😐 The museum has quite an asthetic and really gets you in the zone. It has a decent amount of content and about 4 floors. The price I'd say is a bit hefty at 8,50 but It's sort of understandable. People often mention museum, torture, instruments, visit, Marino,

Fascinating museum full of historical torture instruments, not replicas! The museum is very small, with a full look round reading all of the texts taking about how the items were used; these are in Italian, English, French & German. Great for tourists! Although the museum is small, the ticket price is also very low (more than reasonable) so it is well worth a visit for anyone visiting this micro country.

It's very informative (sometimes too much). There aren't that many gorry pictures but the descriptions are explicit enough. It's not for everybody! Good education though. Makes you think how people didn't value life and enjoyed somebody else's suffering.

Does not deserve Classic fake "museum" found in many Italian cities. High ticket price for what you are going to visit.

There are many wonderful things in the world. When many people live on the same mountain. For example - San Marino, where we were in 2013.

Terrifying and at the same time curious about how people once lived with the risk of being tortured for various reasons...

The Torture Museum of San Marino is a somewhat macabre, but at the same time important, tourist attraction. The museum houses a large collection of torture instruments used throughout the centuries throughout the world. Visiting the museum is a disturbing experience, but also necessary to understand the history of humanity. Visitors can see with their own eyes the tools that were used to inflict pain and suffering. The museum is divided into three floors, each of which is dedicated to a different historical period. The first floor is dedicated to medieval torture, the second floor to modern torture and the third floor to contemporary torture. The museum's collection is very rich and varied. Visitors can see torture instruments of all kinds, from the simplest to the most sophisticated. Some of the tools are extremely cruel and impressive. The museum is accompanied by an audio guide, which provides information on the individual instruments and torture methods. The audio guide is available in Italian, English, French, Spanish and German. The Torture Museum of San Marino is a tourist attraction that does not leave anyone indifferent. Visiting the museum is an experience that can be difficult to forget, but which is also important for understanding the past and reflecting on the present. Small but well managed torture museum and full of information. Ticket cost is €9 for adults and €7 for students. Arranged on 3 floors with all objects related by careful and interesting descriptions. Also suitable for children. The visit does not last long but it is pleasant and captivating. The only flaw is the lack of depiction of the most effective and painful torture tool: the woman!🤣

excellent place to visit, be careful that you also go down two floors underground, to spend a useful time reflecting on how barbaric we were. I highly recommend it

Nice, interesting museum, but at the entrance I asked if it was also ideal for my 7 and 8 year old children. The lady at the reception told me yes, but if it were up to me I would not recommend it for anyone under a certain age.

Pretty realistic depiction of all sorts of torture methods from the Middle Ages and around the world. The things depicted could possibly be a bit disturbing to children and young people, as the images and instruments get under their skin - um, ok, in the truest sense of the word. I would not visit the museum with children under the age of 14 unless they have a certain level of mental maturity and everything is explained in a child-friendly manner as far as possible. Otherwise, in contrast to some other “trash museums” in San Marino, it is definitely recommended to get an insight into the depths of medieval society.

Pretty high entrance fee for little content. You can see quite a few pieces, but there is only a description of how it was used and that in a very brief version. In the upper area, mutilations, among other things, are described, which also happens in more detail. Overall, still very interesting.

A very nice museum that presents a brief history of torture. I suggest reading through all the labels on the instruments instead of simply passing by, the stories behind each of the items here are quite mesmerizing.

Nice museum. Everybody should visit it to understand the mistakes of the past. Small but worth visiting. Nice that all descriptions are in Italian, French, English and German. Great

An impactful museum to illustrate how cruel, sadistic and truly despicable what appears to be the most intelligent species is.

Small but decent museum. Often there is a short description of the implements that are on display of how these devices are used and their history. Very cool and cringeworthy if your imagination is good enough.

I impressed the environment and the top view from the nice castle on the mountain. This museum is near the castle and shows the historical story of San Marino , a small beautiful country and located beside Rimini , Italy.

The torture museum was exactly as you'd expect, full of devices of torture. Setup was good until you needed to go down the tight, spiral stairs. Devices were displayed well and had detailed descriptions in multiple languages. Spent about 30-40 minutes and prices were fairly reasonable at 8,50 euro. Had to pay cash
