Atmosphere is amazing, nicely decorated restaurant, lots of flowers, comfortable chairs, good lighting, pleasure for eyes and pictures. There are free parking round the restaurant and upstairs have shisha (I personally think it's quite expensive) I was amazed by taste and look of main dishes, they were delicious and the service was great, the food came quick. All food are halal. Optional to add gold on top of your food. There are service charge of the total bill amount which is optional.

Went here for my friends wedding celebrations. I have to say the place was really lovely with an amazing atmosphere. Food was amazing and the shisha was excellent. The staff were super friendly. Highly recommend it. It was worth the money and time having travelled over an hour to get there.

We came as a group of 15. First of all what a beautiful and aesthetically pleasing place to be in. They have made it to feel spacious, well designed and an all round nice place to be in. Being a big group, we ordered a bit of everything from the menu. All round I would give the starters a 9.5 out of 10. Sushi, highly recommend any of the sets they provide, all of them have been made with precision and presented very well. Cheeseball and croquettes come as a set of three and are larger than they look so very good value, if you wish you can split a piece amongst eachother. Now the wings with a bbq coating, I personally don't choose bbq but wow I could not recommend this more. The burst of flavour it gives is fabulous. Very well cooked and such an amazing starter. Edamame with a chilli coating was very good as well as the side sea food dishes being very good choices. Moving on to the mains there was a slight decline from the starters. Firstly there was a few orders mixed up, some missing. Here is where I have to credit to the staff members. Throughout the night I could not fault the service, very polite, always available and always looking to please the customers so that was a massive plus. I personally ordered the beef with sweet potato mash. It ended up coming with chips but it worked out better this way. I do feel chips is a better side dish than the alternative of either sweet potato fries or sweet potato mash. My meal was cooked very nicely and I thoroughly enjoyed my main. I wasn't to crazy about the side salad with the dish and felt it could have been slightly better but overall I was happy with it. Now based off what other family members have said I would say the following: The black Cod probably being one of the most expensive dishes on the menu is a full on avoid. Both members said it did not taste nice at all and after the first bite immediately requested for a change of dish. The staff members took the courtesy of replacing the meals very efficiently with another choice from the menu. Lamb cutlets seemed to be another dish where most felt the coating of the lamb didn't feel right. You may want to choose this but based on how many pieces were not consumed it may be one to avoid. Finally the prawn main, was one where you taste a fishy smell and can often be overwhelming to the point you can't eat it. Chicken noodles came back as a very positive choice that was enjoyed by those who ate it as well as the duck. The drinks menu had a lot of variety as expected and compliments your meals well regardless of choice. Everyone who chose a mojito thoroughly enjoyed there choice. We then went on to the lounge area and for those who enjoy shisha (I personally dont) it is still a great place to hang about with family members and a place to socialise with those you care about. Zen lounge has a parking lot about which is great for those who travel here without having to worry about parking location. Pricing, considering how much we ordered and time spent there we spent roughly £55 per person which I think for the evening was fantastic value for money. Overall I think it was a great experience, would I go again here, yes I would definately recommend coming here as a group. Fantastic place to be, great staff members and a great fusion of food and choices on the menu. Yes some dishes could be better but I thoroughly enjoyed it all.

First time I went to this place.. Extremely quiet for a Saturday night around 8pm, hardly anyone in the place. Slightly on the expensive side of things but it's quite Lavish maybe that's why. Food was nice portion size was good.. Parking can be an issue but we managed to find a space. Overall good but nothing to write home about.

The food portions were so shocking. Very greasy and oily. The flavours were not there for me. You are not allowed water or drinks from outside which is disappointing. The service was good 😊. Food was very over priced and not worth the money.

This place is hands down one of the most aesthetically pleasing lounges I have ever visited. The customer service is incredible and all staff members are extremely attentive to all tables. Shisha was incredible, they had a variety of flavour options and a good range in different foods. The sushi was amazing, we had to get seconds. The chef really did a great job, I was thoroughly impressed. Presentation was exceptional and they had delicious beverages. This place is a little pricy but I’d say it’s worth it; had a great experience. Really enjoyed it and I would highly recommend.

It was a really great experience and atmosphere in the zen Lounge. I would highly recommend everyone to must visit the place. The staff was very polite and the service was good as well. The food was very nice especially the dynamite prawns, beef ribs, lamb cutlets. The decoration was superb as well. 10/10

PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING TO VENUE: The venue layout and decor is absolutely stunning and there is a real feel of luxury comfort. However, unfortunately less can be said for quality of food. The menu is Japanese influenced and at first glance there is a great selection of foods so I ordered a mixture of items, such as sushi, noodles and grilled meat and fish options. At first glance, the presentation was okay but the portion sizes were slightly smaller than expected for that establishment. The food for my table all arrived at different times, meaning some of my table had to wait an extra 5-10mins for their orders to arrive. I found the meat dishes were dry and gave off a funny smell, you could tell that it was frozen produce (which I wouldn't expect considering the prices). The Dim Sum arrived burnt and tasteless which was also disappointing. However The Shrimp Dragon sushi was very good, but overall the food was very disappointing. The waiting staff had no prior knowledge of the food, you would expect that when asked a few simple questions about the dishes you would get a prompt answer....but no. I feel this needs to be addressed, the waiting staff did not know what was going on half of the time and communication is key to have successful business. As for being Covid friendly, generally the premises are well equipped and staff are wearing face masks, however there was one individual who was wearing their mask incorrectly, which personally I think should of been addressed by the staff. In summary I would say the ambience of the venue is lovely, however the food for me was a let down and the prices charged aren't reflective of the produce received. I came here a few weeks ago, temperature checks and details taken for tracing, which made us feel safe. Customer service was great, I'm vegan and they were super accommodating, I had a katsu curry, which was brilliant, i also the asparagus which was incredible!! My gf and friends had the sushi which they raved about 10/10 for the food. Drinks non alcoholic clearly stated, delicious! The decor was an Instagramers dream, super high end. I would definitely come here again!

My experience at zen was amazing , I experienced both the Restaurant downstairs and Upstairs for shisha. As soon as I stepped In the customers were very friendly and due to covid I got my temperature checked so I felt safe & comfortable as not many places do this. I enjoyed my time here as the food was up to my standard. The service was amazing , was frequently asked if me and my friends was okay and the environment was extremely clean . I loved the atmosphere in zen and it’s a perfect place to take photos! I then experienced the shisha upstairs and I love the vibe, the music, i think it’s just the perfect place for big groups and birthdays and for the shishas it had a wide range of flavours! The workers that made my shisha did a brilliant job. Definitely would come here again and already am planning to book my birthday here.

Was served by Lee for a Sunday lunch, was amazing service and she was incredibly welcoming and entertaining to my friend and I. Catered above and beyond. Interior is fantastic but what’s the point if you can’t hire the right staff? All very well sitting in a good atmosphere but surely you’d want the customer to have a good experience no? Fix up your staff and service and you’ll be great but for now sorry 1 star is just for the decor

Went there with my son, very welcoming and friendly staff. Halal Food was lovely and ALL THE DRINKS are NONALCOHOLIC. What a fabulously brilliant idea. Definitely going back again. Oh and the car there’s a free car park😉

Lovely food and service at Zen Lounge in Croydon. The food was amazing, everything tasted great and was made fresh, including the sushi. My only complain is being served boiled rice rather than Japanese jasmin rice/sticky rice with the salmon. Other than that the service was good, as for the interior it was a little dim in lighting but very spacious and beautiful itself. The shisha lounge is separate to the actual restaurant which is downstairs. I will definitely be coming back.

Attended zen lounge yesterday evening and I must say it was a pleasant experience from beginning to end. Booking was very easy and I was able to amend my table size by speaking with the staff whom were very accommodating. On arrival we were greeted and shown to our table which was beautifully set up. The ambiance in the restaurant was lovely and the decor absolutely stunning. The waiting staff were very attentive and pleasant. Food came out in no time no long wait time and everything was cooked to perfection, I have not one single complaint. The drinks were also very nice with a large selection to choose from. It was my sons birthday and they brought the cake out with sparklers and played music making the moment even more special. Oh and I must add the 24k champagne was so delious definitely worth a try. Would highly recommend. Big thank you to all the staff at zen lounge. I look forward to coming back.

We had my sister’s gender reveal and it was the best experience ever. The staff made it so lovely for us and even shared in our joy when we found out the gender. Can I say the manager is one of the best people I have met so kind and warm and the food was really good. I will definitely be visiting again.

This has become one of our local favourites. I must say prior to lock down id had more than one bad experience here in terms of speed of service and the shisha. Since lockdown I’ve now been three times and what a turn around. Service has been good, food tasty and The shisha does not burn out quickly and is of good quality - also reasonably priced at £25. Their sushi is decent but slightly overpriced for the quality - although the ambiance and settings make up for the price! I’ve given it four stars because I would say whilst I accept the price because I like the place, their prices rival central london nicer sushi places.

Beautiful venue! The price of shisha is reasonable (from £22) and I was very pleased with their range of mocktails. I was amazed especially by their Desi tea!

Food and service was good and has always been good when I have gone there. The standards are high and maintained. Can get very busy over the weekend so always good to book for larger groups. Shisha is also good and can't go wrong with a recommendation from the staff there.

The interior of the restaurant and Shisha lounge is beautiful but the food and customer service is lacking severely. I will give praise to the dynamite tempura prawn and the chicken udan noodles as they were delicious but the rest of the food was below par - the bao bun was dry and the Korean fried wings tasted like they had been defrosted - no crisp whatsoever. The customer service needs improvement - food service took ages, tables were not cleared, cutlery not provided with the food - despite several staff members lounging around. I would only ever return for Shisha. God bless

Husband and I went for a late afternoon lunch and were very impressed. The restaurant has a regular dining level as well as a shisha smoking section upstairs. The decor was stunning and service from all the staff was excellent! We ordered 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 drinks and all the food came hot and very tasty (did not eat any of the authentic Japanese though). Really appreciated that the kitchen caters for Halaal and there's no alcohol on the property. It is on the higher end side for prices but worth it for the overall atmosphere. Perfect place for a fancy night out or group celebration too. The shisha was made perfectly and the man incharge made sure to constantly refill and check on it throughout the afternoon. It was really nice to sit back and relax in the shisha section after the meal with the excellent heating and tvs provided. Lovely to know there is a fancy restaurant that caters for Halaal and non alcoholic customers diets on this side of London

The new post-lockdown policy only appears to apply to some people! Went to Zen only to be told it is strictly one shisha per person, I thought ok good they're doing this to prevent the spread of the virus however upon going inside I saw a lot of their 'known' customers sharing shisha amongst two/three people! In other words the new policy is only for them to make more money and it clearly doesn't apply to all. The food was ok but nothing to reflect the price however the shisha was nice. They need to seriously look into their policy.

The quality of food does not reflect the price. The rice was not cooked properly and no taste. We were told that they were big portions and were confused when the food arrived. The pineapple juice tasted like squash. The only thing I could bear were the chips :/ The decor was lovely though

I would return if invited by a friend, but wouldn't recommend this place. There needs to be a standard of customer service training as the staff skills are a mixed bag; some great, some shocking. I went for a 2nd time (my first visit was a mess) to celebrate a birthday, the decor is nice (except for a few burnt chairs), the shisha is ok. I ordered the Zen special, which had a nice flavour, but it was weak and the ice pipe (the main reason I ordered) was underwhelming compared to other shisha lounges. We ordered food, it took forever and was just about warm when it arrived. It was nice, but smothered in sauce and we weren't given napkins and cutlery. I called to a member of staff for a napkin, before I even said a word he said "I'm not your server bruv" and walked off. When I managed to get someone's attention he literally brought one napkin over, I wasn't the only person eating. Not long after all of the food arrived we were interrupted with the bill and card reader. The lady did apologise, but it doesn't change the fact our food took ages to arrive and we were then interrupted for payment while eating. The lady also took the itemised receipt after taking payment, when I went back to her to retrieve it she said it's gone and there was no way for her to get it from the system, which is wrong every POS system has a history. It is good they check temperatures on the door and ask you to sign in, but I didn't see any hand sanitiser anywhere. Another thing is the lack of heaters, I was ok because I had a jacket, but heaters are usually pretty standard in a shisha lounge. Zen Lounge has a lot of potential, I hope they get it together.

Went out with the family today for the first time since lockdown and I was so happy with my first visit to this venue. Such a beautiful venue, great atmosphere with exceptional food and Shisha. The staff were very attentive and there when needed. Ive been to many lounges but this one definitely follows procedures and new regulations to a great standard. Keep it up guys!

Great atmosphere, chill vibe. Amazing food and drinks and is flexible which means you can go up and down from the shisha lounge to restaurant area etc. Deserves way more business.

Ambience is lovely, and the venue is aesthetically pleasing. Aside from that, food service was slow, by the time my friend got her starter the rest of us had finished, by the time I got my main the rest of my table had finished. Friend had to send his food back twice and ended up no longer even wanting it. Waited too long for drinks. Food is barely average and overpriced. A friend was charged one great British pound to change the sauce on her order. Had to wait for salt and pepper as these werent already on the table like most restaurants have. The torpedo prawns I had were delicious, I also ordered lamb and there was barely any meat, not the best cut or quality. Shisha lounge is a lovely vibe, great amount of shisha flavour options, service only slightly better than the restaurant downstairs main con being initially sat by the shutters when it was a windy cold night, decided to move myself and party to a different different table. Overall, if I didn't make light of the situation, I would've been more irritated. I may visit the shisha lounge if I had more time on my hands, but unfortunately, the restaurant isn't it for me.

The atmosphere is great. But it’s hard to recognize past the poor and slow customer service. We were excited to try Zen Lounge for our date night, but unfortunately, the entire experience was a letdown. We waited over 45 minutes for two juices, and then another 30 minutes just to get our order. The food itself was underwhelming. For the hefty price tag, we expected something much more special, at least good service. Instead when we finally received our meal we were handed the check and rushed to leave.

Service and atmosphere was good but the food can be improved. The sushi was soggy as they used white rice instead of sushi rice. The main beef dish that does not deserve the £21.50 price tag as it was dry, overcooked and lacked flavour. The dimsum was not that nice. We enjoyed the Beef Udon Noodles as they were quite juicy and well seasoned. We also enjoyed the drinks. The dessert was alright. This place has so much potential!

I can not belive this place operates. I was never so angry and dissapointed. Ordered through Just Eat and what I received shocked me to the bone! Overpriced, cold, nasty food (veg noodles - half of a standard portion, 2,5x times more expensive to anywhere else, absolutely swimming in oil - inedible, meat portion the same £14!!!). Total cost £35 for spring rolls, edamame and 2 portion of noodles. The driver was 30mins late, didn't speak English and didn't apologise. Total wait 2 hours. The restaurant is 3 miles away. They do not pick up the phone, called about 10 times. Please do yourself a favour and avoid them please this is just outrageous. Places like this should not serve food so please don't support them by ordering. Photos attached.

Not the best service, food was served cold the waiters were not making any eye contact. only go if you want to have nice place to sit down! That’s all. We have been now twice the first visit was better this this one .

5 Star service - We had our work Xmas party here and it was an amazing experience. The food was excellent and every member of our team was delighted with their meal due to the wide variety on the menu and selection of tasty mocktails. Our experience was further enhanced by Besa, due to her attention to detail and excellent customer service.

I would give Zen Lounge a 3.5 stars out of 5. The establishment is beautiful and the staff are welcoming, professional and friendly. The non alcoholic cocktails were nice, but could of been priced better for what they were. The same can be said for the food. The starters were better recieved than the mains, but for some dishes i.e. prawn starter, you pay a premium for a dish that doesn't quiet match the price. The mains could do with improvement flavour wise and portion wise especially with the duck pancake dish (was more like a starter than main). Overall it was a pleasant experience, but it wouldn't be my restaurant of choice in the area.

Really delish Halal Japanese food! Definitely would go here often! They also surprised my nephew with a yummy soft chocolate cake (his fave as well!) complimentary for his birthday :-). The desi chai was lovely and mocha was so tasty! Dim sum was so yum and the duck spring rolls were like woaah! The staff were really kind and gentle. My family had a great time. Thanks Zen!

Visited with my Partner for our anniversary. The food was lovely, as was the guy who took our order. The only downside was the tables. They are extremely low, whilst the chairs are a lot higher. Ended up eating bent forward so I wouldn't drop food down myself!

Delivery arrived cold. The standard was average and it was short on the order so we were pretty unimpressed. Some of the food was okay so just got it over the line for a 2*. Probably won’t order again unless the restaurant has a good excuse/refund in place for me

The staff are a little odd but this is an untapped gem in South London. Everything from the rose stacked ceilings to the mirrored walls, decadence #InstagramGoals The food is delicious and the milkshakes are to die for - shame about not serving cocktails though.

On a Dec night 2019, the restuarant part of the building was freezing cold. I had to keep my coat on whilst eating. The interior design with the ceiling flowers is lovely. Food was a 4/5. Drink was 2/5, I couldnt taste any alcohol in my cocktail, I guess it was a mocktail! I might only attend again in Summer time.

Fix up! Let me not lie, the setting is excellent, very nice interior, however, the service was appalling. Every order was messed up, ordered 3 shishas and received 1. Ordered soft drinks and came 20 minutes later. Very unorganised service.

There's a tall dark Asian man as a security guard very very awful attitude and apparently that's supposed to be the "face of zen" welcoming people...he's attitude MUST change. The waiters and waitresses however were so kind plus the manager though thumbs down for the food, for such a nice place for pictures the food is meant to be nice BUT expensive for nothing. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone, go there at yo own risk.

First time eating from them and they was nice

Love this place !!! Staff are friendly but what makes the difference is the security . It is the first point of contact and they are totally professional and friendly . In particular a guy called Radi he goes over and beyond making you feel special and looked after even before you enter the place .

I've been to many bad restaurants in my time but this has to be up there. First of all the service was terrible. From the moment we sat down we were hounded by the waiters to order our food. I think 5 different people asked us are we ready in the short space of 10 minutes. I mean give us a chance to at least read the menu. Once we ordered, the food then took another whole hour to arrive to our table. To top it all off, the food was absolutely terrible. The Chicken Katsu was an absolute disgrace to Japanese Cuisine. If you're going to sell Japanese cuisine at least make it slightly authentic. The chicken was very dry and too hard. The portion size was tiny and there was no enough curry sauce. I've had better Chicken Katsu curry from a street market stall in Central London for a fraction of the price. The interior of the restaurant is absolutely amazing but the restaurant has a lot of improvements to be made in the kitchen. There is no point having a nice fancy restaurant when your food is absolutely horrendous. Personally I would not return to this restaurant and would not advise others to go unless a serious change to quality of food can be made.

Only Popular because of its name. Read previous reviews about the food so only went for shisha. The shisha was good but the staff was poor. Strict 90 mins. We arrived at 6:45 and got told to leave at 8pm and they took our shisha away.
