I saw this place after my physical therapy appointment and went to pick up for dinner on the way home from work the next day. We ordered 2 Large shrimp egg foo young, 1 Large Shrimp Lo Mein, 1 Large Wonton Soup, 2 Spring Rolls and 6 Wings W/ French Fries. The food was AMAZINGLY delicious! Moving to Baltimore county for pg County we've yet to find a place we can get everything good from one menu. For example, "Ding Ho" has good egg Foo young but Paul Chen" has really good general tso shrimp. I highly recommend China Chef 🙌🏾

Pretty dang good for the value. Food was fresh and correct. Nothing much else to complain. The knock off is for the dirty waiting room which could be solved with someone's downtime wiping down tables and picking up trash. I know this is also the fault of the customers, so shame on y'all customers. Honestly seems like most people order at the counter and wait in their cars (COVID times and such). For those that found this as a place with double cooked pork (twice cooked pork) this is a mixed veggies with pork slabs variety and not the "crammed full of velvety cooked pork and cabbage to the brim". I continue my search for my love of perfect double cooked pork.

You know a Chinese's takeout place is good when the broccoli is perfectly steamed, leaving it bright green (the finest pectin activation coming from a fast food joint) and crispy to each bite. The food could use a bit more flavor, but that could be due to the demographic they cater too. (Why-t senor citizens and families in the surrounding neighborhoods).

I WISH I could give a 0 star. Their *SOUP* IS A DOWN BAD HORRENDOUS water boiled with veggies that are bigger than you can fit once in your mouth. THE heck! The soup was just water and veggies. We paid $15 for 2!!! I wish I could show the photos. THE WATER WAS SEE THROUGH TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY WILL NEVER COME HERE EVER AGAIN. DON'T RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. They didn't even salt or pepper it.

Way too pricey from last year. What used to be $9.95, now $$13.95 for same meal. Good food for too much money.

Only Chinese food I will eat in the state of Maryland. Everything is delicious, every single time. I have been eating here for 15+ years. I travel miles when I want Chinese food. And the staff is the best.

Very pricy! Brought shrimp egg foo young with shrimp egg roll. I requested less msg and was told most of the ingredients contained msg 🥴 so basically I didn't have a choice, I was going to either buy it or not, so I did. The shrimp egg roll was huge but only had 2 small shrimp lol. To sum it up, i was left with a pounding headache after knowingly eating all that msg 😩

Ordered chicken fried rice. Not seasoned well. Rice is not dry. I think, too much water was put in rice for cooking preparation.

I have been going to this place for at least 30 years. The food has been consistently good and they give you plenty. From the spareribs, to the egg Foo Yung, to the lo mein, the pepper steak, to the egg rolls... all good!

I drive many miles to buy their food: it's delicious! If I am lucky, I am attended by the lovely, smiling gazelle. If I am not lucky, I get barked at by the grumpy dragon. Either way, it's totally worth it!

I have ordered carryout from here many times. The roast pork fried rice and crab Rangoon are on the top of the list of good dishes here. Beef, pork, and shrimp lo mein are also tasty. My youngest child likes their sweet and sour chicken, though doesn't use the dipping sauce. Service is always friendly whether it's on the phone or at the counter. This is the go-to Chinese restaurant in the Catonsville area.

First time coming here today as I was in the area. I got the pepper steak lunch combo with wonton soup and a orange soda the total was about $15. This place is a little more expensive than your other Chinese food spots but it is well worth the price. The rice is not burnt or taste like it was cooked in burnt wok, it's very soft and sweet. The sauce for the pepper steak is delicious and all the vegetables are tender and crunchy. The pepper steak itself is cooked well as well I was not disappointed at all with this meal. The portions are nice and full. If I had to make a critique the wonton soup had a bit more of a smokey flavor than I've traditionally had but this place makes me think the other places make it wrong and not china chef. Fantastic stop for a quick lunch you won't be disappointed order up 🤘

**BRING A SECOND BANK ACCOUNT** GOOD: Tasty for takeout Chinese; friendly employees BAD - The PRICES and hospitality for those seeking to sit. I typically don't push back on glowing reviews. Mine tend to be within 1/2 of the average - not here. I was looking for a convienient dinner while shopping in the Rolling Road shops and China Chef seemed to fit the bill - Chinese, tables, good reviews. I wanted to try a few things and expected prices to align with my local places. I ordered crab ragoon (standard app in most places), fried dumplings and an order of pork ho-fun ( mostly thick noodles with some pork) - 36.00. No thanks, I cancelled the two items and was left with the Ho-fun. Two others also reduced their orders - nearly all orders after and before me were in the mid 20s. One was 62.00. The Ho-fun was very good, but it's still Chinese take-out. The pandemic and inflation are not acceptable anymore to gauge customers. Chinese take-out competition is fierce and CC's prices aren't competitive. I also had to eat out of the take out bag - even plastic trays would have been a better touch. To sum up, their food is good but extremely expensive. I recommend straight take out if you go. For my hard earned dollars I am sticking with my local Chinese. The food is good but not worth that second bank account.

The order is always fresh and hot. This location has no issue with MSG contents, and the only location I eat from. Service is always friendly and I can smile. My reviewed has changed, since my first review. Something has changed about China Chef; most likely the cooks. It took me three months to return to the resturant after receiving left over food (spare ribs with fried rice). It may have appeared the dish was ordered previously and never picked up and the order was too quick. I did throw the dish away, since it was time consuming to travel to the resturant for a return. It took three months for me to return and the food doesn't taste good as before. It appears the cooks are not the same and my ratings has decreased.
