RUDE! We were outside, trying to order on the phone. And the women in the phone was so RUDE! We were gonna order for bunch of people, because she was so rude, we just wanted to talk to the manager or the owner but she told us she is not there. We told her she is rude and hung up!!! These kind of people should not work in restaurants! They just lost a big order and a valued customer. We already know that the food is good but we will never come here again.

Kavsar is one of the best restaurants in Pittsburgh! Always delicious, always friendly! The only thing that I can complain about is that we live too far away and can't just stop by for a dinner any time we want some good food. And, as of special note, we have a little family tradition to order kids birthday cakes from Kavsar's owner (Tahmina) - they are just amazing and very creative, we always get tons of compliments from our guests!

Food arrived HOT! It was very tasty. This was the first time ordering but won't be the last. Great vegetarian menu. I have to order again to try the crepes!

Tucked away in the little lanes of Mt Washington is this gem of a place that pops up almost out of nowhere in the heart of a homely neighborhood. Where do I start.. Ok.. so they have a separate vegetarian menu..that's one star right there! The dishes are a nice balance of truly authentic with a couple of fusion options thrown in like Pasta or Eurasian stroganoff. We started with the mushroom and potato Samsa, eggplant rolls and stuffed tomatoes. I would have given the place 5 stars right there! But we didn't stop there did we. My boyfriend and I proceeded to order the traditional Uzbek bread and the mushroom soup, because soups are apparently important in the Uzbek culinary experience. Both were fantastic, fresh and warmly soothing on a cold winter evening. And then we also tried the Manti, the stuffed dumplings. We couldn't decide if we wanted the pumpkin ones or the spinach ones and our waitress sweetly suggested bringing us a half plate one type and the other half of the other. Problem solved! I'd actually give them a couple of extra stars for the service if I could! Our waitress was so helpful, accommodative and efficient. The one think I wish they had on heir menu was vegetarian plaf! (A rice dish). But our waitress told us that all we had to do is to call ahead next time and they'd have it made! The overall experience was like dining in a warm, friendly Uzbek home! (Shoutout to the interesting interiors!) Here's a business that values its patrons and they've found a huge fan in me. Of course, I took some of the baklava home for a late night snack. Both my heart and tummy slept happy and satisfied last night!

Awesome place for Russian/Uzbek halal food in Pittsburgh! I really loved their soups. I think they use lot of dill in their cooking. If you are not big fan of dill please let the waitress know. Even though there were lot of dills in dish, it was not overwhelming. They also made fresh bread for us. Customer service was very good.

Fantastic Uzbekistan food. We ordered from UberEats late at night when most things were closed already. We were blown away by the quality of the food. There were many great options for our picky vegetarian in our group. The beef stroganoff was amazing, supple and tender beef that melted in your mouth. The perogies were light and perfectly cooked. THE BREAD The bread was the star of the show. I ate nearly half a loaf after eating a VERY generous portion of beef stroganoff. I was full before i started to eat the bread but kept eating well after i should have stopped. The baklava were massive and amazing, this was after I ate a half of loaf of bread. If you are in Pittsburgh is a must try.

The best food in Pittsburgh. We eat there whenever we can. They have amazing entrees, desserts, and both sweet and savory pies. Plus they're really great people.

This wonderful unique restaurant, only a few blocks away from Mount Washington, serves up a variety of flavorful Uzbek and Russian food. Our large group (15) were given the private room. We started with the stuffed tomatoes, Tuzluma spiced cucumber salad, and homemade bread. Try the Plov with lamb, Lagman, Kavsar Salmon, Russian Cutlets, or the Gampan. They have a wide variety of vegetarian options.

This place would be hands down 5-stars if they still had their dine-in option. However, that is not the case. Take-out only. So, we going off food alone. And my goodness, it is all amazing! Recommend the stuffed tomatoes and the Lagman but no joke, everything is fantastic! Hell, even the damn bread is amazing! Support this delicious restaurant 👍

I’m sorry but don’t listen to any of the reviews here, the food was awful and even worse, the rude lady!!!!! REPLYING TO COMMENT: - NO, it is not because you told us you were a takeway restaurant, and FYI, it was never written in the restaurant sign OR in google that it was a takeway, you just changed the name in google after our review. And also, after we ordered and knocked on the door to ask for our food, you treated us like we were peasants but you were nice to literally 3 other people before us. (Plus, i've noticed most of the bad reviews here was due to the attitude of the lady so I know I am not wrong on this.) - Secondly, the rice was extremely hard, and had zero taste whatsoever. We are glad we didn't order more food. Please don't waste your time or money (SUPER EXPENSIVE BTW) in this restaurant.

Uzbek Restaurant and having served there in the U S embassy it is the real deal. I love Uzbek Palov rice cooked with lamb onions, carrots. It was so tasty!! The bread baked fresh and hot with meat and onions.

Absolutely delicious comfort food. We had noodle soup, fresh bread, veggie rice, and dessert. So yummy! We are looking forward to trying more of the menu next time!

We came for dinner. Ordered the eggplant roll, laghman, small bread, manti, and Russian honey Cake. The food was amazing. Dishes are flavorful and made me feel like we're eating in someone's home! I've not had Uzbek or Russian food before so don't have a reference point. But the food is delicious with lots of options, including vegetarian ones!

I’ve ordered several times over the last 6 months or so and it’s always delicious and warm. I’ve never called only ordered online and yes it does take a bit longer then some, BUT half the time they’re baking you amazing bread! If you think it’s pricey you get what you pay for. Food is great and good quality.

The soups are marvelous! The flavors stewed together with the chick peas, a hint of mint, the rich beef broth, homemade noodles; perfectly paired with the warm , Sesame Uzbek bread -absolute perfection! I highly recommend the Ugra and Mastava Soups 💙🤍💚💙🤍💚 The Nuhot Shurak melted in your mouth and I added a little heat with a dollop of the homemade Uzbek Chili Garlic Sauce. A must go to restaurant in Pittsburgh, the best kept secret in Culinary Cuisine in the Burgh .. Everthing homemade , everything made with precise pairing of spices . Fantastic Food ..💙💚💙💚

Love the atmosphere and the decorations. The food is authentic. The service is very good. I like that they served everything at one time. I will definitely go back if we visit Pittsburgh again. Highly Recommend!

It’s the first time I give rating for a place I never been to , each time I am trying to call to order , I get the worse service and worse customer experience when i just try to beg the person to order something. Always her answer is “ look at the menu, we are busy “! I’m also a customer trying to get the order , not to waste your time through the phone ! Just also as the other customers trying to get my order nothing else ! “ unfortunately Kavsar , tried so much to try your food, several times : but with this kind of way , I can’t be patient or even try to call again . —— REPLYING TO YOUR COMMENT.07/25/21 This is not true , I have not asked for you to tell me what is your menu , each time I called to ask for something you already have in your menu, you say “sorry we are out of that “ , then I surely accept that , then when I ask then give me what you have as an alternative from your menu , your answer is” we are busy With other custom “? Then you should not accept phone calls when you can’t even give an alternative for what you have from your menu .

When you live far away from home (Uzbekistan) you need a place where you can eat your favorite traditional Uzbek food. I'm so happy we have Kavsar here in Pittsburgh!😅 The food is always fresh, hot, and delicious! And I need to mention the national bread (Patir) which is just amazing!😍 When you eat food from Kavsar it feels like you're having dinner at home. Keep it up, guys, and good luck! Definitely going to visit you soon again!

I used to order the Uzbek plov years ago, but recently ordered again this past Sunday. I got an order of the handmade beef manti for the first time and really loved them! They remind me of soup dumplings and the sauce they come with is also lovely. I also tried the chicken soup with their fresh bread. Very satisfying. Would totally recommend Kavsar!
