Thompson Park - Dog Park

Tourist attraction Dog park

🫤 The dog park itself is good. Lot of space & dogs. But some dog owner (and dog) are NOT! Our 28 lb mini aussie got bitten by a husky yesterday. My dog had played for more than an hour so he was very tired and lying on the ground. After the husky entered the park, he/she rushed from the gate to my do... The dog park itself is good. Lot of space & dogs. But some dog owner (and dog) are NOT! Our 28 lb mini aussie got bitten by a husky yesterday. My dog had played for more than an hour so he was very tired and lying on the ground. After the husky entered the park, he/she rushed from the gate to my dog (we were in the woods area) and bit my boy's butt. They had never met each other before so I still don't understand the reason why. After his/her owners noticed what happened, they just walked away with their dog without saying anything. When we were leaving the dog park, I saw some dog barking at that husky as well. Yes, he might be one of the smallest in the large dog area and a little bit timid when he meets new friends, but he had never shown any aggression towards other dogs and after he warms up, he always plays with others happily. We've been to more than 10 dog parks in Ohio, NJ and NY. Never encountered this kind of matters before. My boy is friendly and knows to stay away whenever there is a fight or dispute. The owners are a middle age couple with at least three dogs, two of them are huskies and one of them is a GS on leash. I do not stereotype any dog breed. I actually love huskies and GS. But OWNERS, please make sure your dogs won't attack other dogs out of no reason, or just because they are smaller in size! I won't expect the owners to pay the $150 vet fee, but at least speaking some good words will do the work.

Dog park itself is nice. Yet, some of the owners DO NOT watch there dogs. Some dogs where playing far to rough- trust me rough is fine by me but sometimes you have to rain your dog in for a few min. Plus if your dog continues to hump other dogs, you should leave not have the other people have to leave. Wake up people it’s not a social event for you. You are there for your dog. Act responsible.

Clean dog park with separate sides for big and small dogs. Plenty of benches and beautiful grounds. Dogs had room to run and play

I have just been coming for a few months. It is a beautiful park with trails. Now that the weather is getting warmer, I can see that I will need to bring him elsewhere. It gets very busy and there are a few irresponsible dog owners that being aggressive dogs there. They are already growling before they come in... clear sign that you should walk away. The busier and the hotter it gets... will only make the situation worse. I watched a dog getting carried away, by his owner, have another job jump up and attack it while it was in his arms. There were a few women with this group of dogs ( the aggressive ones) and it changed the whole mood of the park. Other guests said the same people so the same stuff all the time. I left and took my dog for a hike. Not worth risking my well behaved dog getting bit.

Super friendly people, even friendlier dogs, great park with plenty of seating and shade for the summertime. Great location with a hiking trail entrance next door, and plenty of water faucets.

The largest fenced off-leash dog park in our area. Clean and well-maintained. And nice sturdy poop bags too! Yes, that's important when you have a big dog! Besides the dog park, there are some beautiful trails for walking your dog on leash as well. A great place to get some exercise and fresh air for people and dogs!

This dog park is fantastic. the fenced-in area is made up of both a field and a wooded area with benches. There's plenty of shade but also plenty of room for the dogs to run around and play. Most guests are friendly and etiquette dog parks and most people following here. Make sure you bring your own bags although they often have bags.

Best dog park EVER! Been coming here for over 4 years now. Highly recommend it here to anyone. They have a small and big dog area, and also a small animal sanctuary with pigs, goats, peacocks, deer and a Rhea! Family friendly.

Nice park for dogs. My only suggestion is closing up the gap near the gate that small dogs can get through.
