If you willing to spend four hours and $500 for the dinner per person, this is good place to do so. Some reviewers counted each carrot as a dish but in fact, the tasting menu is 8 dishes. Many of the dishes are very rich and condense in flavor. Those would have benefited from guidance on how to consume them. For example, no beef stew is delicious is you mash your potatoes in the sauce but too salty otherwise. Desserts were really great, so was trout and cod. But given the pricing it felt short. After all, this is one star Michelin. For the 99% service was great just with once waiter giving attitude, not clear what was that about. Especially each patron leaving $100 in gratitude 🤷‍♂️

The Birdsong family gave us a show to remember. The service and food were immaculate. The team's effort shined in all the little details. Chef Chris's menu is first a local Pacific Northwest ingredient driven menu. Secondly, the yarn of ingredients were expertly threaded throughout our dinner with whimsy, nostalgia, and surprise. The blend of open kitchen fire smells, Santana music, and the dishes evoke a rustic cabin atmosphere. With all the birds and wood around, I almost thought I was in the forest habitat of Wingspan. We wanted to keep rolling the dice for more food all night long. Standouts on the food include the sea urchin cream puff (a sweet and savory umami bomb) and the caviar cornbread prepared elaborately in front of us. The wonderful dry aged quail had me giggling with calls to banh mi, French dip, and Peking duck. For a wonderous night out, experience it at Birdsong.

My wife Reiko and I just retired from our own restaurant since January 1st 2023 and we both loved fine dining but as you you know you don’t get to go out much when you own your own restaurant, but when you come across a restaurant like Birdsong you have to let everyone know! Our daughter Christa decided to take our family out to celebrate Reiko’s birthday and took us out to Birdsong. OMG what a treat! I have never experienced any other establishment liked the Birdsong! The entire staff worked in such a harmony without any communication to each other. We didn’t hear any printer noises except the good old 70’s to mid 80’s soundtrack. We had the Chef’s tasting menu along with Wine pairing which I highly recommended. Every course and every wine pairing were described to us. We received so many accommodations to us due to my wife’s birthday in such a personal touch! My hat off to Christopher’s wife who keep the pace of the restaurant through out the evening, what a joy to see that which remind me of the movie “The Menu” but with a very happy ending. We are grateful to have a picture taken with Christopher at the end of the dinner. I wish I can leave a 10 Stars rating instead of 5. Cheers!

Phenomenal food, service and atmosphere. Definitely an experience you won’t forget. The cornbread and caviar had us scratching our heads at first but it was our favorite dish of the night! Would highly recommend, but just a heads up - this location is very questionable especially after hours. The hostess was kind enough to make sure we had an Uber close by before leaving for the night. Didn’t take away from the restaurant itself but just beware.

My favorite restaurant in the world. Warm and welcoming, unpretentious, consistently perfect, playfully serious food and impeccably elegant service, detailed and thoughtful without feeling affected or contrived... The whole experience feels clean and modern and sumptuous and surprising and and and. Every time I leave I know I'll be back soon, and I'm already looking forward to it. Check out some of these pictures from my last visit on 6/29/23. It looks like art and tastes like nothing I've ever tasted before or elsewhere. Utter delight.

Lovely restaurant, worth its Michelin stars. I’d rate five stars, though unfortunately there were a few small annoyances during the dining experience - consider this as a 3,5/5. For starters, the table was booked after our reservation, which isn’t abnormal, but we felt very pressured by the maître d’, who would make it very clear to her staff and us by speeding us through the courses. Besides that, the service was slightly messy at times (e.g., forgetting to pour our coffee with the desert) - I’ve never had this kind of experience in a Michelin Star restaurant before, let alone 2*. Again, please consider this as a 3,5/5. Given the circumstances, I don’t feel that our experience was worth more than that at this time. From a culinary perspective, everything was great.

A wonderful experience. Food was spectacular. One in our party was allergic to shell fish. They were able to make substitutions that were easily as wonderful as the original menu. Everything about the meal was perfect.

Lovely dining experience. The ambiance is farmhouse chic, exemplified by the open fire pit in the open kitchen. The food refined Pacific NW. to start, the stuffed onion was crisp with balanced textures of onion and walnut milk sauce. Oysters were fresh and complemented by the sharp jalapeno. The trout course was exceptional. The meat came packaged in a little cedar box. The fish was delicate and flavorful. The uni puff was also a delight. Our favorite course was the quail. The presentation and ability to mix and match the flavorful meat with different sauces/garnishes and bread was entertaining. The aged lamb was flavorful but less nuanced. Desserts were enjoyable but not the highlight for me. I’d definitely recommend.

Excellent restaurant in a not so great neighborhood. In many ways, Birdsong is considerably better than the nearby Michelin 3-star Benu. A good place to park is the Trinity Place garage only a block from the restaurant. Even then, one can't avoid encountering the homeless folks on both sides of the street.

The best tasting food I've ever had in my life. The corn bread and caviar was by far my favorite. You can tell each recipe has so much effort and thought put into it because not a single flavor or seasoning is off by even a minute degree. It's perfection. My mouth is watering as I write this review. I really loved my experience and I highly recommend!!

An amazing experience with some top quality ingredients. The staff was extremely nice and understanding. The kitchen was beautiful and the interior design was gorgeous.

Very creative, delicious dishes celebrating mostly local ingredients.Watching the staff prepare your food has a bit of an ASMR quality to it.The lamb could have been cooked better and the shellfish substitution could be improved. The 13 course meal was too much food!!—stick to the 10 courses.A++ service. 👎parking and location 🌺must try spot

Wonderful experience with unrivaled food. For me the food, just got better and better as the courses went on. The sommelier was also great and recommended some really good wines that were reasonably priced. They also had an amazing collection of wine and we were able to get some of our favorites from Australia. The service is just exceptional from start to finish - fine dining at its best. Not the restaurants fault but it’s a long experience so next time I’d wait until I could have got an earlier booking (we had no choice for the day we were in the city and had the last sitting) as finishing at 10.30pm was a little late for me personally.

This was my first time in a dining experience like this and it was beyond amazing! Celebrated my birthday here and was blown away. From start to finish everything was well thought out Carefully put together menu. The plate were absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed and we're impressed by all the wait staff and how in unison they were. It was fun being able to see into the kitchen and watch everyone working together to prepare our dishes. Intimate experience very impressed with the while experience. Cannot recommend this fining experience enough. Seriously worth the price.

I visited Birdsong in July of 2021. Today is August of 2023. Why the long wait? When I visited I had only been to a few other Michelin starred restaurants. I had no clue how to compare it to other dining experiences I’d had. I’ve now had enough experience to feel that I can do this review justice. Headline: Birdsong is a sublime experience and worthy of its accolades. Michelin star restaurants are a unique experience. Tasting menus are always going to be a mixed bag. Something's just not going to be to your taste. If you are lucky, other dishes are going to be out of this world. The Menu at Birdsong is no exception; which is good. For me to give 5-stars to a Michelin restaurant there must be something on the menu that is life changing. Let’s face it you’re fighting for a reservation and paying a fortune; if there isn’t something you will carry for the rest of your life it’s not worth it. Peas. I’m not a huge fan of peas. Yeah I like split pea soup, but mainly for the ham. If I see them on a plate I might give a taste if they are vibrantly green. But I’m never going to be swayed to order a dish because it features peas. In fact I’ll probably avoid a dish that features peas. And yet I will remember the peas I had here until the day I die. Unbelievably cooked so they are still crunchy and yet they aren’t raw. Peeled and the skins fried. Added on top of the dish for crunch and texture. But so few!!! My life is incomplete for not enough peas. I don’t remember the wine. I remember the bread and squab. Excellent. It was one star when I visited. It earned its second that fall. Why not three? Atmosphere. Every three star restaurant I’ve visited leaves you feeling like you are on an island enjoying your experience at a safe distance from your neighbors. Birdsong is a little crowded, a little cramped. You’re too close to your neighbors to get that 3rd star. But their loss is our gain. 3-star food for a 2-star price. Highly recommended unless you need the intimate atmosphere to focus on your date.

The wine pairing with the tasting menu was a great experience. So many favorites but I must say the Sea Urchin Puff…I can have dozens of them!! Delicious!!!

Really great experience. Food was very innovative and plentiful. We took the drinks pairing, which turned out to be a lot of alcohol. The overall experience was great. Next time if we go again, might skip the drinks pairing altogether…
