

If I could give it 10 stars I would, food was fantastic, staff are great & the place looks cool too! 1000% recommend!! Note: lighting is pretty ambient so the photo doesn’t do any justice to how good it was 😋 Also ate pizza but I forgot to take a photo 🫡

Ordered through Uber eats. I took delivery into consideration but the food was just bad quality. Beer battered chips were soggy and unseasoned-$11.50. Beef ragu, the pasta was over cooked and dry, the sauce was interesting and the meat was also dry. It was not worth $27.50. I ate 20% of it because I was tired+hungry from a full on day. Ended up tossing it in the bin. Don’t tell me you appreciate my feed back .. just do better please.

Ordered 2 pizzas. $27 per pizza plus delivery. Apart from one piece of prosciutto no toppings. No value for money and very disappointing

When I made the booking, I choose the Anniversary box as we were celebrating and when we sat down they gave us 2 complimentary champagne glasses which was delicious. The atmosphere was amazing, the waitstaff was kinda and funny. The food was super quick and overall made our night.

Uber eats, lovely message on the bag. Ordered beef ragu and was expecting pappardelle, but got penne ragu. Bit difficult when you don't have recourse. Tastes good, but I don't like the texture of penne. I would settle for fusilli. First world problems I guess

Both Pizzas and pastas are epic! Can’t go wrong. Lunch specials are always great, the atmosphere is relaxed and the staff friendly. Great spot for a bite to eat and a bottle of wine between friends on a slow Townsville afternoon. This is truely a little gem in Townsville — keep it a little bit secret for me would you??

Found by reputation, served quickly and staff was very accommodating even when booked. Entree came quickly after ordering Garlic Pizza. Mains Chicken Parmigiana was burnt at bottom (Black Burnt), send back, new dish in 5 minute with the same chips and salad. Soggy crust and bad taste. No recommendations from me.

Beautiful pizza Bianca and the best Shiraz. Langmeil by the glass to accompany it. We started with lovely plump green pitted olives in oil. They offer coffee/rum combinations and wonderful sounding cocktails! We’ve returned after three years and the place eve. Better than last visit.

Ordered online for lunch, was 1 minute away as shop is next door.. got there said pizza was ready ,than was told to wait 5mins, due to walking.. there was one family of 6 in the room around 12:30pm. Waited 5-10min. Grabbed my margarita pizza which looked nothing like the image, was warm (not hot), dry, cheese was not mozzarella (well store bought, nothing like the images in reviews or google) disappointing three leaves of spinach as garnish. I even got comments at work, never again..

First let me say that I would have given 5 stars if the mains were available. The service is impeccable and the food was faultless. Clearly a must try locale. They were happy to modify the dishes to suit particular preferences. Will definitely return and encourage those who know that Italian is more than pizza, to add to their dining choices.

Value for money definitely isn’t t. Ordered a $35 pasta - was missing the additional chicken and was a ridiculously small serving in a plastic container. Pizza was nothing like the picture. Small. Very little ingredients. Super disappointed in the $65 meal. Will never order from there again.
