Very tasty food and great service. Many dishes are quite spicy but there are some great non spicy ones too. Would be nice if it had a few more vegetarian options, but the salads are delicious and large. Overall a great addition to the high street as it's quite unique and is reasonably priced. No alcohol, but great mocktails.

Had lunch with the missus at Truro the past weekend. Excellent food. Owner Ali's a lovely chap. Greeted us at the table, described the dishes when I had doubts. A friendly face to have around. I am big on hygiene. Place is spotless, especially the kitchen, so that's a big plus. In the attached pics: our calamari starter, Maputo 1/4 chicken main course, cod main course, and Malva pudding dessert. All tasty. We also had the butternut soup starter which was excellent but I forgot to photograph. 2 quick recommendations for Ali as Truro evolves: 1 - would love to see an option to mix smaller portions of chips and rice with the mains, instead of just a big portion of one or the other. 2 - please include sides of salad and veg with the main course as alternatives to chips and rice. Would be great for those of us watching our carbs. Overall, it's a thumbs up from me. Will return at some point.

I am proudly South African Indian. I came across 'The Truro' by chance and I can honestly say that it felt like home. At a time when my family was missing home-home somehow came to us! The owners are so genuine and down to earth and they made us feel so welcome and special. In fact, we were thrilled with the service from every staff member. The food was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavour. I highly recommend the Durban butternut soup and the scrumptious prawns and calamari. I think it's a brilliant fusion restaurant and it really does bring something different and spectacular to London. The malva pudding and the cheesecake were also exquisite! I would love to see more South African dishes on the menu in the future, eg. our famous, spicy, mutton sausages and bunny chows. Until then I look forward to my next visit and highly recommend this restaurant to food lovers in Croydon and beyond! P.S Take a moment to read the backstory of how the name of the restaurant came to be. Our ancestors would be incredibly proud of you and so are we! Wishing you a successful journey!

So nice to see a new restaurant opening in the area. The restaurant is gorgeous and well setup. Would need some music and alcohol but maybe it’s coming later as they just opened. The chicken was delicious better than Nando’s. Highly recommend it.

Came here on a Wednesday night with my family. Great experience. The service was very helpful and courteous. Food was delicious. Ordered the calamari and the garlic bread for starters. Loved the butter cream sauce. The chops were perfectly cooked and soft. Kids enjoyed them a lot. The prawns though were the highlight for me. Amazing. Highly recommend them. We ordered so much mains and starters we only had space for one dessert which was the nut ice cream cake. Very different but tasty. Restaurant was busy and I’m glad we booked in advance. And decor was gorgeous. We came after six so luckily found street parking though there’s a parking lot close by.
